I moved to the digital Autoweek when it first became available Despite some early issues which were fixed quickly by tech support I have been very happy with the app overall It is great to get the new edition and be able to skim through and then quickly go back to an article that I want to read I can also go back to previous issues and re read articles that I want to check out again Like the coverage of all the racing that occurred in the past few weeks I do sometimes wish the reviewers of the new cars would be more critical when they find faults To me telling a manufacturer what is wrong helps them to address problems up front and not years later when the replace the older models                 Long term reader DrBobB47
I ve been an Autoweek subscriber for over 25 years When it entered the digital age with its app I gladly made the move Sadly Pixel Apps was a poor execution that crashed often Now that Autoweek has moved over to Zino for its back end the app is much better Yet like the older app restoring your iTunes purchase doesn t work well It constantly forgets your login and rarely restores your purchase on the first second third or many times It s a long painful process to get your years of archives back in your library What I thought was an easy choice to use my iTunes account instead of creating an account and entering my credit card has become a reoccurring nightmare Sad sad sad         Great Magazine Good App Horrible Account Management 7mary4

I have finally canceled the auto renew on this magazine The magazine is good the headache trying to access it each month is not worth the effort however As an annual subscriber I frequently see only the option to purchase instead of the download option Restore Purchases never works requiring me to contact the apps developers for assistance     Frequent problems with paid subscription

I can deal with the app version being nothing but electronic copy of print version but what drives me nuts about this app is that EVERY TIME I get an email to inform me that a new edition is available for download the app still shows 099 for me to download Ive tried logging outin to my subscription closing the app and restarting etc but nothing works And this isnt a new problem It happens EVERY TIME a new edition is available and with EVERY VERSION This issue has been reported to Autoweek repeatedly and by many people but no fix has occurred Im sorry but removing and reinstalling the app is not an acceptable answer I shouldnt even have to log out of subscription and log back in Very poor magazine update implementation here        Wants to charge for new Editions even when account is active
In the app word no update since Oct 2013 is a lifetime When you compare Autoweek app to say Automobile app you can see a huge difference in the user experience and its not just a static duplication of the magazine Content wise I love Autoweek but the app experience is outdated in the current format Please update please        Interactive Content a Must
People are quick to downgrade online magazine apps just because there is a subscription price Autoweek is excellent not only do they have great articles their subscription is only 5 a year and they have new issues almost every week Its also a full fledged magazine just like the others                 Not Everything is Free

Ive been using the app for about 8 months now I wanted to use it long enough to see if AutoWeek would fix the problems They have not Despite being a current subscriber to both the print and electronic versions I am asked to pay for issues Occasionally after a reinstall of the software I am able to download issues with my electronic subscription This only lasts 1 to 2 months at best It wouldnt be so bad if all I had to do was install the software but I have to download all the issues again Another issue I have is with the interactive content pages that automatically load Id like the choice to decide if I want to use my bandwidth to download the latest interactive advertisement Placing the iPad in airplane mode prevents the download but the app is too dumb to realize it and keeps trying This results in being stuck on that page until it respond the the page turn     Likes to double charge connection hog

The content is great but the app experience is incredibly frustrating Restore purchases the standard mechanism for downloading previously purchased content I have a subscription through iTunes doesnt work Actually I assume it doesnt work because the app fails to provide any feedback after I enter my password I dug around some more and found another restore purchases button hidden in the settings menu That didnt work either again no feedback whatsoever Finally I tried the log in button on that same screen Aha so I have to sign up through the publisher Fine lets try this Nope This time it assigned me a customer ID and showed my account credentials but again no sign of missing issues Thinking maybe that kickstarted something I tried restore purchases one more time No luck I gave up after that Delete     Forget this app Just get the paper magazine
Every time there is an iOS update I lose my subscription It has happened to me twice now The first time I was able to reactivate my existing subscription and carry on Since iOS7 nothing Im a fan of Autoweek but will have to stick to their daily emails to get my info I enjoyed the iPad version for airplane reading        Loses Subscription with iOS Updates
This Replica app suffers by comparison with otherTablet apps that are designed for use with iPads All it does is provide tiny printed pages that can be read only a small section at a time by using your fingers to expand individual areas of pages Not even in the same universe as a magazine app like New Yorker More galling is an indication on its library page that better Tablet apps do exist from its Pixelmags distributer But their Autoweek version is just bare minimum This is clearly a case getting rare these days where a company is trying to get by with flogging a substandard eversion which is inferior to the printed magazine My support emails about this have been answered by a clueless person who more or less says thats the way it is Take it or leave it I wont be renewing my subscription        Mediocre

This app is a complete disaster First the software I get an email on my regular Mac that says the latest issue of Autoweek is available meanwhile the icon on the iPad shows a new issue The app does not recognize it and I cannot download Then the support The support website either has lame answers or no answers Most of them were entered by Christine in September 2011 Regarding my problem it says to delete the app and reinstall it It reminds me of a Microsoft tradition but I did that and still nothing works Finally the magazine itself As pointed out by other reviewers it is a direct replica of the paper version which means the fonts are too small to read and I am constantly zooming across different section of a page There is no way to pause between pages so when a photograph crosses two pages there is no way to see it in its entirety Finally the interactive ads waste bandwidth and storage but there is no way to turn them off Come on Autoweek You have a great paper mag why such electronic garbage It is 2012     Garbage

dont like the electronic version want to cancel subscription after using auto renew has some how hijacked the way manage subscriptions works and cant cancel auto renew Called iTunes and they couldnt either until after it renews     Beware no cancel auto renew
The app has many issues no pun intended including being very fickle about viewing the magazine issues Some times it will allow me to View other times I can not view issues and the purchase icon shows up The biggest complaint I have is that it does not download a purchased issue to your device so you have to be online to view and read I travel a good bit and do not always have internet especially during takeoffs and landings Please address and fix the app     Magazine Great App Terrible

The Pixelmags app used by several publications including Autoweek is not terrible but its close Theres nothing above and beyond what you get in the print edition such as interactive content videos etc Something I find particular annoying is that if Ive been out of the app for more than a couple of hours even if I havent actually closed out the app on my ipad it forces me to log back into my account when I switch back to the still open app to start reading again This is extremely frustrating and should absolutely not be necessary And worst of all you MUST be logged in to view content so if Im in a location that does not have Internet I dont have access to my issues This is ridiculous Ive already downloaded the issues The whole point of digital magazines is being able to take them with you wherever you go all on one device Eliminating this feature makes the app almost completely useless to me Ive contacted the developer directly about this massive shortcoming of the app and they didnt have the decency to reply My recommendation If youre able to get your magazines in Zinio DO IT Once youve downloaded an issue in Zinio its yours to read whenever you choose Internet connection or not Imagine that If I could give the app zero stars     Needs major overhaul

The content of the magazine is still good and it is nice to have access to it over a week before the print version arrives That said this would only be a benefit if the digital version worked consistentlyinstead there are routine bugs that prevent you from downloading the latest issue for days after it is available and even then the app typically closes down a half dozen times per issue so it is frustrating to say the least to trying to read an issue Not sure what aw strategy is either why charge print subscribers for digital access If this remains the case then I will simply either subscriber to the app for 5 bucks if they ever get the bugs fixed or just stop both subscriptions Never have an issue with zinio so not sure why aw went in a different direction with pixel mags Or even better they could create a real app like entertainment weekly or sports illustrated or wired        Too many bugs
I wish apple would create a magazine engine that everyone could just paste their content to The content is good with nice pics I hadnt logged into my app for a while and had piled up a nice back catalog of issue to catch up on Prior to the Newsstand addition I could access by subscription by merely reauthorizing the device using my itunes acct that purchased the subscription but now after talking to their excellent customer support I must also log in using a PixelMag acctwhy Perhaps this is why some of peeps are having login issues              Nice magazine some user interface issues
I love the app I have been an Autoweek subscriber for over a decade I love the mag So the app is a great way to get my copy Additionally I have never had a problem with the subscription being lost after an iOS update Not sure what people are complaining about                 I love it
