Too many ads not enough content Too many ads and popups
Im surprised and hugely disappointed that AARP has released an app you cannot use unless you first sign up for a contest I have no interest in giving any personal info to anyone as a condition for using this app and it wont allow me to use the app unless I first sign up for the contest My opinion of the whole AARP organization has taken a nose dive after this experience Cheap attempt to collect personal info

dumb doesnt included either the magazine or the newsletter DOH dumb app does not include any of the pubs
I should have read the reviews before downloading Having it for only two minutes I can already tell that its not a very well written app The banner across the top obscures all those little home screen boxes so you cant tell whats in them without opening That would be fine except the next screen also has the banner obscuring its little windows Im not going to wait to see if it crashes as its useless right now Not a good app Stick with the website READ THIS
As others have said the last update shifted the content up and is now partially hidden Must be an incompatibility issue with iOS 7 PLEASE fix it Unviewable
The latest version 206 addresses the problem of the tool bar blocking content so everything seems to be visible now The tool bars are still large as is the advertising bar at the bottom Autohiding the tool bar and having a way to dismiss the ad bar if not needed would be welcome improvements The application now flips when you rotate between landscape viewing modes but still doesnt rotate to portrait Updated review improved
This locks up my iPad Problem

This is possibly the worst attempt at creating an iOS APP I have ever seen AARP should be ashamed of themselves I have an iPad Air and iOS 7 The tiles that represent categories do not fit on the screen and are poorly labeled The use of tiles also makes me believe this was created by a junior Windows 8 developer AARP would do themselves a favor by pulling this APP and hiring an experienced iOS developer They may also consider having someone actually install it on an iPad before resubmitting to the APP Store DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP
Come on AARP you have proven so many times that you can do better This app is useless as you cannot log in It just spins and spins Also when viewing certain widget screens you cant close them once finished and have to exit the entire app to close the widget window Dont waste your time I deleted it 5 minutes after downloading Terrible app
It has been many months AARP since you all last done an update to this app Ive been trying to renew my membership and this app doesnt work You send letters requesting I renew my membership but yet you refuse to fix this app for anyone to renew Thats money you all are losing The card doesnt really serve a purpose for me App doesnt work
Got the app because I had too many error messages on safari and chrome on my ipad for aarp sites The app is as bad Crashes often get that annoying Popup every page like during a quiz each time I went to the next question I had to deal with the popup think you know AARP sometimes twice Very frustrating to have such a bad app from such an otherwise great company Hope someone is actually reading these reviews and fixing the problems Disappointing
Despite others reviews I decided to try this app myself The viewers who gave it a poor rating were absolutely right Windows are not wide enough to show all the text slideshows lock you in and theres no way to get out and the pages wont change their vertical to horizontal orientation Its interesting that such a high class organization such as AARP would produce such a low quality app Kludgy locks you up
This app doesnt work well Often it wont open to the content within the headings I will not keep this app Not a good app
Login to the app and you get a pop up advertising to sign up for the app I ALREADY HAVE IT Tap on any area of interest and you have to tap on a link that doesnt work There are probably many elderly relying on this Unfortunately it confusing and pointless AARP should be embarrassed by this Useless
As others have said I should have read the reviews before I downloaded the app Until they make some major revisions for this app I suggest you use the website App needs update badly
In the April paper issue I saw a blurb about the AARP bookstore Could I find it on the app No Could I do a search for it No Put a search function on the thing Just a marketing tool
We have been members of AARP for years and generally find their printed information informative Therefore when this app became available I downloaded it to my iPad After frequent crashes and links that went nowhere I took it off my machine After months now I figured that the bugs had been worked out so I reinstalled it mostly to play some games they are now offering plus take advantage of some shopping discounts After 20 times reentering passwords and being taken down false paths Im done with the app forever It is clear that the app has only one goal selling memberships Support for their existing memberships is non existent Not Worth the Trouble
Every time I click on an article I get no content except of course the Walgreens advertisement at the beginning I have deleted the ap reinstalled get the same result No Content
I wanted to be able to read the magazine on my iPad I cant find it within the app and what is worse every time I try to check something out the app throws a full screen ad for some dumb surveycontest in my face I hate it Perfectly awful

This app is on the verge of being great but it still has some issues that need to be fixed It acts like its not optimized for the iPad even though thats what the title says It was very frustrating some of the best information was covered by an annoying bar at the top Please fix itthis could be a great app Needs work

This app doesnt seem to be able to consistently recognize that you are signed in as an AARP member I can be playing online games and suddenly it will deny me and tell me to continue I must join It is also an awkward app to move among and between topics Frustrating
