I had success with this app at first but now it disappoints me I create a new project punch in but it seems that if the phone goes to sleep the time doesn t register I come back to the app an hour or two later and nothing s been saved Time to look for a better app         I remember it being better ferretface99

I have been using Billing Hours for about 2 years At first all I wanted was something I could press a button to start a timer that I could later stop to time projects This app handles that beautifully Eventually I needed a work log So I started adding notes in the Note field Later I would send a report to myself and Billing hours would attach a PDF and a CSV file to use for Excel I would open the CSV file in Excel and surprisingly some very long notes would be intact and not be truncated So I am guessing you can put a lot of characters in the note field In my case I just needed to do a little formatting to get them to tidy up on my Excel sheet later when I had the time Since I just wanted the time spent and what was done this was the perfect work log I don t use the PDF function but I see others here mentioned they do I have tested creating an invoice and sending it The invoice is a one size fits all deal so some people may not like it However you can edit the information for your company and also add a logo if you like Pretty slick It s basic though I think it s great to have a method of sending invoices right from your phone My hope is that Birdsoft will add some way to adjust the column widths and also customize the form a little more as far as resizing columns or removing or truncating the information from the project or description For example I d like to remove the times from the invoice but keep the hours I would also like to move the Project column over closer to the date or remove it entirely and as of yet I haven t found a way to do that However I should add for someone who does different projects like for example an attorney or web developer They may find this helpful and needed Someone mentioned that you can t print with Billing Hours but you can You need a printer that supports AirPrint Most of the newer printers do Also if you need more than that you can always email a copy to yourself or someone else and have them print it There s a button to Send Report and you can limit the report to a single client if you need to However I think persons complaint is not a big deal My impression was that the developer made an app that allowed you to create an invoice at a clients location put in their email address and the send it to your client It has done this well since the start It s also very use able if you are on a budget and don t have a computer and only use it on your phone or iPad You can adjust pay cycles weekly monthly etc track open invoiced and paid invoices Timed items and Billable items It s got everything you need to run a business unless you need to create complicated invoices For the startup Freelancer you can have an accounting that gets the job done and looks very professional I have had to email the developer several times because I couldn t figure out how to do something He s very responsive and gets back to me pretty quickly He s been quick to respond since day one and I originally had the free app I can also say most people probably would have figured out some of the stuff I couldn t because I wasn t used to the swiping left to delete something Like for example I had some project names I wanted to delete To do that you have to go into a clients entry and click on project like you want to add a project Then in the project name list drag the project you want to remove to the left which reveals a red Delete button Easy Along with time entries you can also add itemized expenses for each client Which I suppose is for clients who re imburse you for things In the item window you can add a Name for the item the price whether or not it s a taxable item and the date I don t use this module but it s there if anyone needs it When you create a time entry you click a button which starts a timer Then when you are done with the task or project you can click the button again to stop the timer and Billing Hours calculates the time based on the hourly rate you set for the client Once you add items to an invoice they are marked as invoiced and once an invoice is paid you can mark it paid I do have one minor issue I like to clear out old invoices and to do that you have to delete the individual entries However for most people this probably wouldn t be an issue because they may want their full billing history I would say if the developer would add some editing features to the app I would likely just use it I have always used a spreadsheet because I take the spreadsheets and have a script that imports them into Filemaker Pro I would love to see an Export To Filemaker option but I am not complaining at all Due to the nature of the work I do and my type of clients I need a larger Description field where I can enter extensive work logs which contain many line items So this works for me as far as being able to write short notes to remind me until I sit down to do a full worklog I haven t tried it but I would guess if you are technically savvy you could probably find a way to import the CSV file into QuickBooks I think Billing Hours will get the job done for most people without a lot of unnecessary bloat I say give it a try                     One of the best Apps in it s class Will write songs for food

I ve been using this app for many months now and find it quite satisfactory However I ve been using it on the iPad had an older iPhone and find slight problems in field rendering Annoying Now that I have a newer iPhone I find that it would be great to be able to sync across iOS devices via iCloud and have a native iPad version Those two things would make this app stellar             Good Could be great kojobg

This is the best app I ve used to keep track of the time spent on each client It s very easy to use and the email response for support is within hours I wish it backed up to iCloud but even without that you can email yourself a report as often as you want a backup                     Great Line2user

There s no way to import fields from contacts After playing with the app a few minutes I realized that every single client I have goes into my contacts app first I don t see myself entering clients info into this app before anything else The app has a lot of potential and it would be my go to app for billing if i could import fields from my contacts app             I want to love it but Damian D.
