Won t work on my iPhone SE it will show it s working but don t record shots but my girlfriend iPhone 6s it works just fine kinda confused because Apple says the SE has the same A9 chip as the 6s and the headphone jack didn t change and I ve tried everything so I m just bum fuzzled     Earache remain

I got the chrono for its innovative upside down design that avoids glare from sun The Bluetooth function is a huge help and it was another key reason for buying the unit One BIG improvement the app needs is to export a CSV file s of the shot strings This would make importing data into spreadsheets really easy If the CSV export were added my rating would move from 3 to 5 Are you watching this Caldwell             Good functionality needs a key improvement FletchersKid

Anyone got this to work on the newer iPhones that don t have a headphone jack Looks like a couple people have tried using a 3 5mm to Lightning adapter in the past and it didn t work I was wondering if it worked now with the newer iOS             iPhone 7 8 X Bear_Hunter

Not the best app out there Would be a great app when they update to use on iPhone 7 When connecting to iPhone 7 the app does not recognize the chrono Works great on my old iPad but not on my new iPhone Very disappointed             Ok app cw squared

I like the Chronograph and the app but it would be a lot nicer if the app would sync to other devices Personally I like being able to record the data on my iphone but since the phone screen is so small it would be really nice to sync that data with my ipad and be able to view and edit the data on my ipad Also the bullet data is pretty far out of date There is no bullet data for Hornady ELD X bullets as yet and these have been out for a quite a while now                 Needs to be able to sync with apps on other devices Johnnynavvvvv

Overall I am happy with this app but I do have three recommendations for improvements see below I have been using this app with the caldwell chronograph and an iphone 6 w IOS 8 9 and now 10 connected together with the headphone cord I like how the app stores the strings allows you to edit them add comments to them and even email them for later editing in excel My three recommendations for improvement are 1 Allow the user to manually override the temperature and baro press and also add an option to use the barometric pressure measured from the iPhone s built in barometer Last night at the range there was a 5degree difference between what temp that the app was pulling from the weather service and what my thermometer was measuring In the past I have also seen differences beween my barometer reading and the pressure that the app is pulling from the weather service When these differences occur there is no way to override it so you just have to make a note in your log book email youself the string then manually edit it in excel 2 Add a configuration setting where the user can choose to allow the phone to enter sleep mode or not I have found that if you plug in the headphone cord first then launch the app the phone will stay on during the whole shot string and not go into sleep mode launch the app befor plugging in the phone cord the phone will go into sleep mode after a short period of not touching the screen or buttons and it will miss shots Even if you plug the cord in first and launch the app to keep it from going into sleep mode but then later unplug the cord for example to walk downrange and take a pick of your group size and plug the cord back in without closing and restarting the app the phone will start go into sleep mode after a short period of inactivity too 3 Add the ability to manually add a shot to a stored string The app lets you edit or delete a stored shot from a string but it will not allow you to add a new one This ability would be handy when a shot is missed because the phone went into sleep mode This has happened to me a few times When the phone sleeps the chrono will read the shot and display the velocity on its screen but the app will not store it because the phone was sleeping In these cases I had to record the shot s in my log book then manually calculate the correct the average SD and spread because I was not able to add it to the string                 Good App 3 recommendations for improvement timu2

This is the second time I have tried to use this program on my iOS device In both instances I have been unable to 1 Enter the Load Set data or save the data Secondly the program does not allow the user to enter data in the offline mode Battenkill needs to go back to the drawing board and develop a quality app     Poor excuse for a Ballistic Program Bushmaster

I used the G2 for the first time today with my iphone It worked great There were a couple errors but none after I turned the LED lights on Im wondering if the data can be set up to be cloud based so I can synch the same information to show up on my iPad I havent figured that out yet Also the zip code defaults to cupertino CA so be sure to set you app up to detect your GPS location I think I ended up with CA weather and barometric conditions when I was actually shooting in VA                 G2 Bluetooth Works Great ChuckD2Va

When will the new bullets be added to the list The hornady eld x are not listed in the app The Berger manufacturer doesn t have 338 for a caliber when they ve made them for a while now Would be much nicer than typing them in every different load     New hornady eld x Me570

I bought this to measure my reloads and this chronograph works great Tripod is sturdy whole unit and app works great The only downside I would have to say is the app in which we can add brands of cartridges and bullet size It does not want to add three digits for bullet size It will use the first two digits only For example if I would insert 0 224 it will show 0 22 and for 9mm I would but 0 355 it would put 0 36 Also the app will not add to and existing brand If I wanted to add Federal brand of cartridge it will create a new field Also could add plated bullets brands or just played bullets to the app                     Chrono works as expected Jalisco83

I didn t have a problem with connection to my ipad I had a problem connecting it to my iphone but it was my fault When you open the app for the first time it will ask permission to access the mic I clicked no and it wouldn t connect until i gave the app permission The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the app will not rotate when you rotate the ipad Very frustrating when i have it in the keyboard dock If they fix it it would be 5 stars all the way                 Works great no problems Hfdpyro

This works fine on iPhone6s with the cord plugged in You must turn off Bluetooth in the app Not just your device settings before it will recognize a cord connected device which is a bug the developers should fix Recorded data well with the cord being removed and reinserted several times as we switched stations during the day Highly recommended it is simple and works well to relieve the mundane effort from data recording Took shot data at faster than one per second Bright sunny day at over 95deg F May not be the most accurate device but seems good enough for my needs                 Works fine on iPhone6s corded lordmorgul

Overall this app does exactly what it claims to do It records each shot velocity and keeps a running history of all shoe strings Adding target pictures with each string is a nice touch The weather updates currently do not work It appears there was a change in this version to use weather underground but temp and humidity show as n a after a few second delay while the app tries to get current conditions I shot 15 strings of 5 shots on Friday Had 2 errors in reading and had to restart the chrono twice I think those were chrono weather problems the app kept working Suggestions for the developers when I start a new group and the chrono is connected start recording Don t make me tap start fix weather lookup I m guessing you know about that add humidity and altitude lookup along with temp and pressure We have to write these down so if you are collecting 2 of the 4 necessary environmentals you may as well get all 4 automatically or use absolute station pressure temp humidity you have two fields for notes on each shot string These are probably going to be for the firearm and the ammo How about making a list where I can enter the firearms and loads and choose or not I think this is what you are trying to do with templates but the UI of templates doesn t really match how most apps work so it s not as intuitive to use as a customized list for each notes field show the notes fields all the time Don t hide them and make me tap the arrow to show the info Thanks                 Big help but needs minor fixes mj-b

I don t know what you other guys are using but it worked perfectly for me on a iPhone 5c iOS 7 and on a iPhone 5s iOS 9 The only problem I have had is the factory cable attached to a Lifeproof adapter fixed that with a 3rd party male to male threaded for Lifeproof case data cable                     Works for me PhlyingFish

I opened the box and check that all the parts were there they were I read the instructions until I understood each step then I took it out and gave it a try I connected the 15 cord and opened the app on my iPhone 6s turned on the chronograph all in the correct sequence listed in the instructions Everything worked flawlessly the try the only option I didn t try was the Bluetooth option At this time it was not necessary since I had the 25 cord supplied with the unit I m 100 satisfied with my purchase I may invest in the lighting kit if it becomes necessary Great product I would recommend it to a friend for sure RedDog                     Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph 1RedDog1

Have had it out twice now and would never register anything when using the supplied phone cord Bluetooth never would connect Had to delete and reinstall the app because after I tried Bluetooth it kept trying to connect with Bluetooth and wouldn t recognize the cord was plugged in Will try it a third time whenever I get back out but not holding my breath Pretty worthless so far     Doesn t work IPhone 6 1649461

No issues to date Hasn t crashed on me yet like others state Ability to take photos and measure group size is a little confusing at first but once figured out is a great tool The chrono itself is great but sometimes picks up errors in between shots which is annoying but so far haven t experienced any negative impacts from the app yet                     Excellent FIREWURX

This app provides basic functionality for the Caldwell Chronograph As mentioned by others it is occasionally unstable I experience this as a complete app crash when creating a new group It will continue to crash everytime a new group is opened So far rebooting my iPad has fixed this problem although sometimes it just quits crashing after a few reps This may be iOS version related I ve used it successfully with an iPad Air and iPad Air 2 with iOS versions 8 and 9 Overall this app provides a better way of collecting data than any other chronograph I ve seen I use it with an external keyboard stand on the range bench The ability to set groups up before going to the range is useful as is the ability to email the data but the facility for both of these is primitive at best There seems to be a capability to get the environment conditions temp humidity via the Internet but this works erratically even with a good network connection I get false readings from the strobe that flashes on the range curing cease fire and from my 357 Magnum if the chronograph is closer than about 10 feet but this is a chronograph issue not an app issue What I want from the app 1 Ability to edit the bullet list It is so large and unwieldy as to be almost useless I appreciate the effort by Caldwell to provide the bullet data but PLEASE let me remove the 99 of the bullets I don t use and won t ever use The ability to add bullets to the list is appreciated and useful 2 The ability to export the data in CSV format This is crucial I spend a lot of time converting from text and reformatting the data in a spreadsheet The data is sent via email in a text format Very clunky 3 I appreciate keeping the UI and database simple but having data fields for powder type and weight in addition to bullet type would be very helpful when developing loads This would be especially useful if a database of powder was available like the bullet DB There are other improvements to the UI that could be made to improve efficiency of use but these are a nice to have             Functional Mostly jcfergus

I have an iPhone 6 and the app won t even download to it It did download to my iPad mini I would much rather have my phone then to carry around the iPad at the range Little disappointed         App won t download Black label 82

The app used to work ok but had it quirks even then Now it crashes all the time and I ve had several load testing sessions now that are lost because the app failed to record the data It s a shame the software doesn t work because that s one of the main reason I purchased this chronograph over others I m using a iPhone 6     App crashes S Strickland
