123D Catch

After months of being broken its finally working again One caveat the more photos you to take the longer the response takes Im noticing response finalization times between 15 min to 1 hour But YAY its working again                 Finally working

I really like a lot of Autodesk app I use Sketchbook all the time as well as others So naturally I was psyched to see this one I mean what a great idea right But at least for me it just didnt work how I felt it would It just seemed clunky and I constantly had to resign in over and over again I wont be snarky in this review as I do believe the company is a great one and its got to be difficult to bring an idea like 123 to the expectations of most users But as it stands the app isnt what I was looking for The only other thing I wish Autodesk would do is what Ive seen in other reviews Combine the drawing apps sketchbook ink etc into one great mind blowing program        Great in concept

It says it still is thinking some more It says that for too long     Takes too long to make into a model

Ive never been able to load anything because of server failure and the featured page hasnt changed in months Is this thing just a ghost ship     So is it abandoned

I have to say that it does take a while to render but there is nothing else like this out there and anyone with the app or a computer can view your 3d views It would be nice to be able to cut stuff out that you dont need to render so it doesnt take as long              Has great potential

There is no contrast in the progress bar please make the blue darker so you can actually tell how close it is to being done Cool app otherwise Will amend to 5 stars once this is fixed              Cool app bad progress bar

Ive used this app before and remember it working fine a great app I might add But now every time I try to upload a new shot it gives me a server error message Every time     Server Error

This app works alright Images can be a little wierd but i guess that is to be expected But PLEASE add front facing camera functionality I reallg wanna take 3d selfies           Front facing camera

Nothing gets sent out Youre constantly resubmitting and it always fails and like others have said that wouldnt be so bad if they gave you an option the save all the work youve done taking the photos But no theyre all lost     Hasnt worked in months

This is super easy to use sure it can take time to process and some scans wipe out but its doing some complicated processing Personally im a fan of the hand made aesthetic of the results Very cool app The downside of the current version is the dictorial emphasis on sharing When i click recent i want to see my recent scans not uploads by others Sharing is valuable to some and not others i want to be able to use it without for example wondering will it be saved if I dont publish it publicly              Fun app but please dont make me share

It worked a couple of times but will no longer even attempt to connect to the server to upload pics for processing     Seems to have been abandon

The low ratings on this app are due to impatient people that dont take the time to take good photos all the way around an object It works perfectly when you take your time with good photos Even if the final product isnt that great this app is a brand new idea that will improve eventually                 Great idea

The app never connects to the server and the one time it worked the model came out bad     Connection error

The only reason that I am giving this app two star sis that when I have gotten it to work it makes a pretty good model The first time I tried it I took my pictures according to the on screen instructions I followed all of the directions and within an hour I had a decent 3D model I blame the imperfections on the speed with which I took the pictures All of the subsequent times I have tried to make a model the process freezes for days with the message thinking some more I have tried logging out and logging back in to get the process started again Nothing works I reinstalled the app as a last ditch effort and found that my capture had been deleted I kind of expected this When it works its great but that is when it works        Worked onceonce

1Star is too many No results yet still waiting Very very very did I say very slow uploads I have been waiting for 3 days for it to finish uploading The progress bar is moving a little bit each day but still waiting for it to finish My upload Internet speed is 2MBPS I have no problems with any of my other iPhone apps What is going on here guys Finally after 5 freaking days it finished Result was a blob of brown fekal matter Program is total rubbish DO NOT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME Please Please fix your app     Frustrated by this App

To get better ratings people want better results to be able to save to Hard drive If it is possible to put guidelines like a dot that can be put in the middle of the object to better keep track of the position some red squares that represent where the picture is being taken once the first one is taken it stays then the second box appears showing where the next overlapping shot should be This would lead to more perfect projects After finishing seeing the nice results we should be able to email the obj file to ourselves with texture files in a zip People love to keep there work show it off They will definitely let them know where it was made to bring the popularity up Nice app can be perfect if u try to get these updates in              Better results

Im a 3D printing professional and often recommended 123D Catch and all the other Autodesk tools to new users I just opened the app after not using it in a long time to scan something After my captures the app reported a server error and wont upload Rebooting or toggling Internet didnt fix it either The biggest problem is that the support link in this app store doesnt provide any support It just links to the 123D products This is such a shame for a normally beginner friendly product     I used to recommend this

Some ratings are bad ill try to offer some advice Theres often a server error sign out and in again should fix it Poor meshes take photos in the right order Photos have to be in an interpretable succession and good nonvarying lighting                 Amazing

This has to be worst written app on my phone I have followers I cant rid of and I have people I supposedly chose to follow Cant remove them either Photos only upload while on wifi Yes that is a good idea but at least make it work when connect to wifi It does nothing        Nice 3DBad app

The app works great when it works But its difficult to get it to do so Connection with the servers is anything but stable        Unstable server connections

If youre finding this app lacking try VisualSFM It might look intimidating but the number of tutorials make it trivial Its also free and doesnt require cloud computing bullcrap           Learn VisualSFM

This app has all but replaced my decades old passion for stereo 3D photography and is edging out sphere panos as well When its done right you can get amazing life life replicas to zoom spin and view at leisure especially viewing them on the iPad version And you can also screen capture stereo pairs for 3D programs With this app you can now essentially bring your smartphone to any museum show shop display property or job site discretely capture an object process and edit it and even 3D print your own copy of it Everything from toy figures sculptures food or anatomical skeletons to dronephotographed housing developments Uncanny life portraits and sleeping pets are also popular frontiers The downside is Autodesks online system and editing options The PC version will not bring up my iOS model meshes so I have to extract and jpg tag my photo series from the models files then re render them in order to crudely cut out extraneous parts using this free desktop version On the upside you can shoot your own photo sequence with a much better camera than on you phone This free PC version no Mac version yet also replaces the nowdiscontinued online 123D Catch app which apparently once let you edit close holes smooth surfaces and more with your models using a simple interface but no more The online viewer and cloud storage setup gets unwieldy after you start adding more models They need sub folder icon and category options And the customer service is about zero I guess one cant complain for such a totally terrific and innovative FREE app and service One online user says he likes this better than the 350000 3D scanner he bought a few year ago But I would gladly pay 520 or more if Autodesk could streamline and improve the workflow editing storage and viewing experience This whole concept can be so much bigger than it is now              Incredible Art tech app

I think most bad reviews are because they dont know how to capture the correct image There are tips to make it work like using newspaper It takes about 30 minutes to process but its just fine                 Great app

After I captured the images it asks me to login Great Could of told me that before hand Then it uploads them Ugh fine so I wait 2 hours later it says processing Then it changes to finalizing Few days later it still says finalizing Not sure if the processing is on their servers or my device but they made it seem like this was an almost instantaneous thing Liars     A fools dream

First try The lack of instructions led me to try winging it Though it went through after a few hours result was a complete wash Second try w 3rd party tutorials waited hours for completion but the ap sent up error messages when trying to view the finished model Crashes when trying any of the social media features 3rd try trying a different app     Useless time sink

Tried on iPhone 6 plus and iOS 84 but after taking a first picture app just crash and returns me to springboard I tried few times before I delete it Waste of time I should charge them for time wasted on this non working app     Keeps crashing useless if they dont fix it

I couldnt get the darn thing to even work once What a letdown     Doesnt even work

Simple version member cannot upload more than 70 fotos that decreases quality and accuracy of the final STL or OBJ file Instead of pictures why not just take a video with the same concept up and down around the target 360 That might be more effective So disappointed for AutoDesk can be better        Not too demanding Standards yet

I got one capture out of 5 to upload Capture looks great but cant get any more done Captured images are lost and not recoverable if the capture fails There should be an option to take images from the camera roll     Buggy

This has been out long enough for Autodesk to get their youknowwhat together and fix this app It still crashes A lot It still fails A lot I work in the 3D CG world and I love the idea of a fast FReE photogrammetry app stitching together 2D photos to make 3D mesh but this is another example of Autodesks lack of consistent quality I dont know how the current owners of a technology like Maya keep putting out crappy toy apps Id rather pay 10 and have an app that worked Its a crap shoot Every time I use this Not impressed        Could be great But isnt

No longer allows uploads to Catch serverWhich means the App does not work Deleting     App only worked once

Im surprised to see the review where it worked onceonce Since Ive tried several times without a single success This supercomputer in my hand goes to waste with this terrible software     Terrible

This app is so slow it may set you off on a murderous rampage I still have not seen any results from my photos whether I use a lot or very little photos Its seems to be unable to handle anything Take a Xanax before using this app        Horrifically slow

This is the most impressive app Working in the 3D industry this would be my most used app if I could just log in For such an impressive and CPU heavy service it seems ironic that where it fails is the most basic of features I am able to log in but my scans always disappear and when I try to do anything I am logged out For example if I try to change my avatar I am able to select one of my photos then a window pops up saying you havent visited the community for a while so we logged you out Please log back in I select ok and the same window pops up again I select ok again and it takes me to a login page I try to login and I find myself again at a blank login page Its like Im in a labyrinth Very very frustrating Ive tried to make it work many times I dont care about the social aspect of this app at all I really just want to be able to scan things Id pay for this app if it worked     Could be the best app

I like the idea of this but why do I have to sign up for things just to use the app Deleted right when I saw that        Cool Idea But

Disappointed with several failed attempts to log in I repeatedly can successfully log into the 123d catch website but ever since I downloaded this app it wouldnt authenticate the same valid uid and password     Logon issues

9 pictures of a bedside lamp in horrible lighting conditions and it actually works But now it just says server error for new captures     Currently broken

This app just doesnt work I tried at least 20 times to capture a single sculpture It never returned a single image always thinking or finalizing only to fail I worked on this a week with every possible combination This is not ready for the marketplace Dont waste your time     Dont waste your time
