Bike On - Bicycle Routes, Maps with Voice Guided Navigation

I do like the voice direction and alternative routes However the data base for search is very limited notice that in other bike route apps too Try to find a bus stop or grocery store it directed me to one miles away To bypass the problem you pretty much have to find the exact address elsewhere online paste it and then route I wish there is a bike route app as awesome as Waze for cars           Wish search is better

You asked we answered We have implemented custom waypoints based on the feedback provided by a user There is a hole in the iOS GPS bicycle apps that allow you to create a custom map load it and have it give turn by turn directions for the custom map There are apps that track where you are going or will maintain a course for ride over ride comparison speed rate etc such as mapmyride etc There are apps that will plot A to B routing in your case offer some alternate routes and let you follow that route But there isnt an app that will let you plot out a turn by turn bicycle ride where you want to go Often you would plan a 50 mile ride that starts and ends at the same place Your app wouldnt know how to do that Other apps will let you plot and will track but wont give you turn by turn directions and that makes it difficult to plot a ride into an area you are not familiar with Even if the app would allow you to upload a tcx gpx krc file and follow it with turn by turn directions But the bomb would be to plot your course see it on screen as you ride have it give audio and visual turn by turn directions and then when you complete the ride spit back a bunch of data Hope this helps Happy to further clarify anything I stated above that doesnt make sense              Custom waypoints Coming soon GPX uploads

I do a lot of long rides and have been using the Tom Tom app to give me turn by turn audible biking directions in unknown locales That program has several imperfections and I was excited to see the new app Bike On which uses Google Maps biking option to provide turn by turn audible directions Unfortunately at least for the uses I need Bike On is not ready for prime time Part of the problem is with the underlying Google mapping engine which is essentially in Beta for bikes It does a good job find routes away from traffic but sometimes finds routes that are dead ends or literally dont exist The one place where it has an advantage over Tom Tom Tom Tom finds only roads well but ignores bike paths is also a disadvantage since it routes you onto bike paths barely passable by mountain goat with no option to tell it you only want road bike passable terrain This problem however is compounded by the Apps programming which instead of rerouting you or advising you to turn around when possible when you miss a turn or chose to overrule the program when its sent you to a billy goat path just stops functioning when you miss a turn So you can go miles in the wrong direction without being warned if you miss the turn and you need to restart the route any time either you find something wrong The Apps designers left a big flaw here which renders the program close to unusable Bottom line Tom Tom is still far superior although more expensive Google I presume will gradually improve its bike mapping which will help Bike On somewhat But until the Apps designers fix the programming flaws Bike On gets a thumbs down     Not Ready for prime time

Please please Check on addresses I have plugged in different exact address even from google maps on search on the app and nothing happen Please check on that Already paid for the app And is not any good if that is not fixed        Address or any close point of interest not working

Cant get it to route     Doesnt work

Cant import custom maps cant hide keyboard once you start typing doesnt show bike paths takes forever to map out a custom route and no tutorials Really there is nothing good about it at all It doesnt even deserve one star     Waste if money
