Really do like the action graphics and sound effects I especially enjoy the effects of terrain on troops as they become unformed and have to be reformed and that cavalry can dismount and form a line In Civil War 1861 artillery can join with infantry but cannot in the 1862 game Wish it could happen in this game The drawback to combining artillery and infantry in 1861 was that you could not separate the infantry from the artillery leaving the artillery in place The artillery had to be separated The benefit of joining them in 1861 was that the artillery could move faster when with the infantry I really wish there could be open ended battles where I could select the objectives and not be forced to only attack head on due to turn limit constraints In the full scenario of Bull Run in the 1861 game my forces in the north were doing a holding action while I was taking the Confederate second group of reinforcements and sweeping south across the river coming up on the Union left flank and about to start attacking across the fords and bridges to join the flank attack when the game ended in defeat due to time constraints which I did not understand at the time Had there been more time I could have rolled up the union line and isolated the Union s northern forces The tutorial is excellent in both games and explains most of my questions Readily availabe access to help topics is excellent and beneficial even during the heat of combat I have only played most of the first 1862 campaign but am thoroughly enjoying the action There is supposed to be strategic movement in 1862 but have not found any explanation of it yet Perhaps that is to come I have had no problems with freezing or of units not doing as they are supposed to Both the 1861 and 1862 games are worth the price and provide a lot of entertainment                 Civil War 1862 Roy Hook

this game is amazing and if u like strategy games u will definetly love it I dont like strtegey games that much but i love it U should definetly get it You have to do the tutorial or else its confusing The only problem is the price but i think its worth the price                     best war game AVS58

These are the best Civil War games out there Closest thing to the old Civil War Generals series from Sierra that were so fun to play The units and maps are right with history I only wish they had more battles campaigns for each of the years and I hope there will be additions with future updates etc These games are easy and fun great strategy There should be campaigns for Shiloh Antietam Fredericksburg Seven Days Shenandoah battles out far West Murfreesboro etc Please make more campaigns and additions                     awesome game lukebrown88

The game plays very well and is very entertaining The bugs encountered in previous versions seem to have been fixed it has frozen once or twice but this has been very rare There is enough variety in the scenarious objectives and landscapes that the game stays interesting even after many plays The differences in units experience and muskets vs rifles requires attention and adjustments to tactics                     Really enjoyable ntkod

But this game is great I m a fan of turn based strategy games and this game delivers The pace is just right giving you time to think without the drudgery of micromanaging economies or vast empires Each battle is concise but dynamic Best feature No in game purchases                     I rarely leave reviews mrginandtonic

For the price of two beers on a hot summers day this game has given me more enjoyment than that The game gives you three levels of difficulty to choose from I explored all the capabilities and stradgies of the game on the easy level first I am glad that I did because I needed the experience for the more difficult levels You can do many things with your units besides just shooting at each other You can fix bayonets and charge you can use cavalry canons go into buildings etc It is a tactically driven game that will evaluate your abilities to command an army in battle The only thing missing is a naval battle to run blockades it does have an ironclade ship field hospitals in the rear area for the wounded in your units to go and recharge them from a health level of 2 back up to a 10 for example Other than that this game is hours of great fun for a strategic minded person Billy Allmon U S Navy SEAL retired Class 58                     EXCELLENT GAME usn5326

The Kind of Game I have been looking for on the Mac for a while a balance between the Hex games which are turn based but mainly to do with one country defeating another and the Take Command series On Windows which deal with smaller specific engagements but are in real time I can strongly reccommend this Game to anyone who likes that sort of balance                     Great Game frustrated26
