Overall the gameplay is kinda boring Also it seems the main objective is to wander around spamming fire in infinite randomly generated dungeons Im being nice be glad its two stars        Needs work

Fun gauntlet like monster killing game                 Wow

Its a fun game but the fact you have to BUY other dungeons just ruined it for me And also what is the gold for Is it just there for decoration or do you actually buy stuff with it And I dont know why everyones saying how great the sound effects aretheres barely any to begin with It could also use some kind of music or something in the background Like I said I lik it but i wish it were more like Gauntlet        Close but no cigar

Responsibly this game handles really well I dont have to wait half a second for the character to respond Dungeons are cool nice job I think my biggest complaint is that the music is contextually out of place This game tends to be fast paced but the music is less rhythmically active and lacks the drive that I think this game needs The music itself is well written and I find myself listening to the music only but in combination with the style game play it is lacking Also metal grating for drainage is a characteristic of the late industrial revolution and would not have been found during this time period              Nice job

Great action good visuals tons of replay My only issue is with the music and thats an easy fix You have these beautiful tracks but you give them as random 30 second samples in between nothing Find some appropriate cues and keep the right one going during specific moments I dont want the final fantasy town music during an intense fight with a lot of baddies              Addictively Fun

Ok both this and solomons boneyard are each their own individual games with separate strengths and weaknesses What I wish could be done is combine the level aspect of this game with everything else being from solomons boneyard This would be a KICKA hybrid game and would be king if multiplayer were incorporated So to sum up since I kind of got off trackthis is a very mediocre game with nothing to really offer us the gamer and gives little reason to buy this over any other similar game           Ugh

Ive been through 12 levels so far and Im having a lot of fun but I was really hoping to hear Warrior needs food badly and other such gems from Gauntlet Of course Gauntlet is copyrighted material so I guess I cant complain too much The game mechanics are very similar to the early Gauntlet games so its a smash on that front Younger players might want to have a bit more in the way of character development but Im satisfied with this very nice rehack of the old classic              Fun but not quite the same as my childhood

I was looking for Gauntlet on the app store and came across Catacombs Glad I gave it a try I love it Didnt realize this is the same company behind the I Dig It franchise as well Quality product with a great reputation for tip notch design and UI Get this one Gauntlet fans you will not be disappointed              Gauntlet fans rejoice

Add more areas for free And more enemies                 Fun and a decent game

Overall its a fun game and does have some replay value to it but with just one quest left for me to finish on getting 1 million gold there is nothing left and like others no access to forest levels I hope they fix it ad well as add more to it so it can be played more by those who are done with it as it stands now                 Good game but

Complete LACK of updates Dont expect to see any iOS 5 Compatability updates or any updates in general been abandoned for over a year now Sure its a good game but updates keep things fresh This game is well stale           Great Game But

Looking for Gauntlet clone or just need to get a Diabolo fix then this will certainly do It does just about every thing youd expect from a topdown shooter ala Alien Breed The controls are some of the best twinstick out there smooth and variable allowing for a level of precision the 8direction shooters just cant match The graphics are ok but are a little flat The entire games presentation could be significantly improved with even basic shadows allowing the nice hand drawn art to pop where at the moment object appear paper thin A game play tweak that is needed is to allow pickups to be stored until needed Some of the buffs are cool but I always seem to have them when I really dont need them I played through the first 67 levels and only encountered two enemy types Im ok with that but not if the two units dont change behaviors as I progress My interest in continuing declined as I saw that enemies were not changing as I went further I was really yearning for a boss fight but became bored with the game before I found one if there are any So why 4 stars then Its the potential for this to be primetime A few graphic tweaks and a more refined challengereward system and this could be awesome Grey Matter              Pleasant Suprise

Not a bad dungeon crawler but it gets repetitive and there isnt much variance in characterenemy design or build If youre looking for a great dungeon crawler and have 99 to spare Id recommend Solomons Keep           Meh

ok this game is good but it is basicly a very nice looking gauntlet right down to the keysmonster generators invisible walls even the power ups like bouncing shots where this improves on gauntlet is the mini map up top and the fact you can place stat points in different areas the gold is used to buy the thief character but other than that there is no use picking it up it would be nice to see some items for sale to improve stats even more if you like gauntlet then by all means get this if your looking for a diablo substitute then keep looking              blue wizard needs food badly

I really like this game It is interesting and fun to play Can customize the attributes alittle but theere is a max and then you just spend your point elsewhere Only 1 level so cant do all the quests I knocked 1 star off because I found it hard to find the quests Good graphics and fun to play              Gauntlet but better

Okay the idea and graphics is good but the whole gameplay is boring I mean there is only 1 thing u can buy with the ingame money and its not even worth it Whenever u get leveled up there are only 3 things u can power up and they dont even make a difference For example after I upgraded my strength to the last level lvl 20 it was only about 20 stronger it still requires 2 hits to kill a spider There r better games that have the same idea but better gameplaycheck Solomons boneyard     Baaaaad

i love this game it really fun Objective is simple gameplay is not very challenging Graphis are cool good ingame music But only has 1 level the company is not generating enough money for more levels i bought this game before i emailed them about not adding more levels but i still play this game often might be a good buy if you dont really care about other levels              appletonquarters

Wow Just wow When i went browsing the App Store for a Gauntlet game or clone thereof a few popped out at me But Catacombs was by far the most attractive and appealing of them all And to top it all it was free The moment i downloaded the game and started playing i was totally immersed in the game Since this game follows a path more faithfully to a game like Gauntlet among others is that you collect gold for points like Gauntlet You also get to choose which character to play between a warrior mage Wizard Archer Elf Thief One short fall as opposed to a valkyrie The game is free Did i mention it is also free and with all that for just a measly 15mb download it would be nuts NOT to get the game                 Every Gauntlet Fans Dream

This is a great game One of the best dungeon crawlers out there regardless of your skill level you will find a setting thats comfortablefrom casual players to hardcore gamers this is one we can all enjoy A must have for anyoneperiod                 Awesome

Not bad I have hopes for future improvement 1 Ambient and combat sounds could be improved 2 Gameplay needs to be able to be saved so that a player can continue where he left off 3 Game movement could be smoother faster or both 4 More variety in environment interaction say something like adding traps Allinall a good beginning for a hack n slash Adding limited roleplaying elements like skills or abilities would be nice These issues should be resolved before anyone should buy the next chapter        Needs an Update

I found this game to be a whole lot of fun when I first started playing it The graphics sound and gameplay are all top notch However contentwise it is rather shallow and gets very repetitive fairly quickly After a week or so Ive pretty well abandoned it But it is certainly worth the 099 price           Fun at first then repetitive

This is by far the most all around pollished free game i have played for a while It is almost an exact clone of Guantlet with a few added touches to spice it up You level up gradually and can pour the points that you get into stats such as hp and stuff like that One of my favorite free apps Get it              A Pretty Decent Free Dungeon Crawler

So far i am level 9 and in the dungeon map 8 I have not played Diablo but am a master at Gauntlet Ever played Fate the computer game Well this is a mix of Fate and the Arcade Gauntlet not Gauntlet Legends but the old 2D Gauntlet Hopefully im not being too repetitive but this is a good game                 So far So AWESOME

When I shell out 99 of my hard earned copper Abrahams for a game I expect it to be nothing less than a fully fledged simulation of the entirety of life and existence in its full glory Therefore I must reluctantly award only four stars to this mightily wonderful game which falls just one rung short of simulating my real life existence on the celestial ladderopolous Give it a try              Magnificent
