Despite a few critical reviews I find the game generally well designed didnt wanna change anything Well balanced between challenging and relaxing                 Fun little game

Have not been compelled to write a review in ages I cant even chop down a single tree Tried everything Tried the dpad big button does nothing in front of a tree Tried walking to face the tree Tried tapping on the tree Tried holding down over the tree Edit turns out you can only chop the biggest tree which is stupid AND not explained in the game at all Cant believe this made it onto the featured page Bad even by Apples standards     Controls

Changed my rating because the update really made the controls better Fun game              Update made controls better

Touch controls are pretty good Cute game but not much going on in first few levels Later levels are a little more interesting Updates are improving the experience Note flare gun is a twofinger tap not double tap as explained in the tutorial              Controls are better now

Controls need serious work I cant even play Going to wait around for an update I guess     Unplayable

So I usually dont leave reviews but I felt the need to defend this game To all the reviewers ripping on the instructionsgive it a chance This isnt a Dont Starve resource gathering game its a puzzle game There is a reason you can only chop down certain trees If you could chop down everyone it would make no sense The point of the game is to chop down the largest trees on the map all while avoiding the wolves All you have is an axe and a flare gun to scare away the wolves and limited shots in the flare gun You make your way strategically around the map either staying close to the fire which scares away the wolves or looking creeping around the wolves to the find the big trees The instructions are actually spot on its the fact that they have no explanation at all telling what the game is about or the point of it Thats why I only gave it 4 stars Maybe they did it on purpose but I think it cost them downloads and bad reviews It really is a fun and sometimes tense game try it out              Give it s chance

This game is amazing Its stunning beautiful and lots of fun The only problem is it could use better instructions theyre very unclear that you can only chop down the biggest trees which makes it unusable because you dont know what to do Also the wolves are impossible to get away from I understand its what makes it hard but they will even corner you at the fire and wont leave nomatter what you do Another thing is there should be more things to do more features added because even though its fun to chop down trees and stuff youre very limited on the type of gameplay I think a cool feature and like a campaign or builders mode where you can build things would be quite cool One last problem I have noticed if the navigation of the screen its hard and you cant see anything without being over in that area and without having your fingers all over the screen The map should be a lot easier to see along with the trees you need to chop down              Great game but

Instructions unclear how can I cut a tree Graphics and music is nice but its not working     How to play

Downloaded this D pad is most times unresponsive Would prefer a drag in the direction UI design even w a virtual pad What I really like which seems like unintentional is that you can play it in portrait view If there was some way you could make this a one finger portrait game I would like it a lot more probably However as it stands it really just needs some D pad tweaking and probably some more game balance When a wolf gets you basically youre dead Give the lumberjack more hearts flare drops or the option to make additional campfires        Like the idea D pad needs work

i cant chop trees i even changed the controls so as to use a d pad the button does not work     no chopping trees

This game looks great but the horrible controls ruin the whole experience The game is unplayable Do not purchase     Disappointed

I just finished stage 9 It looks like there might only be three stages left but so far this game has been fun enough to keep my attention Fairly simple concept just chop those large size trees and avoid the wolves My only grip is the wonky stepping due to the grid pattern and the repetitive music Oh and the background doesnt make any sense              Enjoying this game
