This dictionary has been an incredible help in my studies of Spanish The fact that it has expression and many examples in it really makes learning easier I am now at level C1 and the dictionary still provides me with a wealth of information                     Best dictionary I have used I hope this nickname is not taken

This is a long overdue Thank You I bought the hardback version 16 years ago as an interpreter working throughout Mexico the Caribbean and Latin America Seeing the translations by country was a huge advantage When I purchased the app several years ago I thought it sufficient but not on par with the hard copy Yesterday I had to translate for the first time in years It was insurance requirements legalese I had the hard copy by my side and didn t need to refer to it I was amazed at how the app has evolved Best app ever I keep it on the front screen of my iPhone for quick access since I m working with contractors from Mexico for when I need a Spanish word quickly that I ve either forgotten or never knew                     Best ever Austin Location Scout

While the Collins dictionary app is about the same price as you can get the hardcover dictionary on amazon it is well worth having for the serious student and translator I own both and have not been able to discern any real difference in terms of word and usage content The app also has links to Wiki content for most if not all entries which is a big plus While I grew up and spent the vast majority of my career in foreign languages long before the information revolution I embrace this technology                     Expensive but worth it jaydub1948

I bought this dictionary some time ago Paid full price 30 dollars or so When I transferred the app to a new phone it said there was an update available So I updated What happened is that my excellent offline dictionary with conjugations and all that was magically replaced with a crappy online version sans conjugations etc Fortunately I had the app backed up on a laptop and simply deleted the new crappy updated one So in short DO NOT UPDATE THIS APP             Sir Lonnie Manxxx

This dictionary does not only have a lot of words it is also enshrined in a powerful app My only reservation it s quite difficult to select and copy from the app This is important if you use the dictionary in conjunction with a flash cards app which is the logic thing to do if you want to learn new Spanish words In this case it s a real pain to select text from the dictionary and when you paste it in the other app it comes spread in many lines and with many inappropriate blank spaces                 Great app almost D_or 2000

I have bought a couple of the other Spanish dictionaries on the store and this one is the best I have seen one of the best things about it is the data which is extremely thorough for all the entries when it needs to be it has every word I have needed to search for so far The data itself can be very deep on some of the entries but the interface in the app allows easy access to all of it through a convenient index button All the example sentences are searchable and I haven t seen the convenient example jump feature in any other app This feature is pretty useful when I want to find other phrases or examples with the same words making it easier to remember The conjugation feature is a must have on any Spanish dictionary so I am glad to see it included All in all the app is very solid and stable and I am very happy with the purchase I hope to see even more added to this app and I can see it becoming even greater Thanks                     Best on the store Tom_72

I ve used this app for about a year on my iPhone and a few months on my iPad The app is stable and reliable the underlying dictionary is the most complete I ve found especially regional aspects of Spanish Bookmarked words can be synced via iCloud between iOS devices which completely rocks Recommended without reservations                     The Best Spanish English Dictionary AGM USA

This version has an unfortunate bug that requires owners of previous versions to delete the app and re install it but other than that it is a great update I love having iPhone 5 support and it has some nice UI tweaks The app is well worth the money to me you get all of the Collins Spanish English dictionary in a much more convenient and portable version You can search on conjugated forms of the verbs and there are pronunciations as well Unlike some other apps the pronunciations are built in to the app and don t require internet access which is a mixed blessing since it does make the app rather large                     Finally iPhone 5 support Ron from Oswego

This dictionary has turned out to be the most used app on my iPhone I read a variety of materials and Collins has rarely disappointed me Everything is fast snappy the app loads up instantly There is a very plain looking user interface but loads of functionality Everything works without a need for internet connection including the pronunciation which are provided for both English and Spanish Hyperlinks are embedded into every word so you can tap on one whether it is inflected or not and it will take you to the entry s page You can look up verbs in their infinitive or conjugated form It doesn t matter because the dictionary will recognize them all Full verb conjugation charts are provided for every verb This makes it great for beginners who need constant reference to verb conjugations as well as for advanced students who need to be reminded of the conjugations for some of the more exotic or rare verbs although in this respect the conjugations don t always seem to be accurate The verb asir shows aso as the first person singular yet if you look up asgo in the search bar it will clearly refer you back to asir So my advice is not to put your complete faith in this tool for other than the essential and common verbs What I like about Collins is that instead of listing a bunch of translations for a given word as many concise dictionaries do it actually tells you the different nuances of the word helping you to distinguish in what cases to use each one For example if you want to say flat nose you ll see that the Spanish word for flat is plano but of course you wouldn t say nariz plana but nariz chata which Collins makes clear In many entries there are loads of example sentences all marked in blue for easy viewing in order to clearly illustrate usage in case a mere translation does not suffice Among the really cool search features are the ability to filter only English or Spanish results or both if you want If you re looking up a word like frugal which is the same spelling in English as in Spanish this really comes in handy to take away from unnecessarily cluttered or confusing search results The ability to browse words from the ending also exists I m not sure if this feature ever came in handy for me though More importantly you can search examples Great feature if you want to search for an idiom of a certain verb say poner instead of having to scroll through the myriads of examples to get to the one you want you can just type it in and press enter If there was one thing to criticize it is that the screen space is not optimized for the iPad It only looks like a blown up phone app The search bar is tiny and located in the very top which makes it uncomfortable to use when the screen is so big If you re an advanced student and you are looking for a good dictionary for the iOS platform you have a few choices This one is my recommendation It s expensive and there are very cheap or free dictionaries out there but don t expect to get premium content without paying for it or using ad supported software I ve also tried Word Magic Unabridged which costs about the same as this one but I don t like it because of it s confusing and overwhelming interface Just my preference though                     The Best Bilingual Spanish Dictionary for iPhone Dudewhere's my bars

i love pretty much everything about this dictionary but one feature stands out as particularly awesome it allows you to search the numerous sample sentences phrases for a word or phrase see the provided screenshots for an example with the word love it s a very helpful feature not only can you type in a single word like love as the example shows but you can type in multiple words e g love is blind this is helpful for learning phrases and seeing examples of their use                     awesome boozekron

Real bad I trusted those who said good things about it I am disappointed It is not user friendly Also Try to look for the conjugation of a Spanish verb and you will be frustrated The description is very deceiving I bought other dictionaries one is the Larousse French English for only 5 and honestly if they ask 100 for it I will gladly pay it but this one I sincerely believe I wasted my money It is not even worth the one star I had to give it     Bad Salut a tout

The app is great but conjugated verbs must be defined The hardest part of learning spanish is remembering the many conjugation of those 1000 s verbs Most people don t already know them so that means that half the words in the dictionary are undefined Needs a long awaited update Too expensive to lack this basic requirement         Disappointed Kdove98

As I used the app more and got familiar with the format of this dictionary it has rewarded me greatly and it has been very helpful to my Spanish learning thus far I use it quite frequent I was very frustrated initially because I was unfamiliar with the layout But it s got every word wordform I ve searched for without ads or gimmicky graphics However the conjugation screen terms are a bit confusing I assume they use the British terms which are different from American in many instances I would recommend that they have a screen that displays the definitions in English of all the conjugation terms that are used perhaps with an example and also include the same definitions for those used in the Spanish conjugations It seems like this app is best for young smart AP students but I m 30 yrs beyond that it s taken me some time to re learn all the pedagogical terms                 Comprehensive but give it time BensFlare

This is a very large dictionary app 600 mb So the dictionary is very complete but if you have a 16 gb iPad iPhone its going to take a significant amount of your storage space It appears that the different versions of the Collins dictionaries were done by different companies and have different interfaces This one is a straight dictionary with recodeded pronunciations Ultralingua has conjugations and numbers but fewer words It all depends on which you features you want It s too bad that there isn t more of a comparision but at 20 per app its too expensive to buy just to write a review Check the pictures in the App Store                 Large and Different Houdini1900

I use this dictionary every day To me the Harper Collins is the number one academic resource encompassing regional idioms and meanings that lesser bilingual dictionaries do not have It truly is a magnificent resource The developers have made some user interface improvements but the Harper Collins is not as easy to use for the more casual Spanish speaker as some of the smaller intermediate dictionaries Those who don t need an unabridged dictionary such as the traveler may prefer some other product                 Complete and thorough Howard9999
