Adding Machine

I like this app for what it is a very basic math calculator with a tape and that is exactly what I wanted I was tempted by the good ratings and nice layout to purchase it and except for the 5 price tag it is a a pretty good app However when you look up calculators there are hundreds of them and many are pretty good There are other apps I have and like One is one called calc which is free and has a tape much like this one and basic keys for simple math calculations and options to do more complicated math Another is 3LCALC which which is very simple math both of which are free vs 5 for this one more with tax Another nice calculator with similar features is tap calc much cheaper and more intuitive and it includes very clear instructions in the app The biggest problem I have with this app is that for the price it is pretty bare bones and there are almost no instructions explaining the best ways to use it The developer needs to put something on his website or in the app or both explaining how to best use this app in detailed simple to understand language with examples Since it is a basic calculator I think most people attracted to it will not be mathematicians or math students I had to experiment quite a bit to be able to do even the most basic things I needed to do and became frustrated that I could not go anywhere to learn how without blindly experimenting I cant imagine the developer is too busy with only a few very basic apps and especially at the premium price he is charging for this thing I have to assume it is just laziness on his part If there were better instructions I would raise the rating level but again for the price the dev needs to get off his lazy behind and write some good instructions     well designed app but

Works as expected Would like some cosmetic changes and maybe a shorter name under the icon Version 11              Just what I needed

I just purchased Ive been looking for an adding app with a I was very disappointed when it didnt work Hope someone can help figure out the problem        key doesnt work

This is not a bad app but it needs some improvements As another reviewer noted it would be nice to have persistent data carry back after you shut down the app I need this to add about 12 lines of data with about 6 lines which change from time to time It would be nice to be able to open the app and just modify the existing numbers It is a little quirky on the user interfaceId like to see smoother editing of existing numbers Half the time I wipe out what i have and have to retype it all in Can we get a way to email the printed portion of the numbers That would be sweet           Needs persistent entries

Great app very useful but change the name to Add Machine so it fits under the icon              Change the name

I originally purchased this app on my iTouch I now use it on my iPad 2 almost daily at work instead of my old adding machine The layout of the keys on this app feels closer to a 10 key than Mt other iPad calculator If this developer releases an iPad version of this app I would buy it                 Perfect adding machine app for the price

Just right for doing your checkbook calculations After you get used to it it works well Tutorial could be more helpful                 Perfect for me

I do like this application The edit feature is wonderful 5 Stars if you had the ability to hit 1255 and place the decimal in automatically like 1255 The ability to choose to automatically add a decimal would be great just like a real desktop adding machine Also I agree with other reviewsplease make name shorter              Nice Application

The percent key does work it adds the percentage or subtracts it from the original number it will not tell you what the percent is but it does work Over all it is a good app i do wish it had a total button separate cause adding machines do              percent key does work

would be better if and were 2 separate keys one for and one each for and similar to conventional simple calculators In addition Ive been unable to get key to function Either its inoperative or too unintuitive to easily use The scroll function works well           looking for next version

I really enjoy using this app especially since the last revision The latest verison added the function which will add the decimal two places over For example if you enter 7654 you get 7654 This is common on most adding machines and can really save you time when doing lots of entries You can turn this feature on or off depending upon your preference I love using an adding machine over a calculator This app fills that need beautifully                 Wonderful App Very useful

This application is very useful but is dying for a betterlooking GUI Its good for long calculations              Very useful ugly

This application is what I was looking for in an adding machine and it works very well The graphics are very light colored and hard to view It needs bolder or larger characters that are easier to view              Good Application but Needs Easier to View Graphics

Ive been looking for an adding machine with an editable tape and this one works great and has a good interfacefor adding It also has percent multiplication and division but using those is very nonintuitive In fact Im not sure Ive figured it out But for adding and subtracting nothing beats it              Great as adding machine but needs improvement

key does not work 78 3 gives 81 instead of 8034 key does nothing Have had to close app and restart as it would add s to a random Only way to clear was to close the app iPod Touch w v22 software     Unuseable

i m sitting here fuming away as this app assumes you are familiar with a adding tape machine the developer odd to provide a simple tutorial or instructions of how to use the basic functions right now i cant even add a list and do a simple discount to the total very disappointed     no tutorial not intuitive frustrating to use
