I was hoping that this app would be useful in quizzing myself on braille 2 The quiz is great but as soon as you try to enter more than a one cell answer the app crashes Disappointed
How can mindwarrior remain associated with itunes It should be a crime to sell a useless app suvh as this to anyone disabled or not Horrible Final review of this useless app and lousy company Mindwarrior should be ashamed stealing money from the blind The developer is dishonest and pathetic 3 Oct The app crashes when answers to quiz require entry of more than one braille character I emailed the company and will post another comment if the issue is resolved 1Nov Update Bought the app a month ago App has not yet been updatef and will not work on iphone5 Disappointed It has been 2 and 12 mos but the app still wont work on the iphone 5 I hope it is fixed before too long I am in braille 2 and will be learning contracted braille soon still doesnt work
I teach Braille and was hopeful that I had found an app to help students in learning Braille by giving another way to quiz them The potential is there for this to be a great app But it isnt there yet It is the only one I have seen however that even talks about contractions at least at this point There rare several errors when it runs For example the answer the app is looking for doesnt always match the question Sometimes there are contractions in the word being addressed but the app wants uncontracted and there is no way to know until you miss it Also it would help if the answer you type in was not shown in all caps as there is never or rarely a cap sign used in the question If the app wants to quiz single letters and contractions mixed it should apply the use of a letter sign so students realize they are not seeing a contraction This would match how they are taught within Braille curriculums and how their materials will be brailled I tried to contact the developer but couldnt find their email address The app as it is might be worth 99 but the current price is too high compared to other apps Hopeful
I was excited about this app and I agree it is the best of the current programs out now However I found it next to impossible to get the buttons that are on the sides of the interface to respond to touch The landscape option would be a nice feature to add Not worth the money Interface not so good
Very handy application Although the User Interface takes a while to adjust to this is definitely one of the most comprehensive Braille Applications on the App Store It teaches you letters words and even contractions in a way that is very clean and informative The killer feature on this application is definitely the quizzes An easy way to test whether you know the material Recommended for sure to anyone trying to translate braille or learn it on the go Very handy
It has a potential to be a great app but it kept crashing Keep crashing
This is the first braille app I have found that finally includes all the contractions Some of the competitors only did letters and numbers but this one looks great I could give it a 5 but it is 10 and I still need to work with it a bit more The only thing that would make this app the best and give a 5 star from me is to include the contractions and words contracted in the quizes Excellent
The quiz may include contracted Braille but the translation and the rest of the app does not Not contracted
I have tried several of the Braille education apps for iPhone and this was by far the greatest I was most impressed by the inclusion of a Grade 2 cheat sheet Most of the other apps of this kind do not even mention Grade 2 I would have appreciated some detail on punctuation in Braille but the app still exceeded my expectations A Very Good App
Im super excited to have an app that will quiz for grade 2 Braille but as soon as you enter a second cell of Braille it crashes Great idea but crashes
This is the best of the current programs out there right now for learning braille My biggest wish is that it would go beyond just offering quizzes for grade 1 braille uncontracted and include different levels of quizzes for contraction Good but could be better
Grade 2 braille is the only good part of this program If it werent for that then it wouldnt be worth it at all Its poorly executed use of grade 2 but hopefully this program will be improved or someone comes up with something better First of all the interface of this program is terrible I have no idea why the menu is in landscape and every option is in portrait Sometimes the keyboard will get stuck in landscape and makes the quiz impossible to work on It just makes no sense to have it set up this way The flip animation is completely unnecessary Information in the help section is wrong and incomplete Specifically this statement is incorrect The letters KZ are the same as the letters AJ with an additional dot at the bottom left The indicators for capitalization dont show up in the help section The translation mode does not use grade 2 The period translates as 46 when it should be 256 Parentheses and brackets dont show up Capitalization is left out Numbers are not treated correctly Words are not broken up correctly In short the format is totally wrong The translation feature should be eliminated in its present form It does a very poor job You definitely dont want to use this if you are making something to be read by someone who can read braille I would be embarrassing The words function is very limited and is hardly useful I didnt count but theres maybe a dozen or so words None of them in grade 2 braille The quiz is glitchy and the interface needs refined The wrong answer shows up quite frequently especially when the answer is a contraction Flash cards of the contractions would be more useful I dont need to enter the answer if its not in braille The braille entry could be improved Once a letter is entered it would be helpful to have the cell refresh so the next letter can be entered I thought the clear button would have that function but it is a backspace for the braille cells The Braille 2 section is just a list of braille 2 contractions This app has a long way to go before it will be of much use to anyone learning braille Overall poor craftsmanship makes this not worth the money It needs more functionality in grade 2 For the alphabet there are better programs out there but this one could have some potential Needs lots of work but the only brl program with grade 2
