I got this app for the map elevation to calibrate my Garmins altimeter starting elevation Gps in general is great for your coordinates not so great for elevation Unless youre in a skyscraper or a plane the gps value in this app is of limited usefulness This is true of any nonpressure based gps measurement It is unfair to criticize this app for that shortcoming of gps Great little app

Recently in Colorado and App output remained consistent with area postings from 5k to 9600 When hiking over 11000 the elevation values for gps and map moved towards a single value typically after 2030 sec The values seemed to change appropriate with our continued climbing Great App Worked as expected
I see a lot of concerns about GPS elevation Its not the app GPS is very accurate laterally X Y but very weak vertically Z If it was possible to receive a GPS signal from below then it would be great vertically too but not possible It takes at least three dispersed location sats circling your point to get an accurate reading basic triangulation Easy for lateral measurement impossible for vertical Im amazed it does as good as you say Why GPS elevation varies

Just downloaded the app and like others only saw black screen when opening the app The black screen lasts about 3 seconds and then the shuts down What is the issue Does not work
So far so good It just gave me an accurate elevation reading Very simple and easy to use No idea if it will work off the beaten path but I believe it uses map data so as long as it can locate your position it should work It works

This app will give you altitude for current location only No way to get altitude for another location Misleading

Cool app for those of us who need 2 kno elevation 4 medical reasons Precise
I always liked this app and used it often to check my current elevation The ads always annoyed me but there was no way to get rid if them This update allows you to pay 99 to be ad free I gladly paid that to support the developer and be rid of ads If you dont mind the ads you can continue using as is Thats a nice option to have Nice update No ads
Standing in my front yard and the phone is about four feet off the ground MAP is pretty constant around 105 But GPS varies from 75 to 125 Wide open sky so GPS should have a signal Each time I open it the GPS is different The two should be about the same Something not right

This app is doing a great job even while driving I think the poster in the office building is simply confused about what the app is measuring Whether you were on the 52nd floor or the 100th floor the elevation of the earth below you doesnt change If the building is on land at 25 feet above sea level thats what the Apple tell you Does what it says

Im a civil engineer and land surveyor For drainage and flood studies I use this app for basic estimates of elevation and slope across a site Elevations are not precise but good enough for simple preliminary evaluations I like it
After trying several apps I found this to be the best The map validates your location It is sensitive and the measurement is in constant motion if you are but never a variance that is critical Great for a free app and tested accurate in my mountainous trip west Functional
Gave me my elevation super fast and it showed me where I was on the map too If that isnt cool you also have 3 different map viewing options along with your choice of viewing your current elevation in meters or feet Pure epicness on a silver platter Awesometastic App
When Im at fixed location the elevation keeps changing pretty significantly Cant figure out why I sent email to creator but no reply Ill continue to try it but if this persists Ill can it Changing numbers

This is a pretty cool app I ride my skateboard to and from work and school So this is a helpful app to know which are the best downhill routes But I wish I didnt have to physically BE at a certain place to know its elevation I wish that like in google maps I could drop a pin and see the elevation at that point A history would be nice Also bookmarks please Needs drop pin
