Lets leave aside the fact that look and feel are copied almost pixel by pixel from the Classics app What continues to amaze me is how people put out editions of Jules Verne with absolutely no attention to the quality of the translations Its not just iPhone apps that do this mainstream publishers do the same thing all the time Here F P Walters excellent translation of 20000 Leagues is joined with the hatchet job version of Journey to the Center of the Earth the one that renames the charcters changes their nationality leaves out significant portions of Vernes text and adds fantasias of the translators own invention The version of Mysterious Island is another butchered version with Vernes characters and politics all undergoing unaccountable transformation There are acceptable public domain versions of all these texts Please iPhone bookapp creators PAY ATTENTION to which text youre using Mediocre at best
