Just updated and it crashes on my iPhone 6 and iPad Developer needs to roll back Because I cant control my device anymore     Crashes Shouldnt have updated

Although a little clunky in the regions version this one crashes consistently Unfortunate     Current version crashes

After updating to this version the app crashes as soon as the loading screen disappears I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app with no resolution I cant understand how such a major bug made it through testing     App crashes on launch

I have the same timer issues as stated by another user fix the app and 5 stars all day           the hardware is great the app needs work

This is a joke Major press release about the SeriousEats collaboration and app update Instead app is STILL low resolution and not iPad compatible and it cant even be rotated to landscape on the iPad Ridiculously bad Dont you know that tons of people use iPads in their kitchens Bad job Anova     Seriously Still no iPad support or rotation

I upgrade because there were a ton of bugs But at least it opened and worked somewhat This will not open AT ALL Closescrashes immediately after opening And to think I was hopeful for this app     DO NOT UPGRADE

This app was fairly rudimentary just a few month ago With each release theyve added more and more features They are clearly spending time on app development which is key for the hardware As a novice the addition of the Serious Eats cooking guides are very welcome I look forward to future releases but for the time this is a very capable adjunct to the cooker              Slow cooking just like your food

App tells me that the temp is reached when I am at 90 degF actual with a 128degF set point Also it is too easy to shut off the unit Setting the temp shuts off the unit Touching the temp reading shuts off the unit It is easier to just set the thing with the jog dial since the effective range for Bluetooth is about walking distance anyhow But the device itself is solid the app has a nice look and feel and Serious Eats integration is a very exciting addition I hope they hammer out the bugs so I can update my review        Promising but buggy

This app works nothing like the video from the website Its really hard to navigate Search option does nothing The cooker is great but the app is Bullsht     Disappointed

Thanks for fixing App no longer crashes Updated review still love the app there are some improvements that can be made with the pairing but the recipe collections are amazing I can find whatever I need to sous vide right in this app So excited about the steak recipes from Serious Eats Also super happy with the excellent salmon recipes from Chef Ming this is our go to app for everyday dinner meals love love love                 Amazing recipes way to help with dinner parties

The Bluetooth pairing with the circulating heater works but whats the purpose of it The app cant put the food in or take it out You need to be physically there to do that And as long you have to physically there why not use the controls on the circulator itself Temperature up temperature down start stop its not so complex that I need an app Maybe it would be nice if youre waiting for your bath to come up to temperature but its Bluetooth so the range is very limited twenty to fifty feet if youre lucky so you cant venture farther away than you can hear the circulator own alarm beep that sounds when the bath reaches temperature It seems to me that this is just connectivity and Bluetooth for the sake of being able to say that you have it not for any real purpose or benefit Oh well The recipe database is nice a bit shallow but I have hopes that Anova will grow it over time The recipes are wellwritten and easytofollow and most dont call do unobtainable ingredients What is really shallow unfortunately is the timetemperature guide But again I have hopes that it Anova will expand it So the app is nice for what it is and I hope it will expand in the future           Nice Recipe Collection

I had a long detailed review but Apple does as they do and its gone Ill try my best to replicate it below 1 Setting time and temp is a pain due to the systems pause feature whenever you click one of those windows If I werent more technically inclined Id just trash the app and move on Luckily Im more curious than anything and figured Id share my knowledge Set your time first Then temp second After doing both hit the play button After your device hits its main temp it you will hear a loud beep Put in your food and theoretically you are good to go I say theoretically because the timer wont actually start Itll just freeze at that time forever If you have the timer freeze issue its because Anova uses a temp drop to try and predict when food has been entered To get around this just fill up your water 34 of the way up let it warm to your set temp add your food and the 14 rest of your water This will create enough of a drop mine was 10 degrees to jumpstart the timer 2 My recommendation to Anova is to do three things that will make the app worth a five star rating Put temp and time settings in the same window This will prevent the pausing issue that pisses so many people off Give it a big redgreen stopstart button Give the timer its own startstop button This will help anyone else when the timer freezes due to not getting enough of a temp variation It will also help if you need to go back and resetchange a time Also give us an option in the settings window to turn onoff the automatic start of the timer Make the timetemp the MAIN window It should be big and easy to see The current design with white text over a black bar at the top is greatfor a secondary window The main one should be huge and easy to see as its essentially the only reason most people are even using the app Look at Apples timer UI for reference I currently love my two Anova cookers 1 first gen 1 precision They are a big step up from my home brew devices and are a huge help when preparing big dinner parties Hopefully this helps others with some of the more common issues that have come up Good Luck Happy Cooking           Decent to good app needs a few tweaks See my timer workaround

While the Anova Culinary Precision Cooker works quite well I have some concerns with the AppBluetooth setup The devs have chosen to make it easy to pair the app and the device but that leaves it open to anyone So if I leave my apartment anyone could hijack my Anova and ruin my dinner There doesnt seem to be a way to completely turn off the bluetooth and prevent other devices from pairing with it No bueno           Some Concerns

The basic app functionality is good but the stupid thing keeps sending me useless notifications that the water is ready for cooking even hours after Ive shut it down        Excessive useless notifications

I love the cooker but the app needs a lot of work 1 Multiple alerts any time I go out of range When I come inside after an hour I dont want to see 25 alerts about the temperature being reached 2 Ability to adjust timetemp wo resetting the recipe Right now it stops the cooker any time I want to add a few minutes or change the temp Really annoying I spent the money to return my first generation cooker when I saw this one was out and now Im starting to wonder if I made the right choice        Cooker is good app is bad

Download the new version and it crashed App is not as useful as I thought it would be It feels as if I am looking through a sample page of a brochure Youre better off downloading chefsteps or look for recipes on YouTube This app could use a little bit more improvement ie More recipes tips and guides And a better friendly user interface I love my anova but the app Thanks but no thanks        Crashed

Horrible app cant believe I fell for the marketing campaign that because this cooker had an app it would be so much easier First of all the app only works half the time Dont trust that it will start the timer when the temp is reached because sometimes it does and other times it doesnt As far as having a good comprehensive temp guide forget it How hard is it to put more basic items in there with the correct time and temp Anova took our money and is not supporting or updating this product     Dont Trust It

The iPhone app was the main selling point for the Anova Precision Cooker Anova promised one touch cooking We were supposed to be able to find the food youre cooking adjust the settings if youd like and press start Where is that EASE of use and functionality As it stands now I need to find the food Im cooking with an internet search find the correct temperature and time input that into the Anova Precision Cooker and start cooking The ONLY useful thing this app does is connect via Bluetooth and allow the setting of temperature and time Also I set the temp on the app and leave my Anova to wait for the water to reach temp I get an alert multiple alerts that the water has reached temp and when I check the Anova it actually hasnthow annoying is that The app they used to market their Cooker is vaporware     This is NOT the app we were promised

Love my precision cooker All the meats come out perfectly and quite tasty Made salmon the other day using a recipe from the Anova which was really helpful and easy to follow Being able to modify and track temptime remotely while sitting on the couch was nice too                 Great product and companion app

The new app version works perfectly and the recipe database is quite nice It would be cool to have better support for iPad however the iPhone version works with iPad too It just does not look as nice as a native iPad one                 New app works perfectly

Just crashes on both my iphone ipad It got as far as asking if notifications were okay but then just crashes     Just crashes on both my iphone ipad

Was going to update the app but my coworker downloaded 18 and it kept crashing within seconds of opening the app It stayed open in airplane mode but the app screen was blank     Crashes upon startup

This app works and then it doesnt Sometimes on iPhone other times in iPad And it should as both are connected to home wifii        Not the most consistent

The app is getting better kind of The current issue is with the most basic function When selecting a recipe and pressing the play button things seem to go smoothly When the device reaches the required temp the timer starts and the app sends a notification water is ready great But then always about five minutes later the app sends another notification water is ready and for some reason the current timer is cancelled re set and not started again Ive found no work around Also why does the device turn off when I press either the timer or temp buttons on the app Seems like it could at least remain idle while I make adjustments Keep working on it The actual device is built and cooks great The app should reflect that quality        Basic Functions Are Not Working

This crashes upon opening on iPad Air 2 and iPad Air If you like this app as I do you may want to hold off updating and give them a chance to fix this     Dont update

It works I can read and adjust the temperature I can see the timer and set the timer It seems to have other uses but it does what I need it to do I live in a 1400ft home so my BT stays in range              Works

What a letdown Device is convoluted and hard to set so I thought this app will help Then I ran it I also waited for the update Now after Ive seen what their iOS developer can do I deleted it It might as well not waste the space on my iPhone Even the recipe layout is confusing Wow in just how many ways can you do this programming and design wrong I mean wow it is SO bad     A useless piece of trash

Amazing item App connected super easily But I couldnt figure out the timer function I picked my recipe via the app sent it to my anova and it headed for the right temp When it got there i got the alert but could not get the timer to start It said it would start automatically which I can see some issues with that too but did not When I hit the play button to see if that started the timer it shut off the unit What am I missing           Great item app connects easily few issues
