Once you get to know how to use this app needs 30 sec good quality recording this app is just great and tells you immediately what bird is singing                 This is exactly what I ve been waiting for

I had high hopes for this app Alas they remain unfounded 1 It is excessively difficult to obtain a good recording Even when the bird was perched just a few feet away singing loudly it registered as low sound quality or no bird detected 2 When I did get a decent recording the app consistently misidentified the bird I watched a wren singing but the app said 74 Brown Thrasher Blue Jay was idd as Cardinal or Brown Thrasher Crow was idd asBrown Thrasher 3 The tips tricks video is useless Hopefully the app will improve in time But right now its a waste of time and money     Disappointed

Even for nonbirders like me this app works more than adequate I just wanted to know what hops around in our backyard here in San Diego with this app I can now also identify the birds songs A very useful tool                 Easy to use and works well

Two problems Its tough to get an accurate report Its very easy to mess up while using it resulting in having to start all over again if you can If there was a free trial for this I would have saved my 5 First I thought it would be like Shazam for birds Its not even close You have to be very quiet holding the phone for recording for half a minute All the time you are holding it you are worried that the quality of the recording is good enough it cant be too quiet etc But it wont tell you anything until you make the full recording Once you waited 30 seconds and hit another button it will tell you if the recording quality is poor good very good only after analyzing it If its a good recording then it gives you about a dozen bird choices Yes a dozen Assuming you are like me and could only get a glimpse of the bird in the tree the pictures dont really help So then you have to play each bird recording to see what you think is closest Some bird calls are quite similar which makes sense to me as to why they give a dozen choices But its all up to me to figure it out Im not a bird expert thats why I bought the app So I am still guessing Also when using it It is incredibly easy to lose your recording before youre done I am bouncing between playing different bird calls and it is easy to hit a soft key that takes you back out of the analysis section If you leave that section you lose your recording Then you have to try make a new recording hoping all the time that the bird is still near you and singing and that you get a good quality recording and of course it takes a long time to make the new recording before you can analyze it        Not so much

I love this bird app I have it on my iPad and when I am watching birds in the back yard I have it handy to make identifications I use the bird callssongs quite often to help identify This is my second summer using this app                 Great App

Backyard bird call was confusing me This app didnt nail it but gave me a list based on my recording Carolina Wren was in the list which hadnt occurred to me Crossreferenced and bingo Worth 4 to me              Pritty Goood

Feel bad entering the only bad review by I have had no success with this app at all The recording device is VERY finicky songs I can hear fine with my memo app it wont recognize and the catalogue of American birds is simply too small Maybe in time it will improve but for now I wish I hadnt spent the money     Hasnt worked once

I am a Bird lover And this App makes me feel among them I really hope they continue updating it in the future and adding more and more species continuosly I just would like to may hear the birds songs and calls in background not only while Im navigating through others apps but also when the Screen is off I really like this app                 Excellent App
