Louvre Audio Guide

If you think youre going to do better with the app than the inmuseum guide I dont think so The app is practically useless So very few things have descriptions and they are so disorganized its just not worth it The Louvre is huge with dozen and dozens of rooms on 4 levels The app should be searchable by room number its not It should give more information about more pieces it doesnt Except for the things they have deemed worthy there is no information Youd get more simply by looking up items on your own Perhaps cheaper for that data than the 199 for the app One star is all I can muster     Not worth the

This app is more expensive than it appears and more of a hassle What you get for the initial price is a simple walkthrough guide with descriptions to about three dozen masterpieces Thats all For everything else you have to purchase and then download the tours you want They say that you can download the newly purchased tours at the museum via their own wifi but we couldnt make it work In other words you have to decide at your hotel which exhibits you want and purchase them there and then go to the museum For less money and less hassle just rent the headset at the Louvre     Just rent the headset at the museum

Waste of money better rent the audio tour at the museum this app provides very very limited info        Do not buy it

I was at Louvre last month and skipped the audio tour line to just go walk the halls Then realized Id like to know some more about a particular painting I downloaded right in the halls and didnt have to go back Not all the pieces are covered but still a good alternative if your already in the halls              Simple and easy

Did masterpieces tour and that was good great and informative narration good directions Except we spent a good amount of time trying to find Rafaels piece only to realize it wasnt there Good there are maps Need to improve do more tours should be at least 15 Allow one to build own tour with maps directions Need wifi in the building as most museums doRijksmuseum app was very useful Allow me to input an item or case and get a description Create a where am I now feature the museum is huge and it is ez to get lost        Good start needs work

This app is for the museums benefit in terms of cafes and attractions If you want great information about the art itself this is not for you Plus it only covers about 2 of the content and its labeled the mustsees I expected more     WASTE OF TIME

loaded onto itouch expecting to use it at the louvre and Internet connection is required which is not available at the louvre my bad     waste

I got to the Louvre which has wifi But the wifi only works to buy the app When you open it it says it needs to download the content and the wifi at the louvre wont let me Wasted money     Buy in advance

Thought I was getting a full blown audio tour Limited info at best Use the money to rent the audio guide at the museum     Waste of money

The very first screen on this app lets you choose your language and after 15 minutes I still cant get English to appear on the page Long enough to touch and select it It just keeps bouncing up out of sight I can choose any other language Frustrating and useless     Cant select English

The master piece tour was surprisingly short and only included 56 paintings of the thousands available The must sees tour was totally unorganized One had to click on each icon in a long list to see which wing and floor an object was located It should have had all the object organized by wing and sub organized by floor so you dont was so much time trying to find a must see Next time Ill rent the museum audio guide        Louvre Audio Tour

While in the entry area at the Louvre under the pyramid I saw the signs advertising this app I downloaded the app When I tried to download the audio content I kept getting an error message no internet connection I was never able to download the content after many tries so it was a clear waste of money and of my time while I was there     Could not make it work in the Louvre

Its not an audio guide Its not a video guide Its 3 for nothing Buy the audio guide inside     Do not buy this

WARNING All positive reviews of this app are fake If you are reading this before purchasing DONT BUY THE APP The content is interesting but the App is totally useless because there is no way to match up the content with the exhibits We expected the app to help guide us or at least tell us were the must see items are Nope You dont need the app if you are stuck wandering aimlessly The app has the ability to call up a room number but even that feature is stupid First there are no room numbers in the museum But if you do happen to guess a room number it only shows you a location on a PDF map not were you are and there is no way to get any exhibit information It is obvious they did not test this before they released it And what incentive is there to make it better when unsuspecting people like me keep paying them money for nothing     Terrible App Waste of money

The English icon is there but it is just a bit too far off screen to actually select Waste of money     Cant get English

I almost gave up trying to download it but Im glad that it finally worked This is a very good app This museum is huge and this app made navigating a breeze It gives very informative descriptions and its much easier to use than the rented audio tours It even knew the exhibits that were currently not on display Just make sure you have enough battery on your device as the app will not play in the background Because of the bad reviews I almost did not get this app Im glad I gave it a shot Defiantly worth the 2 The bonus is that my wife and I both got to use it on our phones with only one purchase price If we rented the audio tour we would have had to pay 5 per person              Very helpful

I tried to buy this app at the Louvre After trying for 30 mins to get wifi strong enough to download the app I found that it needed to download content which CANNOT BE DOWNLOADED over the Wifi despite all of the signage advertising the app at the museum What a ripoff     DO NOT BUY

It was nice to have a concise well planned visit with 2 children It would have been nicer if it included all the listed audio commentaries availables in the museum Too few              Good

The content of this app is interesting and it does help supplement the lack of English in the museum Unfortunately you only get a limited selection of commentary for some top pieces And there is not a good system for finding that content you have to zoom in on the map to find the room youre in and see if theres content or not Its unfortunate that this does not provide the full audio tour although obviously they want you to get the full audio tour Would be better if there was an easier system for finding the content and more of it Ultimately the content is interesting but you can find much more from some third party apps        Not a must buy but is interesting

After deleting it I installed the latest app and pressed restore previous purchases button in it but it did not work I finally resovled this by resetting my iphone to the default factory settings and it restored the InApp Purchases But you need to reinstall everything BTW the Louvre audio guide is as beautiful as the artworks and hope more and more artworks availalable in the app The App supportor also gave some suggestions which you may try first 1To fix the issue it appears that you need to do a hard power cycle of your iPhone Make sure its charged and that youve saved any data that youre currently working with From the home screen hold the home and power buttons down together for about three seconds until the Apple logo is shown After a moment the phone will be shut down and then itll start again if it stays off just hold the power button for a second or so until the logo is on screen again Then make sure that you are logged in with your Apple ID and launch the Audioguide app again and at this point you should be able to restore the purchase 2If that still doesnt work and you still get no error message if you click on the individual items for the Egypt or Islamic tours you can click on the button to buy them and when the message reaches the App Store it will realize that you have already purchased the item on that account and ask if you want to download it again Obviously this will only work if you are signed into the account that already purchased the tours otherwise it will be treated as a regular purchase 3The first would be to log in to iTunes on your computer using the same Apple ID and switch the country to something else then back to your regular country To try that when you have iTunes open on a computer scroll down to the bottom right and click the flag icon Youll be brought to a list of other countries Click on anything other than your actual country Then once the new country store has loaded repeat the process but go back to your actual country Once youre finished go back to your phone and try once more 4Another potential solution is even more obscure but there are a few reports that restoring purchases doesnt work with some wifi routers when you have iOS6                 fixedCannot restore previous inapp purchases

I bought this app because it was advertised at the Louvre should have looked at the reviews first The app is very limited and hard to use Im pretty tech savy but it just doesnt work like youd think Manage to find yourself on the map Youd expect to be able to touch to get info and audio but cant The Tour is extremely limited and doesnt even scratch the surface     Not Worth it

This was a total waste I expected it to be like the audio guide that you rent at the museum Unfortunately this is only good for information on a very small number of items I would avoid buying this app and just rent the audio guide at the museum They are the same price anyway I bought it hoping I would get to study the works in advance I was truly disappointed     Avoid this app

I had been a little hesitant to get this based off of a couple of bad reviews but I am really glad I did I also downloaded the masterpieces tour That was a nice start to the day That helped me find and see some of the major pieces before the crowds got too bad For the rest of my day I used the map feature There were two nice things about that First the Must See items are on the map and all you have to do is tap on their icon to bring up the audio for that work The other nice was the navigation feature Each room has a three digit numbercode posted and so at the bottom of the screen you tap the navigation arrow and type in that number and it shows you where you are at on the map Very helpful when you are trying to find a specific work If you are planning to go to the Louvre this is a must buy app Ill probably even use it now that I am back home to learn more about the different works                 Very helpful and easy to usemust buy

It says its the official louvre audio tour but it is NOT the same as the 5 they offer at the museum This offered one short masterpieces tour which highlights 45 pieces Thats it Also if you want to take a photo on your phone the app doesnt remember your spot so you have to flip through to resume where you left off It absolutely blows Barely any information on other pieces DO NOT BUY Spend the extra 2 on the official audio guide maybe     This app stinks

Totally useless appcouldnt even get it to load Save yourself the trouble and just rent a regular old audio tour when you purchase your tickets If I had a time machine I would go back in time and not purchase this app while waiting in line at the Louvre Its hard to imagine how different the world could have been     Dont do it event though youre trying to pass the time while waiting on line

The only way I could get the review I want is to give five stars which tells me the reviews are rigged This app is only one star and that is generous Do not buy this app it lacks content                 Not enough content

I almost passed on this app due to some bad reviews but Im glad that I bought it They must have updated the app because the English option is very easy to select What I liked is that the app allowed my wife I to save time from waiting to buy a tour We walked in and were ready to roll Time was important for us because we only had three days in Paris and we were trying to see a lot It also helped that we went during evening hours on a Friday night had bought tickets in advance The app is also a pretty economical choice compared to a guided tour or even the museums audio guide This was money well spent in my view                 This app was great

Very disappointing app for very little content The description and the official louvre website make it sound as this app is the same as the one you buy at the museum They are NOT the same thing The one at the museum has many more pieces on the tour as this one I feel ripped off     Very little content

This is a really helpful way to learn a bit about various works without having to go on a full tour There is a quick tour that is very helpful in getting you around the enormous museum as well as a list of must see works that you can click on to hear commentary about For 2 euro a great value              Informative For Must Sees
