Ayn Rand`s Atlas Shrugged [A New American Library Amplified Edition]

The production of the book is excellent And the ancillary materials are also very well done Its a beautiful production all in all However there is no ability to highlight permanently mark or make notes While the Kindle book is not as glamorous as this at least it can be interactive and the reader can mark passages and make notes I hope that Penguin will update this with highlighting and note taking capabilities              Beautiful production typography readability But no ability to highlight or note Ridiculous

The book alone would have been worth the price of admission but all the extras really put it over the top The whole thing is beautifully executed and has been troublefree operationally Id love to see the same treatment for Miss Rands nonfiction essays                 Worth it

This app includes a great deal of background audio and video to present not just Atlas Shrugged but also the author and her supporting philosophy of Objectivism The political left should be very concerned about such a cohesive presentation of Rands work Well done When can we expect The Fountainhead or Anthem to be presented so well                 A wonderful collection of content

Unlike the Kindle version of the book this app also includes audio and video of Ayn Rand explaining her philosophy This is an exceptional value                 Excellent Introductory Package

This book that holds the most radical and modern ideas genuinely belongs on the iPad The Bible belongs on papyrus in contrast Lots of content in a well designed app definitely justifies purchasing this even if you already have Atlas on Kindle or elsewhere                 Atlas Shrugged belongs on the iPad

Its put together very well and gives a great multimedia experience I especially liked the rare video clips of Ayn Rand I hope there will be more applications celebrating the work and life of this great icon profound thinker and greatest advocate of every mans right to his own life and happiness                 Well done

I love this app I am going through the audiobook and uses this app to follow along when I can I like the ability to post passages to Facebook or Twitter but it is only the one that they choose I would like to choose the passages Also would like to see the ability to highlight passages like in iBooks or Kindle Background stuff is fantastic A couple more tweaks and this is a 5star app in my book              Needs a couple of more features

I agree with the other positive reviews of this app and believe the inclusion of additional material significantly improves the value of this app vis the Kindle version in my view that version is sadly over priced vis hard copy versions However in my view there needs to be some significant upgrades to garner a 5 star rating Crucial ability to write descriptive notes to book marks at present one is presented with a list of page numbers almost useless in my view ability to high light text and add marginal notes some form of tracking to get back to last page read ability to select text and copy to notepad or the like Nice to have visual rendering of the pages allowing one to thumb to a section of the book quickly bookmarks should be visiblehidden with an easy user setting method of page numbering that syncs with hard copy versions optional paragraph numbering              Good material but needs upgrades

The ability to quote from the book and send it to others will help spread the ideas in the book Thats exciting                 Atlas Shrugged

It looses its place when the iPad changes orientation The page numbering also changes with orientation It resets back to page 2 when the iPad is turned off Navigation is painful A simple website with a table of contents and 1 scrolling page per chapter would be more convienent than this app     Poor app for a good book

It is incredibly frustrating that the user cannot return to the last page read every time I have spent far too much time trying to find the place where I last stopped reading Also why would basic functionality such as highlighting key text user notes and a dictionary reference be omitted        Great Literature Okay App

This is a great way to experience Atlas Shrugged and delve deeper into its underlying philosophy all in one place The ebook itself has an attractive font three useful font sizes snappy page turns an easy bookmarking feature and discreet grey boxes that appear in the left margin which link to interesting quotes which can be forwarded to your friends with a single tap The app includes three audio lectures by Ayn Rand that average about 30 minutes each and seven audio clips and seven video clips that are about one minute each For me the lectures which I had bought on audio cassette were an excellent transition from reading her fiction to studying her plilosophy                 Great Package

This is a fine App however it is a bit buggy on my newly upgraded iPad I find that when I turn off the iPad it sometimes looses font memory and bookmark locations If I put the iPad down and if it changes orientation the text is advanced a page when reoriented to portrait Also there is no battery life indication and you cannot tap a word to go to the dictionary Minor issues considering the vast quality of the experience but these issues should be addressed           Atlas Shrugged

I wish Id read the review by D1stewart before I purchased this app Without the ability to make notes and highlight text its a pretty toy but not very useful for anyone who wants to really sink his or her teeth into the ideas in the book I find it beyond belief that I cannot make notes on a book I supposedly own Also the app support link on the iTunes app page just leads to marketing fluff from Penguin Also the sidebar notes I am encouraged to share on Twitter or Facebook are preselected so I dont even have to think about what I think might be important How convenient Ayn Rands words and ideas are outstanding but this app does not enhance anything but passive consumption        A beautiful disappointment

The app would have been much better if we could underline andor highlight sentences and passages as we can do on ereaders           Its ok
