I have been subscribing to Bon Appetite for 30 years or so and love the amazing recipes I like reading the recipes on the IPad but as far as I can tell there s no way to save the recipes you want to use You also can t print or bookmark This is literally worse than every other online recipe app I use NY Times Epicurious And the publishers clearly don t care I posted an earlier version of this review long ago and many others have complained to no avail So I m done with BA     No recipe box Len is procrastinating
Can t log in     Ordered yesterday want refund ~~{me}~~
With Epi s syncing deficiencies now becoming too much to accept exploring the promotional link to a laggardly publishing media method of transcribing paper to electronic is a waste to them and to me So why would you proactively divert existing customers from again a sync defective Epi iApp to a choice where you can t even save a great recipe for further use Been enjoying Epi for years and now have to start dealing with sync and mixed marketing focus elsewhere is easier to my daily relaxation time and planning Sad for such a business     Epicuriuos to this NG PR in Boston
After hearing back from BA and learning that theres an autoremove feature in the apps settings that caps the number of issues you can have downloaded at once all has been well with the app I love the recipes the photos the speed Would love capability to search within an issue or all ones purchased issues                 Great content nice display
Each month the new issue cover appears in my newsstand replacing the previous months issue however when I open the New issue the previous months issue appears If I go to the App Store and touch Open for the new issue the previous issue still continues to appear When I am mysteriously successful in bringing in the new issue Ive gone through so many gyrations I have no idea how I was finally successful Although Im not especially fond of reading the magazine electronically it is a lot easier to read since the print edition has become impossible to read with the ever shrinking font size and the annoying use of light blue print I have issues in my library that are over twenty years old but in the last few years I have found myself throwing a current issue away and realize that I havent even read through the whole issue and dont care When my subscription expires I wont renew it     New Cover Old Issue
I cant get my new issue and all my back issues are gone What is going on with this app     Cant open anything
Super annoying super aggressive intro ads     Avoid
Would be great IF it worked but ever since Ive tried to use it2 years it has been glitchy Ive deleted and reinstalled many times to no avail     Useless
Tap on a recipe It appears then disappears Very frustrating Content is great but App needs work     Recipe index doesnt work
It pops up and then just as quickly goes away PLEASE FIX ASAP Its not worth the subscription otherwise           Recipe Index doesnt work
I have had to reinstall several times I am a long time subscriber but frequently do not get a sign in option Cant figure out how to save recipes or find previously saved FAQs not helpful Very frustrated     Very buggy
Wow Instant popup menus Easy to digest in 12 second Why is Bon Appetit wasting my time Cant this be fixed     New definition for popup menus
When I moved abroad I was thrilled with the option of receiving my BA magazine subscription to my iPad Loved the layout the extra features and the feel of the interactive app Before I downloaded OSX 82 the app mysteriously deleted all of my old issues 8 and wouldnt update the library Finally uninstalled reinstalled and now it doesnt recognize my account or any past purchases When I try to set up the All Access option it says its already set up and to sign ineven though Im already signed in This is especially frustrating because my subscription just renewed and right now Ive paid for a year subscription to a magazine I cant access Very disappointed with what was a great app and hope that changes and updates will be made available soon     Great app gone bad
To many ads           Good content but
This is a great example of letting designers go amuck Due to its bloated content it routinely takes 3035 minutes to download The May 2014 issue for example has about 82 pages of which 46 or 56 of the content were ads The cooking content is lost in the ad clutter BA really needs to take a look at how National Geographic or Scientific American publish their emagazines        Too Many Ads Too Long to Download
When I first downloaded the app I was so excited I was already planning to see if I could cancel the print subscription Then I started trying to use it Every new page requires a download and it takes forever even on a good connection The wait time is far too long even for the most casual reader I will not use this again If the developers know what they are doing they should be serving up nothing more than HTML and appropriately downsized images If they are trying to deliver magazine pages they are nuts     Slow To The Point of Useless
The app is great when the recipes work Pages open up fast enough with a good connection idk why people would complain about that There are a million points for that to bottleneck BUT there is some bug where the recipes will open for about half a second and then close Ive tried restarting the app then restarting my iPad Air and reinstalling the app Still the same problem over and over Please fix Conde nasteBon appetit           RECIPE OPENING PROBLEMS
Ive tried repeatedly to login and reset my password multiple times Every time no matter how careful I type I get an authentication failure Contacted support and they basically told me how to sign in on the appI know that thats what Im doing     Login issues for print subscriber
I could have read the print version cover to cover then made a 5course dinner in the time it took to download I subscribe to several digital magazines and none are nearly as slow        Download too slow
When I tap on a recipe it ascends and then quickly descends The magazine itself would be lovely if this feature worked properly I would never purchase again its a frustrating glitch     No recipe access
I really like the magazine and the app but it is incredibly frustrating that it takes many attempts open a recipe sometimes I would rate this rat at 5 start if that functionality worked        Recipes wont open
This app continues to fail my login and there is zero support to correct it     Login Authentication Failure
The app is not reliable It crashes takes too long to come up and often crashes when Im using it This is not satisfactory for a national magazine     Needs work
This is the first magazine I tried on my iPad It is really nicely designed overall and pretty intuitive Beautiful photography As others have mentioned when I tap the red recipe button sometimes it displays and then quickly recedes again I found that after trying a few times or accessing through the index I could get it to display Very annoying so I hope that gets fixed Im not sure I would pay a full 20 annual subscription knowing that this bug is in there Its a food magazinerecipe functionality should be high priority to get right           Some recipes cant be viewed
Pros content sometimes well laid out some good ideas for organization Cons Each version Ive had has been buggy and unpredictable Its also not very intuitive which they seem to understand evidenced by the copious first time user type instructions that pop up periodically even after more than a year of use I want to use it because it could be a great appbut its a really unproductive way for me to access this content        Very buggy with potential
I love this app It makes complex recipes understandable and allows me to fool all my friends into believing that I know what I am doing in the kitchen                 My favorite app
Prior to November 2014 you could preview the recipe index in an issue This is the most important content to make a decision about buying the issue Currently They obscure the recipe index in the preview Guess I wont be buying any issues soon unless I take time to visit a newsstand and peruse a print issue really stupid move folks        No more recipe index in previews
Beautiful App Sidebar allows you to quickly navigate the magazine Looks amazing on my iPad air                 Flawless
Recipes articles are good but the app crashes frequently And like a prior reviewer stated the recipes often wont displayscreen comes up immediately disappears and then the app crashes Please fix        Crashes too often
Nicely designed app however the app doesnt work properly especially the recipe page which cannot be viewed Just happened to be the most important section of the entire app     Buggy
I have multiple eMagazine subscriptions and never experienced the level of frustration with obtaining my monthly magazines as I have with this magazine Frankly the content is no longer worth it for me and I will likely allow my subscription to expire in December     App impossible to use
Please fix the glitch where recipes close immediately after opening           Glitchy
I am going back to the print version Trying to use this app on my ipad is useless As mentioned by others every time I try to access a recipe it comes up and immediately goes down Om called customer service where I was told to delete and re install That didnt help Goodbye        Buggy
I have been a subscriber for over a year and it was a great app until this recent version I cant open the recipes because they pop up and immediately go away Please fix because without this feature working correctly the digital version is useless     Cant view Recipes
Reads like the magazine on iPad Air until you try to use a recipe which will flash up then down in the same second I will not use this app without the ability to keep recipes up either reddot recipes embedded in stories or via the recipe repository search option Thanks for the tease Conde     FIX RECIPE POPUp
Another month with this buggy app what a shock Clearly they dont care about their subscribers or they would have fixed this months ago     Crap
Guessing BA got same revision that Vanity Fair did a few months ago where mag only shows up in portrait mode starting with the June 2015 edition Very disappointing I always loved BA on the iPad Cmon Conde Nast bring back landscape mode     Landscape gone
Ive come to realize that having a cookbook on my iPad doesnt really work for me unless one can search for recipes easily and then put them on the screen sans advertising etc and in a manner designed for easiest referral WHILE COOKING I have no idea how or whether or not the bon appetit magazine app does this but I want to UNsubscribe and I have no idea now how to do it IT should be easier Maybe Im just too old now to easily learn new things be able to navigate through another new app but mostlyhow do you unsubscribe           Confusing
I love the magazine but the app doesnt work properly the recipes pop up for a second and then disappear making the app pretty useless     Great magazine buggy app
Cant open any recipes     Buggy
I would not buy this app if you have an older iPad The updates surpassed my iPad and I couldnt access the magazine I called Bon Appetit to ask that they send me the print version for the remainder of my subscription They refused but offered to take an additional 20 for a new subscription I then asked Apple who directed me to the App provider for a partial refund They both refused So I have only accessed 12 of my 20 subscription and have no recourse Very frustrated I do not think my requests were unreasonable     Dont buy if
Would have liked to subscribe to Bon Appetit but lack of landscape mode is a deal killer for this iPad user     No landscape mode
The title of the review refers to the app as well as the magazine Every time I open the app I have to resign in making the experience difficult frustrating and not worth it While I like magazine Ive begun to find the recipes stale and boring I also find the graphics extremely distracting taking away from the reader experience     Not the same
I cannot get past an iPhone 6 advertisement that cycles through four ads continuously At a loss here     iPhone advertisement
I would rather see this magazine with the Zinio program Its faster and reads more like a magazine Zinio has lots of titles to choose from and is easy to use     To slow
When this app works it is great but there have been too many issues to continue using Currently the recipes will start to launch and then immediately close Sometimes you can get them to launch but they will not stay open Previous issues have included the app constantly crashing Fix the bugs and its 4 or 5 stars easily     Too many bugs
Digital version doesnt work with newsstand and support is nonexistent The form they give you to complete and send wont send     Lousy app and support
Im just not a good cook                 Not very interesting
No reason for a 1gb download per issue Also apparently no download status update indicator and no way to set up a queue to download more than one issue or automatically download new issues Together this means I basically never get around to reading my subscription     Each issue takes up too much space
Downloading It does not end You turn the page and Downloading is what you see And you wait and wait and wait Going to delete this app right now Not Bon Appetit more like Bad Apppetit     Useless App
Its easy to use once you figure it out The addition of search capability would be wonderful Thank youGPM              Like App
Terrible waste of money This is my second subscription year The first year was excellent with understandable glitches This updated version is frustrating cannot access the online recipe indexand customer service is useless and frustrating Supposedly not their problem but their online sections No indication on how to coomunicatewith this deptt        Once good now horrible
This magazine seems to be published for the professional chef Recipes do not seem home cook friendly I subscribed to this magazine for a couple of years but stopped The recipes seemed time consuming and often required ingredients I couldnt find locally I like everyday quick supermarket friendly recipes        Recipes are just too upscale
