3D Sun&Moon Compass 3GS

This app is ok but it could be alot better There is only one screen which shows the sun and moon and their paths through the sky on a 3D spherical compass The problem is you have to hold your iphone at the precice 90 degree angele right at eye level to read the sun and moons paths If you hold your phone at the wrong angle the sun and moons paths will overlap and you cant tell what you are looking at You can play with the date and see the suns path change over the course of the year but that is about all this app does There is nothing to tell you the exact sunrise or sunset times If you want that information this app doesnt have it Find another app that doesYou can only guess the approximate times for sunrise and sunset by reading the horizon line which is very faint and disappears if you dont hold you phone at the right angle Not worth the 99 cents If this was a free app it would be good but there is too little information for a paid app Add info like surise and sunset times and moon rise and set times as well as moon phases and this would be worth the price        Not impressed

Disclaimer I received this app as a free gift from the programmer This is a very refined and useful 3D compass sunpath moonpath sunrise calculator and highly recommended for such things like planning a shot on location in advance if youre a cinematographer Conveying 3D information like compared to where it is now where is the sun going to set is very difficult with traditional means and this app by makeing clever use of accelerometer compass being responsive and fluid makes the app feel not like a toy but an extension of your abilities a valuable quick instrument Pictures dont really do this app justice you have to use it yourself If you have a use for it youll be amazed by the superior interface                 Responsive augmented augmented reality

This 3D compass immediately replaced the builtin one on my phone Pretty darn cool                 I love this

Its a very useful tool for everybody By using the buildin compass of iPhone 3GS it can show the position of Sun and Moon in an intuitve way just like a Planetarium in your hand The graphics is so polished and when you changing the datetime the animation of sun and moon is amazing                 So polished

What I really like is how minimalistic this app is As other reviewers have noted it has really fluid and slick animations and you have to try it out to believe it The screenshots above dont show how cool it is when you select the drop down menu and roll the menu up or down When you do that of course your view of the earth stays static if you hold your hand still but the sun and the moon fly around orbit which is pretty cool Its neat to watch them get dark when they go behind the earth it really gives it a 3D look My only suggestion would be to make it so that you can see a transparent view of the earth and maybe a little dot where the GPS knows you are Fantastic must buy for anyone looking for the highest quality 3D compass that shows the sun and the moons orbits Also its a steal at 099 PS How cool will this be on the iPad                 Sleek
