3D Ambient Sound

For anyone who doesnt know binaural recording has nothing to do with binaural beats except that both require headphones to experience properly Binaural beats are a rhythmic sound that supposedly can directly influence brain wave function while binaural recordings are a method of recording designed to create lifelike ambience on headphones The method of recording on a dummy head is used by professional field recorders to obtain high quality stereo that corresponds to the way sound waves interact with a human head for a headphone effect that is as close as possible to being there I love these sorts of field recordings and have a cheap rig of my own that I wear on my head to record There are some good recordings in this program The new frogs and the water dribble sound especially demonstrate the effect well Some features that certain other ambient sound programs have that this one is missing include the ability to play in the background on iOS 4 I hope the developer will take advantage of this new capability of the iPodiPhone soon and the ability to mix multiple of the binaural tracks there are some sound effects you can layer over the tracks though I dont personally like the sounds chosen for that purpose but YMMV              A nice set of ambient binaural recordings
