Fantastic app with a lot of awesome info that is incredibly helpful I agree with the above poster though about the background making me sick Theres got to be a better background picture that can be used thats not raw meat Make it green and leafy                 Great

Why create an app like this and then use a revolting background image of flesh I will not use or recommend the app unless the carcass is changed     Disgusting image

Tried scanning multiple items nothing worked I thought I was doing it wrong but 3 other similar apps I downloaded worked fine The list included was shorter than I thought as well        Scanner No Good

Recently new to the vegan community and appreciate the convenience and easy use of the app to help ease the transition although agree with changing the background for the animal products                 Great App

My boyfriend and I really like the alphabetized database of items and the clever AllAlwaysSometimes filter but the poorly working scanner was so very aggravating We tried the app on TEN various items in our pantry with only two even scanning Im glad this app was free because the scanner is SUCH a deal breaker If you successfully fix the scanner sensitivity issue wed gladly pay money for the update     Love the IDEA of this app but

I got this app and was pretty excited to be able to scan barcodes when shopping and tell at a glance what kind of animal product is in it I tried scanning a powerade bottle just to test the scanner The app crashed So I went shopping and everything I scanned like 10 items ranging from cereal to candy to wine made the app crash except 2 that never scanned and my hand just got tired of holding the phone over the barcode TLDR dont bother with this app     Ugh

Probably has useful info but only looked at a few before I deleted it The raw meat background is too revolting           Please change the meat background

The wallpaper of raw meat actually makes this app undesirable I know that it has lots of great info but it makes me sick to look at it     Need to change backdrop

Not too fond of looking at that but I definitely think this app is very convenient for beginning vegans but one thing I would like to suggest is adding a picture to each item on the Vegan Ingredients side just so I dont have to go back and google up the product to visualize a better picture              Raw meat background

Love the idea If it worked Always freezes and so far I have only managed to scan 1 product and it didnt know wheter or not it was vegan Cannot scan cans and it relies on the opinion of other costumers which can be mistaken Many fellow vegans dont know that condoms refined sugars and such are not vegan Or many are not aware that some bananas will not be vegan or that some mushrooms are not vegan        Great Ideapoorly developed

I think it has useful info I think Im not too sure because the carcass pic in the background scares me away from digging into the app too much see the 3rd promo pic Its not likely to be changed since there hasnt been an update since 2011           Carcass in background

I have had this app for a while and it has really useful info however the scanner is just annoying It doesnt work most of the time and when it does once in forever thus I dont know why I keep trying the item is not in the database           Fix scanner please

While Ill agree the raw meat background is just distracting and gross it is still a pretty good app I was previously a vegetarian and am working to become vegan This app is helpful but is in desperate need of an update          

I am giving this app two start because the scanner didnt work at all and when I entered product names into the search bar it found very few things BUT I believe if more work is put into it it would be a wonderful app Fix these problems and you will be doing fine        Potential

Ive used these several times I dont like the background And I find myself googling things anyway           An app to have around at least till a better one comes

Terrible Everything you scan its not in the data base and the background of raw mean is nasty AF Need a better app and need it soon If I could Id give this app no stars

It helps me to known actually what is in the meat I commonly eat It really persuaded me to be a vegetarian or meat reducer which is probably a good thing However the scanner does not work If you ever create an updated version of Animal Free can you please fix the scanner Thanks              I love this app

I really love the idea behind this app and its an amazing one I understand that there are a lot of things out there that needs to be scanned and Im okay with that but one big change that would be good is when putting new information in on a new scan you can look on the boxcan at the ingredients and search them or select them for the item The reason for this is to make the difference between vegetarian and vegan           I would love it

if the background wasnt dead flesh otherwise very useful              would be five stars

The only problem I can see with this app is that the product items are submitted by users not trained researchers who have traced a products ingredients Its cool to scan bar codes and come up with answers but beware of the answers as you would Wikipedia which has the same limitation of authority Its also very cool to be able to add products that I like but I would feel more comfortable if there was someone making sure something was really vegan before adding it to the database I have given 4 stars so as not to drive people away but until I know more about whether there is anyone checking up on things I think its more like 3 or 3 and a half If I learn that there is someone keeping an eye on it and researching items and products that rating will go up              Nice but is it authoritative

The bar code would be AMAZING except it doesnt work well Should like into the My Fitness Pal app technology That thing scans bar codes so easily Secondly should add ability to select which ingredient makes the product not vegan during rating Overall great premise I cant wait to see the food directory fill up more so that there are easier references for more foods           Great idea needs some work
