The C&O Companion is now available for $2.99 for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 1.4 MB to download. The new C&O Companion app version 1.1.2 has been updated on 2014-11-25. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. I just got back from a trip where I used this app and I pleasantly surprised It was useful and motivating to know how far destinations are I also used it for planning my trip                     Great app for c o users MattyK1

Bought for iPad this is an iPhone app But it should work Why not Nope I tell it manually that I am at mile 58 harpers ferry and the amenities listed at that location none null set nada Love the website This is a GREAT service Not upset if I pushed a little money to the author of the website as it is wonderful But it no work on iPad     Don t work on ipad Mystery Man

Crashes every time you select a button for services lodging food etc Only the GPS map option works which is unnecessary since markers are a mile apart and easily seen on the trail Waste of money and useless on this trip     Buggered Katelyn_M.186

Most of my long rides have some component of the C O involved this app is a super helpful resource if only to answer the question I usually have where the heck am I Knowing where the closest H B campsite is relative to my current location where the closest civilization point is super useful If you re going to be on the C O for any reason for any length of time this is a tremendous resource Worth every penny UPDATE Oct 2012 I am honestly puzzled by the one star reviews I ve never had a problem with the app and I ve used it many times from mile 0 in DC all the way to Cumberland Still my favorite biking app and I wish there was a comparable one for the GAP                     My favorite biking app 9ball

I was looking forward to using this app while on the C O Unfortunately it didn t work at all the entire time I was on the trail so it was useless a waste of 2 99 Every time I loaded the app it said that it was looking for my location All of my other GPS based apps worked fine but not this one Really disappointed     Useless 1951Cyclist

Great app highly recommend it to anyone riding the C O towpath Invaluable for figuring out what s nearby and determining H B campsites on the fly Even though cell coverage is spotty along parts of the C O my network was always available making this app worth the money Thanks to whoever put this app together                     Handy resource C&O Bike Rider

If you spend time on the canal get this app It is worth having the contact number on you alone The list of real time canal access points is very useful Suggestion It would be great to track where you have been on past trips link photos dates push pins etc Thanks for one of my favorite apps                     Great App SilveradoBob

I downloaded this app before a tour on the C O towpath It came in very handy for locating campsites and planning out our days I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to bike the C O                     Invaluable Tool Ogroat

Absolutely great app for riding the trail Just two minor suggestions Allow the user to manually locate themselves on the path instead of using GPS The sync option is great for low service but on our long trip I had my phone in airplane mode most of the way do it wouldn t burn through the battery trying to contact far away cell towers This meant that I had no GPS lock and made navigation through the app a bit less convenient Summary information from yelp would be helpful in finding food stops and perhaps add link outs to the full we page Thanks for putting this together                     Invaluable M B
