The idea of this app is phenomenal Ill give the people that made this app a star for that But I am not getting any sound from the app I tried reinstalling the app but that didnt work I refuse to let myself realize that I blew seven dollars on a silent app Since this app was last updated in 2010 I highly doubt that the developers will fix this soon or even at all They probably discontinued work on it One star for no sound plus one star for the concept Nice concept No sound
Unique take on the iPad composing genre Fans of loop based composition might dig it First you specify a key then you specify a rhythmic structure for a measure or phrase it randomly iterates a melody to match your rhythm You can play any or all of the phrases it generates by tapping on them Ones you like you can mark for saving Saved phrases form a palette that can be used to compose a song by dragging them into a song structure which can then be played in its entirity Phrases and scales are fully tweakable I cant emphasize enough how cool the UI implements the touch screen The problem is that it is being presented as a composition tool but its crying out to be a DAW Your melodic voice within the app is limited to a basic MIDI piano expected and sax as awful as it was on your SCC1 Creatively you might think why would I ever want this but the beauty and the fun is in checking out its iterations and selecting the ones you like It simply feeds that idea generator in your head But while the generative ability is great for writers block where it falls down is in its ability to get your ideas out of the app Once youve parsed out your song its up to you to recreate it elsewhere At the very minimum it needs the ability to export MIDI data for the songs and phrases youve created Add that and itll be a four star app Unique Take
