It weighs in at only 2.2 MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 1.10.2 has been released on 2014-11-29. The only thing worse than the app itself is the customer service Every time there is an update the app gets worse and worse When you try and get help there is at least a 25 minute wait to get through Then the staff is so incompetent they have no idea how to solve any problems They say they will elevate the problem to a level 2 and a supervisor will call you back No one ever calls you back They couldn t care less that the app is causing you to lose money If you are considering this app DON T DO IT     Awful app and customer service Former Ambur user
Paid 1500 for the system and programming and never used it It seems like they re trying to fit a full touchscreen system onto an iPad whereas Square for example takes an iPad and builds its system to take advantage of a tablets attributes Although I tried to avoid Square and it s higher fees it has been intuitive easy to program use and adjust     Wasted money Kamarblue
I run a small college Deli in Northern California In the past we used an outdated cash register that was falling apart I researched a number of tablet type cash registers and decided on this one I was very pleased on how easy the system is to use I needed very little help on setting it up When I did need help the online instructions and videos work very well and answer most of my questions I will admit that there have been a few issues but their tech support has been very helpful and works hard to resolve them problems I even had a few requests that helped our needs when it comes to reporting sales Ambur was very helpful and meeting my requests If you are looking into a new food service POS system I would recommend Ambur                     Great POS System Hfvjgcbjccjcv

I have tried rating this with no stars but would not allow me to do so So I gave it 1 for its potential ability to be a good app Customer service and a lot of its features are 0 All the problems that everyone else has had are issues I have had with Ambur from day one I have had entire days worth of transactions totally disappear and even ones currently opened in the pos Payroll is a mess does not accept the clock outs of employees and never has I used Shopkeep for 2 years and was happy somewhat with them but I wanted a few more features that Ambur offered that Shopkeep did not Big mistake as there is absolutely zero customer service I never had the ability to use the 2 3 devices at a time that I was paying for so I made a change to go to just one effective on the next billing date until I could get things worked out with them The plan changed but I was immediately charged another 58 within 2 weeks of paying 128 for the 2 3 device plan I have emailed them and called numerous times for an explanation but they have yet to answer and this has been going on for 3 weeks now And did I mention that I had 14 days free trial and yet was charged for Ambur immediately I have also questioned them about that but no answer surprise surprise Just don t do it don t use Ambur It is just not worth the chaos it creates There are options out there that are better I am sure     No good paraiso72
we used Ambur at our restaurant for 3 years They added online reporting and we were so excited but quality went way way down The online reports don t make sense and don t match the real numbers New features like promotions and major groups are confusing and don t work Support doesn t understand what is going on either Sometimes the guy in charge of the app jumps in good luck talking to him you ll find out where the confusion starts Try to learn a little bit about restaurants Crashes are way way up We already paid for it but we are switching to another P O S We can t waste more time and money on their mistakes hoping they find out whats going on with their P iece O f S     what happened jessf587
Support is via email only so that s the first issue Most of their responses only refer you back to the online articles or videos If you have a problem not addressed there then you re SOL because then they have no idea how to fix it Try powering down your device and restarting it is the most common reply Absolutely the worse customer support ever A restaurant POS that doesn t allow for an easy comp 4 hours to receive a password reset email Menu items that just disappear after being used for two days Save your money and just go back to aloha or micros There s a reason why no big names are using any of these iPad based systems     Horrible support funkmiester3

As previous review I mentioned the misprint kitchen tickets and occasional hub disconnections After I updated out iPad to iOS 8 1 and Ambur 2 1 1 the system is 95 rock solid a few hiccups once in a while but it does not interrupt the service I am giving Ambur 5 stars for its best price enough features don t need other bells and whistles and reliability I m happy now I chose Ambur                     Revised review after update iOS 8 1 and Ambur 2 1 1 LOUDD

This is actually a good product when working correctly Seems after we recover from one update filled with glitches we are thrown another I have learned my lesson now to wait a couple weeks after new updates to see what s up So far new update has at least 4 glitches my staff has pointed out The worse part is the frustration of these glitches showing themselves in the middle of a busy service Some glitches can cost me especially when calculations aren t performed properly or mysterious orders and items completely disappearing You want to ask yourself DO THEY REALLY TEST THESE BEFORE RELEASE             Another update another headache Help808080

Yes version 2 0 doesn t work at all unless it s the hub We ve been doing our best to keep it moving but this version limits you to just the hub splits don t work well cannot reopen closed orders sometimes it looks like orders are sent to the kitchen but are not The developers know this and are awaiting Apple to approve version 2 0 1 but until then this is frustrating on the owners managers employees and especially the customers Waiting patiently till the update because it s all we can do This is a great app it s just this version that stinks     Frustration Hi ppo

We updated our main iPad 4 one of our iPad Minis and my iPhone The main iPad 4 which we use as the hub ran very slow as soon as you open Ambur 2 0 the order screen pops up then seconds later the login screen Trying to make an order was very slow then trying to link my iPhone and the iPad Mini to the hub would crash on both devices and then say that the wifi signal is too weak We are right next to our router and I tried everything to get it back up and still same issue     Very Slow and will not link other devices Uh Yana

I have been using Ambur as a server at a small restaurant and bar for almost a year now It is a pretty good system and definitely better than not having a computerized POS system which can be hard for a small business to afford but it could really use a few essential features We have been waiting for them to update this program since we got it We were told it would be by last summer and they still haven t done it The biggest problem is that one needs to be able to assign seat numbers to ordered items This is essential for any restaurant where another worker may be running a server s food or drinks which should be all of them Teamwork is key This is also an important feature for splitting checks Most POS systems have an option to split a check by seat numbers This saves an immense amount of time In Amber a server must remember who got what or take clear written notes and keep track of them and then she must drag each item down over the whole check to split it off This is very time consuming and customers can get upset waiting for their separate checks Even if one does this before the table is ready to go it eats up a ton of time best used helping other guests Another feature I would really like to see is the addition of a separate menu for item modifiers that can be accessed while entering any item As it is you have to program modifiers to either pop up each time an item is entered or not It would save a lot of time to have a menu one can access only as needed Modifiers are key for quick communication but you don t want to have to click past them every time you enter an item and don t need them I also agree with a previous reviewer that there is a lot of wasted screen space This causes the user to have to scroll down a lot The set up works well with a smaller iphone screen but when using an ipad there is a lot of extra space that could be used much more efficiently However I don t think this would be that big of a problem if the other issues were addressed On the plus side I do think that the system is fairly easy to use and intuitive if one is computer especially MAC savvy Another good feature that Ambur has which I haven t seen on any other POS system I ve used is that a server can clock out with a table still open This is great for the very common situation where a server is all finished except has one table just hanging out Instead of having to transfer the table to another server and loose their tip or wait around on the clock on Ambur one can clock out then go back later and enter that table s payment or have a co worker manager do so A great feature All in all this is a great foundation for a POS system a small business can afford but please Ambur update it and add seat numbers at least             Pretty good needs some features broxtermonster

We are a restaurant and bar that has been using Ambur since July of 2013 We do around 400 covers per week We have been pleased with this system and haven t had any major issues since we started using Ambur It was very quick to set up I do recommend using someone with a good technical background and our severs quickly mastered the skills necessary to use the system We currently have three iPads 4 printers and 1 cash drawer in use but will expand with 2 more iPads and Printers and 1 more cash station soon We recommend it If it doesn t work for you the equipment you buy will be usable in other iPad based systems so you are only out the license fee That is what go us to try it in the first place No contract and no monthly fees and reusable equipment                 BoodaLu Boodalu

I have been using Ambur for almost 1 year We do breakfast and lunch only 7 days a week Setting up the menu takes careful thought The best way for set up is to keep a months worth of orders handy to help with the modifiers To set up the system was a breeze with all apple products Running live went very smooth We have had a few small issues that the Ambur Team has been very responsive to They are eager to help and take the time to listen At this time there is no way to do a register pay out or manually key in a credit card but I have been assured that it will come in an update I would say that the most difficult thing that we have had to deal with are the customers Change is difficult for many They think that the servers are texting I have put out a letter explaining the new system and that seems to have helped The kitchen loves the less traffic and not having to decipher handwriting I am excited about this and looking forward to the updates to come We went live with AMBUR the week prior or Labor Day which is a busy week I kept the old cash register on the counter just in case I never needed it No one on the staff is a techie and they were all nervous After 2 hours most of the fitters were gone and at day 3 the cash register was retired after 15 long years The AMBUR team responds quickly to all emails and phone calls during their operating hours They have been very receptive to options that I feel are important to my business We are a very very busy little diner and this system ROCKS Thanks TEAM AMBUR I m not sure why Rick7872 would say that he hasn t been able to get ahold of anyone To CrockPot2013 if you had problems disconnecting from the hub you either have your hub too far away or there is interference Yes occasionally we have a hub issue but it is quickly resolved by restarting the router                     Ambur rocks NYBonnie

We own and operate 3 full service restaurants with this app We use it for take out dine in call in delivery It gives the owner all the reports u need to visualize store sales item popularity payroll reports and is great for keeping track of your customers previous orders It can function even when your Internet connection is down which is a major reason why we chose amber When Internet connection is down u would need a dial terminal to process credit card transactions The app is very user friendly and has made our new employee training much easier since the prices are all programmed in and you can create descriptions for each menu item The power of this app from a owners prospective is amazing for the price We use 7 iPads as terminals and managers use iPhones to void orders and to remotely open cash drawers when needed All iPads n iPhones must be on the same network to work We recommend using AirPort Extreme routers bc it makes setup a breeze Also we recommend using thermal printers over the standard The standard impact printers are loud and don t print as well as the thermal printers Only downside of thermal printers is the cost of paper and you have to keep the paper away from extreme heat We strongly recommend amber app for small business owners wanting to gain more control of your everyday business functions Great app                     Best pos app Great support Bambooligan

Ambur POS is an inexpensive way for my 50 seat restaurant to operate It doesnt have all the bells and whistles of Micros or and other PC based pos However its fairly efficient and covers all of you necessary bases when it comes to being a full service restaurant Id say the main issues are speed and the layout is a little counterintuitive You can link other devices to your main device instead of paying for a brand new license for each device While this is an amazing cost effective feature it is a little buggy and not super reliable Overall Ambur is great for smaller cost conscious restaurants Their IT and support staff are very friendly and super helpful              Not too shabby

We have been using this POS for almost a year now and it has works very well It is very easy for our servers to use and understand When they updated it to 20 there were some issues that caused some major problems but they got them taken care of and now it works great with 202 Im not worried about anymore problems like that happening with any future updates The best thing about this app is that they will be updating it often to add more features so it will always be getting better and staying up to date Looking forward to the next update                 Great app
I feel like the other two reviews of this version were written by ambur This version is better than 20 and 201 however the hub still crashes It loses communication with printers often It crashes when using iPhones especially when using more than one Now theyve decided they should beta test the next update first Why they didnt do that in the first place is beyond me This app will cost you more in the long run Think of the revenue you will lose due to comps Spend a little more on a system that has support Until they fix the problems with this version dont waste your money Read the posts by others on their Facebook page This POS will cost you a lot more in the long run If they fix their issues its a great system but until then shop around this version is not worth the headaches        Still not fixed

I think this version 20 is absolutely amazing I love the buttons instead of the scrolling as you can see more on each page Being able to toggle back and forth to the table layout is a plus I also like the fact that you can see the menu prices next to the item This was the first POS that we have ever had We got used to 10 so weve just had to learn where the new buttons are I have never regretted purchasing this POS system                 Manager

We own and operate 3 full service restaurants with this app We use it for take out dine in call in delivery It gives the owner all the reports u need to visualize store sales item popularity payroll reports and is great for keeping track of your customers previous orders It can function even when your Internet connection is down which is a major reason why we chose amber When Internet connection is down u would need a dial terminal to process credit card transactions The app is very user friendly and has made our new employee training much easier since the prices are all programmed in and you can create descriptions for each menu item The power of this app from a owners prospective is amazing for the price We use 7 iPads as terminals and managers use iPhones to void orders and to remotely open cash drawers when needed All iPads n iPhones must be on the same network to work We recommend using AirPort Extreme routers bc it makes setup a breeze Also we recommend using thermal printers over the standard The standard impact printers are loud and dont print as well as the thermal printers Only downside of thermal printers is the cost of paper and you have to keep the paper away from extreme heat We strongly recommend amber app for small business owners wanting to gain more control of your everyday business functions Great app                 Best pos app Great support
Ambur POS is a great easy to set up and use system It serves our business very well The support team is very helpful and have guided me through set up and operation I agree with other reviewers about assigning seat numbers That is a key feature that is needed A few more report options would be helpful such as a report to track discounts The absence of these features is the only reason I am not giving a 100 rating Ambur is such a great system that we will soon be adding at our other 3 restaurants Kudos to the developers for a great affordable system and going the extra mile with support              Great POS
This is the worst POS system I have used I have 2 restaurants and have winPos in them They are fast paced restaurants and if you are using ambur you are going to be disappointed Try seating a party of 12 and splitting checks on ambur Its a freaking nightmare No option to manually key in cards Constantly losing connections with hub If u have a sloooooooow business then maybe this is ok I switched systems to the day of install It was that bad Hopefully my terminals will arrive soon Dont waste your money     Dont Buy this

Pros I purchased Ambur for my 40 seat restaurantbar and am so happy I did The application is very easy to use program maintain during service I was able to adapt the entire application to my floor plan and menu in a few hours The reporting has made my server closing paperwork effortless It is also great to be able to email all reports for accounting and tracking I would highly recommend this application for any small restaurantbar that needs an entry level POS system I was using hand written checks for the first few months and I can say that since I bought Ambur life has been much easier Cons As I said above the current version of Ambur is still an entry level POS system Currently it is not possible to print seat numbers on the tickets and it is also not easy to course the meal I understand that the new version of Ambur that will be released soon should fix some of these issues Reports are also supposed to be updated and revised in the new version There is no way as I can tell so far to see how many covers were done in a shift There are also several other minor issues with the reports that I understand will be updated in the new version Overall I have to give credit to the developers of this app because it is really great right now especially for the value and I can only imagine it will get even better with version 20 I have called for support twice and both times have been 100 satisfied with the support Thanks to everyone at the Ambur team for making my life a bit easier Dziękuję              ChefOwner

The search bar and add customer button disappeared from the the customer tab no longer able to add customer to orders Auto logout from Ambur after resume from sleep have to reconnect and login Wheres the quality control     Failed again
We operate a popular food truck in Boston The Dining Car Ambur helped record our very first sale two years ago and every sale since It is an extraordinarily helpful tool We are very happy with it We did extensive research into POS systems before the launch of our business Many people recommended old school restaurant solutions such as Micros I figured that in addition to the much higher cost a food truck is a terrible environment for traditional commuter hardware its too delicate and often takes too much space We liked having control of our own data and we liked the freedom that the iPad offered as a hardware platform We chose Ambur Ambur is comprehensive and elegant Heres how we use it Our staff clocks in we manage shifts and payroll with Ambur In the winter customers come to our window and place their orders We quickly record their order in Ambur from items on our current menu easily adding notes to the kitchen for special orders The order prints at the prep station we quickly take payment swiping credit cards right on the iPad and we can print a receipt for the customer if desired In the warmer months we take orders from outside the truck The wireless network allows our staff to interact directly with our customers on the street People are often curious and delighted to see how we are using the technology Ambur is easily scalable At festivals when we have dozens of hungry people lined up to order we can send a second staff member out to take orders Any iPhone can quickly and easily become a device in our Ambur POS system How cool is that Ambur has great reporting features that enables us to track sales by day time location menu item etc It allows us to have a better understanding of our business We depend on it I have rarely written a review like this in a public forum but Ansar and the employees on the Ambur team have been responsive and helpful beyond measure They make a great product that they sell for a good price it continues to get even betterfor no added fee and they care about their customers Thats worth shouting about                 Ambur is integral to our business Its a great value and an incredible tool
As previous review I mentioned the misprint kitchen tickets and occasional hub disconnections After I updated out iPad to iOS 81 and Ambur 211 the system is 95 rock solid a few hiccups once in a while but it does not interrupt the service I am giving Ambur 5 stars for its best price enough features dont need other bells and whistles and reliability Im happy now I chose Ambur                 Revised review after update iOS 81 and Ambur 211
We are a 50 seat sit down old fashioned ice cream shop We have a very large menu with lunch food as well as tons of sundaes Ambur handles our many modifiers such as candy nuts and liquid toppings with ease Our servers only have to come back to the kitchen to pick up orders Ambur with iPad minis keep them on the floor helping customers The orders come into the kitchen so much quicker it has improved our turnover rate of the tables and increased the speed at the Take Out line We have been using Ambur for a year now and we could not be happier What a great system and most of all great tech support Great POS system that doesnt cost a fortune Thank you Ambur team for a great POS                 Great POS

DO NOT BUY They released ambur 20 on Monday which is completely a junk None of my computer can connect to Hub cause huge problem for the restaurant Called ambur so many times nobody will answer the phone all they do just tell us on their blog is the fixed version has been send to Apple Really Until Friday still not fix Unbelievable how can you do that to your customers We have hundreds of hunger customers come to the door Do you know how angry they are if they can not get their food on time Shame on you     The worst
When modifiers drop constantly tickets dont print to kitchen and items randomly disappear off your menu your kitchen suffers creating waste and angry customers I wish I new how much money Ambur has actually cost my business With out 247 technical support or any one that cares even when they are responding Not to mention not testing their updates before they releases them Do not get this POS system Do not buy this crap It may jeopardize your business     Could ruin your business

I am glad to have found Ambur for our POS needs I am a Pharmacist who set up a neighborhood Espresso Bar with An Indian restaurant called FoodIndia in Columbus Ohio Ambur to me came as a headache relief as we were looking for a not so expensive register POS System Our needs were a modern pos device that was easily expandable and Having a small footprint I like the simplicity and groundup approach of the developers of the app in thinking through the nuts and holds of all the requirements of a restaurant pos without any technical knowledge being a iPad user I was able to easily program the dishes and menu pricing I had a free backup database available as part of the software the payroll and employee management was great saved me tons of payroll as were were able to monitor and manage shifts also saved me time on getting a time clock and related consumables I was able to train my new employees within a shift to be able to use the Ambur POS I have not worked before in a restaurant or seen a Pos at work I have had the only opportunity of seeing receipts being printed from huge computer monitors and clutters of cables at restaurants that we eat often hence cant compare any other system Lastly for somebody new Ambur Restaurant Pos is one great app Qudos to the developers                 Restaurant pos made simple and scalable

I have been using Ambur for almost 1 year We do breakfast and lunch only 7 days a week Setting up the menu takes careful thought The best way for set up is to keep a months worth of orders handy to help with the modifiers To set up the system was a breeze with all apple products Running live went very smooth We have had a few small issues that the Ambur Team has been very responsive to They are eager to help and take the time to listen At this time there is no way to do a register payout or manually key in a credit card but I have been assured that it will come in an update I would say that the most difficult thing that we have had to deal with are the customers Change is difficult for many They think that the servers are texting I have put out a letter explaining the new system and that seems to have helped The kitchen loves the less traffic and not having to decipher handwriting I am excited about this and looking forward to the updates to come We went live with AMBUR the week prior or Labor Day which is a busy week I kept the old cash register on the counter just in case I never needed it No one on the staff is a techie and they were all nervous After 2 hours most of the fitters were gone and at day 3 the cash register was retired after 15 long years The AMBUR team responds quickly to all emails and phone calls during their operating hours They have been very receptive to options that I feel are important to my business We are a very very busy little diner and this system ROCKS Thanks TEAM AMBUR Im not sure why Rick7872 would say that he hasnt been able to get ahold of anyone To CrockPot2013 if you had problems disconnecting from the hub you either have your hub too far away or there is interference Yes occasionally we have a hub issue but it is quickly resolved by restarting the router                 Ambur rocks
We have been using this app since January 2013 and have been very pleased It is a great affordable POS option for independent restaurants No ongoing service contracts or monthly fees We are takeout and delivery and the customer database works great for maintaining customer information During peak times we can connect an additional iPad and additional iPhones The program is completely customizable to meet specific needs and very user friendly Although the setup was timeconsuming you dont have to be a techy to do it And you can easily change prices menu items etc Given there are no ongoing service contracts I was not expecting the customer servicetech support to be great but I have been very impressed The few times we have had questions we have gotten email responses within a few hours And the one time we did have a major issue which was totally an Apple problem not an Ambur problem Amburs support person stayed on the phone for nearly an hour with me getting it resolved Very knowledgeable and patient I highly recommend this app It is a fraction of the price of most other quality POS systems You dont have to pay someone to set it up or make changes And for those with experience on iPads and iPhones it is a breeze to use We love it                 Great App
We updated our main iPad 4 one of our iPad Minis and my iPhone The main iPad 4 which we use as the hub ran very slow as soon as you open Ambur 20 the order screen pops up then seconds later the login screen Trying to make an order was very slow then trying to link my iPhone and the iPad Mini to the hub would crash on both devices and then say that the wifi signal is too weak We are right next to our router and I tried everything to get it back up and still same issue     Very Slow and will not link other devices

I have been using Ambur as a server at a small restaurant and bar for almost a year now It is a pretty good system and definitely better than not having a computerized POS system which can be hard for a small business to afford but it could really use a few essential features We have been waiting for them to update this program since we got it We were told it would be by last summer and they still havent done it The biggest problem is that one needs to be able to assign seat numbers to ordered items This is essential for any restaurant where another worker may be running a servers food or drinks which should be all of them Teamwork is key This is also an important feature for splitting checks Most POS systems have an option to split a check by seat numbers This saves an immense amount of time In Amber a server must remember who got what or take clear written notes and keep track of them and then she must drag each item down over the whole check to split it off This is very timeconsuming and customers can get upset waiting for their separate checks Even if one does this before the table is ready to go it eats up a ton of time best used helping other guests Another feature I would really like to see is the addition of a separate menu for item modifiers that can be accessed while entering any item As it is you have to program modifiers to either pop up each time an item is entered or not It would save a lot of time to have a menu one can access only as needed Modifiers are key for quick communication but you dont want to have to click past them every time you enter an item and dont need them I also agree with a previous reviewer that there is a lot of wasted screen space This causes the user to have to scroll down a lot The setup works well with a smaller iphone screen but when using an ipad there is a lot of extra space that could be used much more efficiently However I dont think this would be that big of a problem if the other issues were addressed On the plus side I do think that the system is fairly easy to use and intuitive if one is computer especially MAC savvy Another good feature that Ambur has which I havent seen on any other POS system Ive used is that a server can clock out with a table still open This is great for the very common situation where a server is all finished except has one table just hanging out Instead of having to transfer the table to another server and loose their tip or wait around on the clock on Ambur one can clock out then go back later and enter that tables payment or have a coworkermanager do so A great feature All in all this is a great foundation for a POS system a small business can afford but please Ambur update it and add seat numbers at least           Pretty good needs some features

Yes version 20 doesnt work at all unless its the hub Weve been doing our best to keep it moving but this version limits you to just the hub splits dont work well cannot reopen closed orders sometimes it looks like orders are sent to the kitchen but are not The developers know this and are awaiting Apple to approve version 201 but until then this is frustrating on the owners managers employees and especially the customers Waiting patiently till the update because its all we can do This is a great app its just this version that stinks     Frustration
This is actually a good product when working correctly Seems after we recover from one update filled with glitches we are thrown another I have learned my lesson now to wait a couple weeks after new updates to see whats up So far new update has at least 4 glitches my staff has pointed out The worse part is the frustration of these glitches showing themselves in the middle of a busy service Some glitches can cost me especially when calculations arent performed properly or mysterious orders and items completely disappearing You want to ask yourself DO THEY REALLY TEST THESE BEFORE RELEASE           Another update another headache

I really like the Ambur system because its so easy to use Although Ive had some wifi issues the system works very well and I like the various options for permissions etc I recommend this product for someone who needs a straightforward system without a lot of confusing n notveryuseful bells and whistles Btw the tech support crew is great Not 24 hour service but they respond quickly and are very patient with beginners                 Its Easy
