Travel back to the 1980s as a superpowered defender of justice in this all-new edition of Steve Jackson`s Appointment With F.E.A.R. This dynamic edition is stylized as an interactive graphic novel. Your choices guide you ...
This game doesn t feel like a typical Tin Man game The writing is occasionally cleverly ironic in its overt obviousness making fun of stereotypical superhero dialog but it not the creative story telling that surrounds the imagination that you encounter in most game books             great presentation not Tin Man s best to date Big Voice
For a gamebook writing is key Unfortunately for this particular gamebook the writing is absolutely dreadful Things are often repeated in the same sentence they were introduced Courageously dodging your grab radiation dog leans away from your grab That s just redundant Did the creators fail to check the writing on this one Seriously it s terrible I expect much better writing from something like this especially tin man games             Looks great horrible writing Sirkillawatt
Update 9 18 14 All bugs are fixed There is a lot more depth to explore in this gamebook from random elements to the choice of initial powers unlocking some unique solutions and even some serious dangers Older review On the iPhone FEAR crashes after about two minutes earned luck points disappear and FEAR cards and achievements do not appear When these are fixed it deserves a higher rating                 Fun and fixed SC2009
Interesting idea but story was more frustrating than fun The story is just too random and dependent on a collection of choices that you need to get right by luck rather than previously gathered information         ehh Lh..........
It sounds like a fun app but even with the update I can t even start the game I get to the preload screen but then the app crashes I tried starting it several times but it keeps crashing at this point     Can t start 101fanatic
Update Still crashes sometimes although not as much as previously but now a bunch of other bugs have popped up that have actually made the game less playable The worst bug deletes your progress and sticks you back at the beginning or crashes whenever you try to abandon a game and restart so you effectively can t play a different character had to re install to start a new game Also lots of issues with various stats going down for no reason or not going back up All in all the last update actually made the game less playable for me Technical Issues Currently crashes a lot F E A R Cards and achievements are not actually saved Luck Points seem to disappear for no reason incorrect character portrait appears sometimes after crashes not sure if this was supposed to integrate with Game Center like previous FF titles but if it was it doesn t Issues There is no real main menu the game just begins and you can access the non functioning extras by clicking on the top left of course this throws you back to the last save point see below previous FF titles with main screens worked much better no rules explanations like in previous FF games there are save points but this system is vastly inferior to the previous FF games bookmark system and with all the crashes especially this results in having to click through the same sequences over and over again no original artwork or multiple difficulty levels like in previous FF games combat system quickly gets boring I know the digital dice had limitations but they were vastly superior to just descriptors and does not follow original book s restriction on not killing villains by having to aim to only reduce them to 1 or 2 Stamina luck stat has been reduced to just a way to get extras but does not affect game results stamina always starts at 20 and is no longer randomly created during character generation not sure if Skill is randomly assigned for 3 of the 4 powers since character generation process is not clear unlike previous FF games skill checks are now just a pass fail box with no indication of difficulty where you are simply informed of the results The comic style smaller text blurbs visually look great but also result in having to keep tapping the screen over and over again to get to the next decision point Good Things Having your alter ego just be a picture of you in costume with a hat and glasses overlaid is a nice touch the comic book style blurbs looks nice being able to choose gender costume color scheme hero physical appearance and a randomized super hero name is great Summary Once the major bugs are fixed I will add another star but probably no more If this were a first FF release by this company I might have been more forgiving but having seen and bought the previous FF titles I know what this game could have been and the version they have released just seems like a step backwards It is still a fairly entertaining game but if this is how future FF titles will be handled it will probably be my last FF purchase from TinMan     Feels Like a Step Backwards Fan4F.F.
As someone who collected all the Choose Your Own Adventure books growing up GameBooks such as this one really appeal to me Unfortunately in its current state F E A R Is utterly unplayable due to frequent crashing The game saves automatically but this rarely prevents you from having to replay significant portions of the story Please Developers Fix all the crashing and this becomes a Must Buy 5 star App         PLEASE FIX THE CRASHING Thaddius Fapper
See title pretty much sums it up         A great game THAT CRASHES CONSTANTLY salesninja
Won t make it past the splash screen     Won t even open Icowboyup
This app is so much fun The comic letter boxes zoom by and there are so many choices to make It s a lot of fun but it crashes so much If the devs can fix that one thing it will be one of the best apps in the store                 So Close to Perfect Wallabee Champ
App just says Loading for an hour and does not run on my iPad mini retina with the latest iOS Tried restarting and clearing all other apps I also have a wifi connection to the internet with plenty of bandwidth     App just says Loading for an hour and does not run g@megirl
It is very good and freah gamebook format The best so far from tin man They not just port physical gamebook to ipad format but made an all new ui for it and they nailed it Good job tin man Keep it up                     Tin man s best gamebook format febriew
This game is fantastically well done choose your own adventure fare Humor action hard choices and a dynamic presentation make it a thoroughly enjoyable and fresh mobile gaming experience Unfortunately it s crashy as all get out I can t play for more than a few minutes without experiencing a crash even after rebooting my device Once the devs fix the crashing issue I d recommend this game as a five star top offering in the App Store No brainer purchase In the mean time it s worth picking up even with its technical problems but steel yourself for some bumps along the way             Awesome but crashy Nephster
Game looks like fun if I could actually play Crashes after 1 minute If I m lucky then maybe 2 minutes Please fix I want to like this game     Constant crashes unplayable ח.ק.
It always crashes at the beginning when I try to name my character I would enjoy it if it wasn t for that I hope you guys fix Thank you                 Has potential buuut Too many crashes Godofdim
The original gamebook from the 1980s was one of my favorites and this adaptation is better in pretty much every conceivable way The illustrated comic book elements work well the art is good and complements the writing and it feels well like a superhero simulator There are so many delightful touches the 1960s style pause screen the hat and glasses secret identity the amusing achievements that it s constantly charming It s not flawless I d love for the ability to speed more quickly through areas I ve already encountered but at a cost comparable to a digital comic this is an absolute no brainer purchase It ll provide MUCH more enjoyment and re playability than Random Super Hero Comic 217                     An Amazingly Fun Game Steven J M
This is based on a choose your own adventure book game It s very fun if your into that sort of thing and also if you love comics It s fun reading the story and it s addicting to see what happens next                     Cool game SnazzyE
