Decided to try CoPilot because I needed maps of Canada and to get away from the now Garminruined Navigon I first went to my home location only to see a maze of streets that doesnt exist complete with street names my neighbors driveway is a named street my street a private road for four homes shows continuing thru a forested area to connect to another street blocks away on the other side I entered my work address to save to the GPS a well known major street it cannot locate the address but only offers an adress nearest the one I entered on the same street I looked for a gas station and a restaurant a short distance away on a nearby street corner none to be found These three examples are the first three test I have done after downloading it and all three inaccurate I havent touched it since and am curious now to see just how bad this app really is It seems to have a low quality UI and graphics maybe I am used to Google Maps with their polished UI and data but I needed a new GPS app with onboard maps Help Google Update Used it while driving from Bellevue to Seattle While looking at the screen the highlighted path showed correct but the alert on the bottom of the screen was saying to exit 405 in 200 feet at the next exit which of course I did not knowing it was incorrect but after passing the exit it kept giving other voice instructions as if I had gotten off all the while the highlighted path on the highway remained correct        Not Just Ready For Prime Time Yet

Im using this app with Garmin Glo on my iPad The iPhone already has GPS capability so you can turn off cellular data and with the CoPilot Maps you have a great GPS I Highly recommend this App                 Best GPS

I use this app mainly in New York City For those unfamiliar with New York its divided into five boroughs Manhattan Brooklyn Bronx Staten Island and Queens The first four boroughs i mentioned are easily searchable Queens however is a different matter I have to know which section of Queens Im traveling Long Island City or Jackson Heights in order to find an address in Queens           Queens NY

This is potentially a five star navigation app Reality dictates a two star rating because of the numerous quirks not to mention the total lack of ubiquity for that speed limit display which is almost nonexistent If the developers step up to the challenges it could be five star otherwise my best advice for US Canada is to get the Garmin app           Needs Work

Its not to bad but POI options such as gas stations are not accurate When test searching for the closest gas station it said it was 30 miles away when i know that there are dozens within a couple of miles           OK but POI is faulty

Although there are shortcomings in all apps I cant think of any particular issues I have with this app I love how you can use it without utilizing data from the data plan Recommend it highly                 Great GPS app

I had used an older version before on my iPhone and iPad and it worked OK except that quite a few local height restrictions werent in the CoPilot database I used this for a motorhome I sent in data updates to ALK and eventually they were added but I question the completeness of their database Another issue that I had was in the alternate routing a primary route will avoid a height restriction but alternates wont and the app wont display the height restrictions I reported that bug last year My latest problem is that the app crashes on the iPad and iPhone so frequently that it is completely unusable Until that is fixed I cannot recommend the app at all     Not currently working

Why oh why do you have it so it routes you off a parkway youre driving on only to get back on it after     GPS still bad

This doesnt use data which is nice But one complaint when youre looking for nearby POIs why isnt there a way to continue looking further and further It gives you locations within a mile of your location but then stops Itd be nice to see Restaurants within 25 miles of your location              Nice for people that dont want to use data

Connection to the app store has timed out 318 Well I cant do much with that can I Paid for traffic too Im feeling kinda foolish now Thanks ALK     Cant use cant get maps

This program is complete fail Itll start the mapping process but it never follows the GPS If it does is so sporadic you could never work with Complete waste of my money And when I tried to contact support they just Asking the same question until I went away     Copilot live premium

I use this app all the time It works perfectly Pin point directins and the accutraffic Is great Lets me know where theres traffic and helps detour if ones available                 Awesome app

Immediately after the last update to the North America paid CoPilot app on iPhone 6 with iOS 841 was released on Sept 4 it crashes on startup and never runs Whats this means is that the CoPilot app ran just fine on iPhone 6 with the latest iOS 841 up until the CoPilot app update Tried rebooting iPhone 6 and then restarting app same result Please fix asap or refund back to credit card Some of depend on this not only as google maps backup but use it as primary navigation when theres no cell signal and when you cant plan your route in advance to use the google maps offline route cache     Latest update on iPhone 6 iOS 841 Crashes App

It might Have incorrect exit numbers Want you to turn onto a road that does not exist Not have the road you need to travel on in the maps Have you exit the highway just to have you get right back onto the very same highway Not detour you correctly around traffic or detour you into more traffic than you are trying to escape While this app may get you home it has real problems that lead to a lot of frustrating navigation        Will get you home but

For the most part I have been pleased with CoPilot Driving directions have been accurate and I like that alternate routes are easy to choose It features offline maps and includes traffic for a year My only real complaint is the interface I think they could simplify the interface Also make some of the touch buttons slightly larger for bigger fingers They flattened the UI to keep with iOS except for the actual map and navigation view which still has the old nonflat look              good navigation app

Good app to use without network or Internet connection Especially helpful for use driving the ALCAN AlaskaCanadian Hwy where service is very intermittent Caused more than a few wrong turns in traffic because of lag in turn direction in closeit tells you to turn right onto a street and youve already turned right based on signage and you should now be turning left for an upcoming intersection leading to some confusion The ETA bug is still there Also you should be able to program your own estimated average speed based on current road conditions When using the settings to actually try to do this the speed you input is obviously not applied Worth buying however for its versatility and offline use           Good App

Planned a trip from New Jersey to Canada I needed an offline GPS navigation app because I knew going into Canada I would be charged extra for cellular data So CoPilot premium seemed to be the best choice and I got it on sale for about 13 Trip routing was excellent for the most part that is until I got close to the Canadian border For some reason CoPilot navigated me off the main Interstate and onto local back roads that took me through the middle of towns with road speeds of 25MPH Though I had Toll Roads selected in preferences CoPilot didnt allow me to use the NY Thruway which would have been much faster and a more direct method to the Canadian border Peace Bridge Another problem I found is that it didnt give me the opportunity to select multiple routes as other navigation systems usually do Had that feature been available I could have selected alternate and faster routes to my destination Still I was quite satisfied with the way this app quickly rerouted me on the way home when I ignored its back road directions and took the NY Thruway instead Once it got on MY directions it kept me there Nice touch that you get a years worth of active traffic for free or at least I did Traveling during the night to avoid traffic didnt allow me to use the feature to its potential In all I am very happy with this app and plan to use it again Hope ALK Technologies improves some of the routing options              Works very well though perhaps via not the best route

CoPilot is now worthless to me as I can no longer install preplanned TRP route files or OV2 POI files This is do to the changes in iOS 83 for Apps that dont support File Sharing Prior to iOS 83 you could use open access to CoPilot files This backdoor has been closed in iOS 83 Now Apps must support File Sharing if you want to send them datafiles Since TrimbleALKCoPilot has ignored customer requests for the File Sharing feature for over a year I dont see any hope for them adding that feature now     CoPilot is not keeping up with changes in iOS

Ive tried all the nav apps and I like this one the best Maps are clear clean and attractive price is decent plenty of customization choices                 Great

Its better than a 300 GPS definitely worth the money too bad I accidentally deleted it but I went back and bought it again I dont feel that I wasted my money                 It worth it good investment

I read the previous reviewsand dont know what the issue is I have had this app for SEVERAL months pre IOS 7 and it has worked fine pre update and after I WOULD NOT trade this app for any other GPS APP out there                 AWESOME

When I enter a destination and click go I get a voice direction to go a certain distance and then make a turn And thats the last I hear of it No direction when I reach the turn point no additional voice directions The idea IMO is to not have to look at the map           Not Enough Voice Directions

This GPS nav saved my trip to Canada I only wish I downloaded it before heading to Toronto though I had my iPhone but only works all the way to the US border I didnt have international roaming which causing any of my maps useless Desperate to have GPS guidance that works offline battling between prices I ended up getting this app because its so much cheaper than the competition My standalone 6 year old GPS navigation by Tomtom is almost useless cannot find the street destination were heading in Scarborough But this app saved my whole week in Canada from Toronto suburbs to Niagara and their extra big freeways that is a little bit confusing My verdict instead of buying standalone GPS this is the way to go You cant go wrong with 1399 and the map is updated Your standalone GPS map might be outdated in 2 years and they ask more money from you Why 4 stars then There is some minor bug that I need to address to the developer and help people decide before buying this app The first and only problem I encountered is the voice guidance When I first launch the app the voice works then when we left the area no sound coming out Basically Im just relying visually on the map if you are the kind of driver who cannot drive without voice guidance you might not like this So what I did when I had the chance I kill the app in the background and relaunch the app It did happen to me a couple of times I also had the incident where I was playing music and no voice guidance coming out Did the same thing while on the road relaunch the app and it works after that Which can be a safety issue if you are dealing this kind of stuff and get frustrated I hope theyll fix this problem so people could make an easy decision purchasing this app              Trip to Canada

The tracking is good but the routing suggested offers very poor choices for the roads that are available I realize this is somewhat subjective but I have learned it is best not to follow copilots routing choices Save your money There is better out there I would lower my rating from a 3 star to a 1 star but the review app wont let me 6222014 The map location only updates every 15 to 30 seconds I dont know if this is the app or my ipad In a highly congested jungle of roadways the updating is too slow 7252014 The review app will now let me reduce the number of stars from 3 to 1 star So I did     Poor routing

Great application to use but when you have both USA and Europe versions on the ipad you cant read the new white lettering to tell them apart on the new icon Please change font to a darker color              Icon

Google maps It gives great road detail gives great warning to lane changes and is bold in color and gives great detail at a glance                 Its better than

The feature set keeps improving The maps are regularly updated to include obscure locations Very customizable Better than any stand alone unit                 Best of any other option

App works great by far my favorite travel and maps app Retired and travel extensively                 4th gen iPad

This is the finest Nav application I have ever used its intuitive recalcs quickly and is very accurate                 Excellent

App works just as advertised on phone and 4g iPad But on wifi iPad it constantly loses GPS fix and doesnt provide same guidance as promised If youre not connected to wifi you get a list of directions not actual guidance Map download was a headache but once its completed you never have to do it again Overall not what I was looking for              Good app but

Excellent app Needs the following changes to be 4 stars 1 App need more lane guidance while on highways and city streets Eg when on a city street with multiple turning lanes 2 Needs POI database updated 3 Access to music should be on main screen 4 Saved position should be on map when a user touches the map that should be one of the pop up options Presently one must go another screen under more 5 Navigation screen should also display distance to destination and distance traveled        Lane Guidance

I previously purchased the Magellan Road Mate app to us for trip planning It is an epic failure and their customer support is non existent Magellan proved nothing but failure in two of three routing modes Now I have turned to CoPilot So far it has proven to be very difficult to use and laborious What I want from a routing map is simple I want to be able to pick waypoints from the map to plan my route the exact way I want to go not how the application wants me to go When I do this it does not put each waypoint in the order I select them so I am forced to move them to their correct order Each waypoint is created as a stop That means I have to select each one in order to change it to a Route Through Here waypoint A simple task is made extremely difficult Ill keep working at it to see if I am missing soetching but my time searching the forum and users guide has been less than helpful        So far not so good

On a recent trip to Toronto this app performed admirably I strongly considered buying a standalone gps but this app with its offline maps did the job perfectly Poi were up to date from what we saw I used navfree before and while good This one is worlds apart This was used On an iphone5                 Performed well

Great for navi with no data connection but this app draws power like no other navi app Apple maps and google maps draw wayyyy less power for some reason           Good but crushes the battery

Has been my main stay GPS since buying the app just works I really dont understand some of the neg reports choppy I Use it on iPhone and mini not true To add address etc so much easier then any GPS I have used responsive super quick perfect NO but no GPS is perfect                 Great app

Beware since iOS 83 you can no longer import route files gpx trp or other due to new security restrictions by Apple The reason for my one star rating is there is a clear disconnect between the developers and the support team It would be a simple fix for the developers to allow importing from say Dropbox Its done in many many apps Yet Copilots support people either say it cant be done or theyll pass along the suggestion to the developers Months years laternothing No updates no direction no announcement for this oftrequested feature Thats no way to treat customers that are trying to make your product better Id happily pay for the app but as it stands I requested a refund Ill update this review if they get their act together     Cannot load route files

All other features are good but it does not show the speed limit Im rating only 3 star because of speed limits The road view was excellent           Dont show the gps and it doesnt work properly in ipad

Bought this package because my garvin GPS wouldnt Sort my multi destination trips by shortest route so I presort the list using copilot Only had it two days but so far so good Cant get the navigation to work in my vehicle but I dont have the 3G plan for the ipad at this time Great deal for the price              Rogeridaho

Its the only offline maps I trust While visiting Toronto its great to not need the data roaming which would be very expensive Google and Apple maps require me to use data              No data plan needed

THIS APP IS NOT STABLE AND DOES NOT WORK DO NOT BUY I DOWNLOADED IT AND AFTER I SPENT 2 HOURS DOWNLOADING THE MAPS ENTRY MY INFO AND PERSONALIZING IT WITH MY SETTINGS IT CONTINUOUSLY BEGAN TO CRASH I HAVE THE 64 GB IPHONE 5S AND IS UP TO DATE RUNNING IOS 704 IVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS APP SINCE IT CAME OUT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I HONESTLY DONT THINK IVE EVER BEEN ABLE TO USE IT EVEN ONE TIME TO NAVIGATE FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER IN THE LAST TWO YEARS THAT IVE OWNED IT EVERY TIME A NEW UPDATE COMES OUT I GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE TO SEE IF IT WILL WORK BUT EVERY TIME I TRY TO USE IT THERES ALWAYS ONE THING OR ANOTHER WRONG WITH IT THAT CAUSES IT NOT TO WORK AND I ALWAYS END UP DELETING IT MY ADVICE IS DO NOT BUY IT BECAUSE IT IS JUST WAY TOO EXPENSIVE TO NOT WORK EVEN SOME OF THE TIME AND HONESTLY IN MY CASE IT HASNT WORKED 100 OF THE TIME MAYBE TWO YEARS FROM NOW ILL ACTUALLY GET TO USE THE APP I PAID FOR OVER TWO YEARS AGO     DONT BUY APP CRASHES UNTIL DELETED DONT BUY

First Ill say that their customer service did respond promptly which seems to be a rare thing these days However the descriptions of their multiple app versions are no good What does HD get you How about Premium How do these differ from the basic GPS app I loaded the basic app then bought the voice service Then I figured I would give the HD Premium version a try Cost me 20 because it included voice and a year of traffic most other apps give you free travel I asked if they would credit me another year of travel to cover my basic app purchase voice No luck Their map doesnt have my home streets on it the others do The only advantage I see right now is the offline map option Otherwise it isnt worth the money and lack of customer service        Bad customer service confusing apps

Were now home from our 12 day trip out west and to Canada and I wasnt able to use this app at all because it wouldnt allow me to download the maps I wanted Even when I was connected to wifi it would reject my request to download anything saying that I wasnt connected to wifi At that point there were no options available to back up a screen to try again This was a total waste of my money     NOT user friendly
