Perfect from the sound quality to the captivating Bernstein footage to the comments and commentary This is fun optimism breathtaking beauty sheer excitement and heartfelt emotion all wrapped up in the perfect app experience This one is worth every penny Please give us symphonies 1 through 8 next Id but them all in an instant                 Absolutely mesmerizing

Of course the apps content and the masterpiece within it is absolutely beautiful On the app itself its amazing This type of source is what separates apps from books lectures or CDs It reminds me of how well the National Geographic app works interactively compared to just reading the magazine You you sample it youll know what Im talking about The next step up would be like a virtual reality experience or something Wish there were a lot more of these supporting other works but then Id be dead broke since it is a tad pricey Great job otherwise I recommend this for all classical music enthusiasts                 Superb app for a brilliant masterpiece

What a great interface It really is and a great concept But what a great way to entice you to spend more and more money I suppose you can say that this download is a preview of what you would spend 14 bucks on but thats not the way its marketed The programmers should be proud of this app The marketing people ruined it and I bet theres no remorse        Should ave been labeled MORE MONEY

I agree that this app the full 1399 version is a beautiful example of all thats great about the iPad My only beef is no Airplay support              Fantastic but no Airplay

This app is totally amazing showing the full multimedia potential for iPad apps And when you consider that you get the equivalent of nearly 4 CDs of music its a bargain This will provide many many hours of enjoyment and worthwhile study listening reading the explanations watching the visualizations of the orchestra players currently playing seeing the sheet music in real time etc                 Totally amazing

It took me a while to figure out that the reason I couldnt install this was that my firstgeneration iPad cannot run iOS 60 which the app requires There were no error messages instead the app installed partially and then got stuck with the installation progress bar at the 23rdsdone point           Doesnt run on firstgeneration iPad

Just say its a sample and actually costs 13        SAMPLE

This has to be what Jobs envisaged When do we get more I upgraded through this app via IAP Is there any difference between this and its fullpriced cousin                 The iPad at its best

This is an amazing app For a 14 in app purchase you get 4 complete recordings of the symphony as well as a video of one conducted by Leonard Bernstein That alone generally speaking isnt a bad bargain if you look at comparable prices for the 9th on iTunes But of course this app doesnt stop there You see not only the entire score shown exactly in time with the music but also several fascinating visualizations and commentary that help your understanding of the piece And to top it all off video and written commentary about the piece is included just for good measure Pay no attention to the ignorant or disrespectful naysayers here download the app and try it yourself This is hours of content combined beautifully and packaged together in a comprehensive and interactive bundle that will leave you enriched and encouraged                 A work of art worthy of the 9th Symphony

A surprisingly large amount of text video and music bound together in a novel and enjoyable interface If you are fond of this piece this application will take your knowledge and enjoyment to the next level                 Exceptional

This is probably one of my favorite apps to use All of the recordings are excellent To watch Leonard Bernstein conduct it is pure joy I hop the make more of these Would love to see my some Schubert Lieder maybe                 Wunderbar

I love this Was originally going to wait for a sale but got it for myself on my birthday I LOVE IT But definitely lacking airplay so I can play it on my airplay speakers I dont care if theres a delay I just want to pump it through my sound system To developers Thanks Keep making great apps but please give us sales 1399 is a lot              Great Needs airplay

1399 was a lot for me but well worth every cent As a latecomer to classical music I can say this app makes a strong case for Beethoven Its beautifully organized and appeals to both those with extensive classical background and those with virtually no classical background The illustrations and live program notes are well done Touch Press has made so many impressive apps I look forward to their future projects especially in music and arts                 Simply Beautiful

Gives you 2 min of a symphony and then hollers at you to buy the full version for 1399 Just sell the full version right off instead of wasting my time with 2 min of symphony which takes up more than a gig of data     This by itself is a hollow app

I purchased The Orchestra app when it first appeared This outstanding app requires 192Gb download which takes a long time The note on the Beethoven app reveals that it has only a 2 minute sample from each featured conductor This is so all the features could be enabled for instant purchase They neglected to say this requires a download of 155Gb for your two minute samples Since it is built on the same platform as The Orchestra I would hope they could build on that instead of requiring full download for the 2 minute samples Other than that this is an outstanding contribution to the enjoyment of classical music Had I known it required that large a download I would not have ordered the sample           More informative note needed

Quite possibly one of my favorite musical apps of all time Just beautiful A few other reviews mentioned the high cost of enabling the content whatever 14 but to buy these recordings individually not to mention copies of the score interviews and videos would easily push over 100 Loving it so far                 Fantastic musical experience

I wish there were a way to place bookmarks in the score so you can quickly find the parts you want to study Also it would be nice to have links to the different recordings in iTunes But I really love this app Please make more like it              Almost Perfect

I bought the paid version and its truly BRILLIANT You can imagine how much effort the developers put in this app Definitely worth the price for anyone interested in the 9th symphony A great experience of learning listening and understanding Almost phrase by phrase analysis Looking forward to more apps like this I made inapp purchase so App Store doesnt allow me to write reviews for the paid version                 Brilliant

If you arent a real classical music lover you wont appreciate this app If youre a professional classical artist you wont need it For anyone who fits neither description its perfect And well worth 14 bucks the real cost of the app                 Absolutely superb but not for everyone

Simply wonderful Those who think it is jerky need to well Its not jerky its clean and fluid and smooth and a total delight Pay the 14 bucks Its 2 hours of gorgeous music for each conductor 8 hours of heaven And the video from 1970s is awesome                 Wonderful

If you check In App Purchases youd know its not the full experience as they call it Its an excellent idea but the music playback stutters at times even on my iPad 4th generation My big concern based on when this app was released is that the developer isnt or doesnt know how to fix it I can only give two star since the stuttering ruins the atmosphere created when listening to one of of the greatest pieces of music ever written        Excellent concept

This app features four complete performances of the 9th audio only The inclusion of Berstein the Clown is a disappointment but the other 3 performances are classics There are four interesting short essays on the piece and its innards and a few short video interviews of musicians and critics The performances are curated with different views of the score including the manuscript all synchronized              Expensive but well produced for the 9th fan

It is a waste of time as you wont get to listen anything than a two minute symphony Then itll ask you to pay for full subscription Wonder why it is getting 5 stars It dont even deserve one     It is just an advertisement

Really not even worth the time of downloading this I love me some 9th Symphony but this app does nutin honey Ill just listen to my 3 versions from my downloaded CDs I bought this and saw all the high reviews thinking the history and background would be interesting Youre not even able to read that without paying 1399     Really

This is a great app for anybody interested in better understanding this piece of music Being able to listen to the performances while seeing the corresponding information being dynamically displayed on the screen is a very enjoyable experience Yes the app is a little more expensive than the average app on the App Store but in my opinion the app is well worth its price                 Very enjoyable experience

As an ex Music major I found this a rare treat Love the ability to compare performances listening through my sound system I already have several recordings of this work but being able to compare the interpretations phrase by phrase is simply amazing While 14 bucks isnt cheap by iOS Apps compared to what I paid per college lecture its a drop in the bucket Just which theyd do the same for Bach with an emphasis on harmony                 Well Done

I just got this app and am dazzled by it I do not experience any jerkiness it runs very smoothly for me What a delight Four orchestral versions and you can switch instantly from one to another without interrupting the music You can watch the live players or a diagram if the orchestra lighting up as each instrument plays Two levels of commentaryone streaming along the edge as the song progresses explaining things to listen for in simple yet precise and illuminating terms for the average listener and a second longer explanation of the piece is also available You can follow along with the score for any andor all instruments and you can follow the ORIGINAL handwriiten score as well There are a number of commentators and other resources with info on Beethovens life and career and how the 9th came into being Everything is gorgeous 13 Its a steal for what you get when you get the full version Hats off to this great app                 Amazing

This is a fabulous gift for the music lover It is no ordinary recording of the Beethovens Ninth it is an education worthy of a busy semester in a topflight music school If you are a pretty advance music listener and you would enjoy developing better understandings of one of the great masterpieces of music do yourself a favor and get this This would not have been easy to do without the iPad it gives you four of the great recordings at once and people like Sir Elliot Gardner helps you to understand the music better great Leonard Bernstein explains the philosophy behind Beethovens music and it you have Karajans recording too Oh the price Considering the amount of work went into making this music seminar it is worth 20 times more It will I crease the value of your iPad A music lover                 A Spectacular Achievement
