The Chess Player is now available for $3.99 for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is supporting different languages: English, Esperanto, French, German, Russian. It weighs in at only 4.0 MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. Nice app Chuck please let us search for specific players or openings Also it would really help it you would note the opening for those of us still learning Ruy Lopez etc in a future update Finally can you pls get rid of the time reset featurebug Im 25 moves into a great game and if my 2 yr old interrupts me for 5 min it erases the whole game and starts a new one No way to navigate back either Really annoying if youre following a good game Im glad this app is here and hope it continues to improve Thoughts

Do not buy Most of the games are boring draws some are only 16 moves and the rest are from noname players It appears that Chuck just grabbed the first set of games from a badly organized Chessbase Chess player

Simply great You can watch games of chess masters in one of the best 2D graphic for iPhone Improvement Id like to see 1 Please remove draw games 2 Ability to load own database 3 Dont worry about the move guessing capability To my chess friend who request this option you can guess before you hit the forward button Hope there will be updates on this Great one Awesome Room for improvements

Chuck as I mentioned it needs more 1 Ability to load such a number of games 25 to 100 to see the games Offline It is frustrating not be able to use it during an airplane trip Come on those are ASCII files 2 Add the choice to file games locally as Favorites This way the user can go back and restudy 3 Save contest to allow users go back to the point of the game when it was closed 4 Add a way to users to see the game TEXT file and jump to any place of the game 5 Allow the user to continue manually a game that was not finished in Checkmate Of course keep adding TEXTplays over the original file game to be able to go back when needed Congratulations for the application It is a great concept to learn Chess I look forward to see those features implemented Great for Version 1 but the application needs more

I waited to buy this due to other reviews Should have waited a bit longer App has serious issues So far it is 2 for 2 on freezing either before or after a game I even went to the creators website and left a message wanting to know when the update would be available He promptly deleted my message and never replied NEEDs SERIOUS work to be worth four dollars 4 bucks for a game that consistenly freezes

Excellent within clearly defined functionality this is an ideal use of the iPhone There isnt any better way to observe the chess of the greats The games are interesting the interface is straightforward and the app does not duplicate the purpose of the other chess apps Just waiting for Pocket Fritz Superb

Well considering how much you pay for the app is not justified by the cost The concept is amazing though 1st Con It freezes At times when you play a preview of a match and then in the middle just hit new it will for some reason freeze 2nd Con There is certain times when the game would say one side has won But would make no sense as to how the player won Some explanation would be nice 3rd Con There is no way to resume a preview if the app is accidently closed Not Bad but Not GREAT

Excellent choice of games but in future updates I would like to see a couple of features 1 Give the user an option to search the database for select playersgames 2 Give re user an option to guess the move in the game with a right or wrong indicator 3 Have the option to rotate veiw so the user can see the game from either side Other than this its an excellent app Nice appbut

Library is perfect has enough games indeed definitely worth five stars on the next update if the programmers could please add another button next to New thats labeled list so we can select which Grandmaster to review At the moment we are in the mercy of the New button Exactly what I was looking for the best

If you love chess this Is the app to have However they could make some improvements It would help if they would explain why someone wins when its not clear Also it should start on play as a default Also its annoing when the screen goes dark Otherwise its a great app Good app
