Thoughtful app for letters introduction in per schoolers Pls do one for Maths                 Abphonics

I have been looking for an app I consider great to help my 4 yr old with letter sounds because in his class they primarily focus on the letter recognition rather than the sounds Within the first round my son was sounding out the words before the game and is now so excited to learn Another great part is that it gives them encouragement like good job or yeah along the way and also scores 13 stars so you know what to go back and work on Hands down best phonics game out there                 Best 3 spent

Love that this app teaches letters phonics and words The characters could be a little sillier to keep children engaged longer              Great teaching tool

Our 5 year old son is becoming more confident by the day He was reluctant to even try sounding out words no matter the reassurances we offered that he should just try his best This app gives them the chance to practice the target sounds write the letters and sound out words but it is also forgiving of handwriting and offers guided practice that builds confidence and success We love it                 Amazing

My five year old was trying the free app and got into it right away Was spelling words within the first few minutes To those complaining about the verification Look closer to the problem it says at least on mine 8 x 6 not 86 So the answer is 48 You can enter 14 all you want but it is not correct                 Son picked it up right away

My son has been using this app and his progress has been great Ive contacted support to provide suggestions and they responded promptly You can clearly see the time and effort the developers have put into this app I cant say enough The fact that it incorporates writing the letters the letters are sounded out the spelling challenges that use the sound of the letters and has the child pick the letters to make words I could go on and on but its just easier for you to get the application and experience it yourself I know this review sounds like it might be coming from the company but I dont work for them I wish I did so I could say I was part of this wonderful application and help all those children Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what else you come up with                 Wonderful

Im a first grade teacher with children of many skill levels in my classroom I needed a solid researched program to help children learn letter sounds and to be able to use them in making words I needed this to be motivating enough that I wouldnt need to be standing over the child insuring that they were staying on it I needed it to be individualized for individual needs and beginning with very basic sounds yet also having the capability to include consonant and vowel digraphs I wanted to get the results go each childs progress to be sent to me I wanted it to use lower case letters and to be American English sounds I needed a program that could remain on the same 6 letters for one student and yet go ahead to more letters for another Im very pleased with Pocket Phonics It does what I am needing I just wish I had more than one iPad for my class                 Just what I needed

One of my boys in third grade was facing the possibility of being held back At the beginning of the year he was testing at the first grade level for language skills with spelling the worst We did many drills with this apphe found it engaging and fun With this app and other support from a specialist at his public school he is now up to grade level We still use it to keep him sharp and frosty It gives him confidence                 Effective appealing and fun

My son has a speech delay and hearing loss I cant talk enough how this app has helped him Its been about a year since he started using this app and his improvement is remarkable                 Wow

Was excited to buy this app for my grandson and it doesnt work When it asked a verification question for the adult to proceed it just says the answer is incorrect I have wasted my hard earned money Cant even contact the company because you have to do the verification to even do that I am saddened that a company would do this to people     Wish I Could Give No Stars

This is a great app for learning how to write and recognize letters However I wish the voice would also speak the actual name of the letter before vocalizing how it is pronounced              Great Just one request

My kids are always harassing me wanting to play on my iPhone and once I got this app they love it and so do I I believe it really helps I have a set of 4 year old twins and it helps them I hear them always sounding out the sounds with the app when they play it                 Great Child App

I have never come across anything this fabulous in the learning area The attention to detail This is not only entertaining but I believe the next level in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder in learning to write speak and visualize their language School systems across our nation should make this a part of the standard curriculum Thanks                 Phonics Heaven

I use this app quite a bit with preschoolers Most are very engaged however one addition I would make is the option for letter tracing only as I work with several kids who are not at the lettersound identification level and therefore become frustrated and refuse to continue              Would give it 5 if

I purchased this for my 2 and 3yr olds They like it and its effective I really like how they teach phonics                 I like it

My kid played with this for a while and the app gave her good scores and she reached the digraphs but she still cant blend the sound to make a whole word This shows that there is something fundamental lacking in this app such as some basic explanations Another annoyance is that the sound quality is quite inferior and some sounds are even misleading For example when she learned the sound oo she kept saying goo because of the bad quality of the sound to much of my grief when I have to spend so much time to explain what is wrong and correct her        Ok app that needs improving

My son has struggled with mastering phonics and certain letter combinations Im excited to see how fast and how far hes come after using this app in just a few short weeks Not only does he learn phonics but also writing and sight words as well                 Great learning tool

I really like this app for helping teach my 6 year old daughter to write in cursive The only complaint I have is that the letters do not show how they join up when writing more than one letter Considering that cursive is meant to be used to write more quickly and as a teacher I think that should be demonstrated when joining letters in cursive into words Otherwise for beginners it is an excellent app with options for writing in Dnealian or cursive              Needs to show how letters join

This us so great Im glad I took a chance on it Teaches different kinds of handwriting and printing as well as the phonics and spelling to go with it AND it has a cursive option which is SO important I have my preschooler learning cursive and I couldnt be more thrilled Cursive us actually better for young brain development and totally doable for the littles                 Perfect

Doesnt work App asks parents to enter the answer to a simple addition problem such as 86 to gain access to the app Unfortunately when you enter the correct answer such as 14 it tells you that youve entered the wrong answer and prompts you to try again No matter how many times you enter the correct answer it keeps you locked out I even purposely tried wrong answers and it still didnt work     Tom

This app has helped my 2 children so much If you are looking for a app that help your kids with learning to read this is it                 Awesome

Weve been using this for a couple weeks and my 25 year old son still chooses it every morning and is learning I am very pleased that it has correct letter sounds I relate to the Montessori understanding of how children learn to read first they recognize that words are made up of sounds we did that without an app by playing Ispy then realizing that those sounds are represented by written letters This app works well for this I really like how customizable it is I modified all the settings to create what I wanted Suggestions for improvements Repeat the letter sound more often while they trace the letter Remove the thumbs down frowns when they get it wrong maybe a question face and a shrug or something or nothing Better graphics photos would be best I turned off switching between groups of letters until they are mastered however we cant get back the the first group that he already mastered and it would be nice if we could Thank you for the nice app              Teaching my son his letter sounds

This is one of the absolute BEST apps out there Both myself and my son love it                 PHENOMENOL app

This is the only app I know of that focuses on letter SOUNDS not names There are plenty of apps that name the letters but getting the SOUNDS right is critical for learning to read Granted the sounds arent always voiced the same when said alone as they would be in a word and here they pronounce the s as an s but then it sounds like a z at the end of the word but at least this app moves through the process the individual sounds separately then said one right after the other and then blurred together Not perfect but closer than many other letter apps out there 5 stars for being unique                 Unusual and important but not perfect

The app is fun and my daughter likes it The only issue I have is when they are spelling out words with the letters it doesnt tell them they got it right after each letter but just moves on to the next one Very confusing for little learners who dont realize theyve gotten it right and continue to pursue for the that sound              Phonics

I work with a 5 year old with autism This app has helped him develop an interest in writing letters It has also helped him with letter sounds and sight words I find some of the words pictures and concepts confusing sometimes but my little friends really enjoys it and gets a kick out of the cheering pencils              Great learning app

I dont want to register So please STOP asking for names emails and personal info This is kids app not a socialization app If I wanted Facebook or Twitter I can download them from the App Store     Silly app

My 6 year old has a learning disability and we have been trying everything to help him read After only a few days he was blending sounds together and sounding out words We have been using Pocket Phonics for 2 months and he is now reading more words and I love that the app lets you know their progress and what they have mastered I am a special educator an I recently reviewed this app with fellow educators a great tool for all kids                 Great app

This is a wonderful app The students love this program A little girl told me could read duck because the iPad taught her ck I allow students to use this program as a center in my room of students needing support in learning to read                 Great App for Early Readers

This program was great for introducing phonics spelling and handwriting to my child With a stylus we could do a more advanced handwriting after getting the basics mastered The best part is that the program has both major handwriting styles built in I have recommended this program to other parents that wanted a good educational game for their early elementary children Works well on both iPhone and iPad                 Excellent source of beginning phonics and handwriting

This app is great I am a first grade teacher and use it for reading intervention with my low student who are still struggling to read and I have seen great improvement in them I am very impressed Highly recommended                 Great App for Intervention
