Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe`s The Fall of the House of Usher HD - A Detective Mystery Game

After all those hrs of play everybody dies That just stinks           Spoiler alert

So far I am enjoying this game Great grapgics No problems with the game                 Very enjoyable

So this game is probably one of the better one for graphics theme and puzzles mixed with HOSs and the length of time it took to complete I still did it in a day but at least I wasnt done in less than an hour However you get to the end and it says youve unlocked the bonus chapter but the bonus chapter is NOWHERE to be found on the menu once you beat the game Also when you complete the game you dont get all the achievements you have earned You beat the game and become a hero but the hero award doesnt show up in the achievements section This game needs some major glitch fixes before I give it a higher rating or before I purchase any more games from Big Fish Games Its become standard expectation for Big Fish Games to have the following issues glitches to not start scene freezes puzzles not working completely errors items not complete or working etc Its become tiresome and currently I wish theyd up their game pun intended Get your stuff together Big Fish Your cost of the games isnt worth the headaches or failure for your company to follow through and fix all the known errors Game was 699 and right now I wish I could get a refund and get something else with my money and not from Big Fish Games due to their continual lack of meeting customer expectations           The doesnt allow access to bonus chapter when you complete it

I dont typically like to review things before I complete them but I wanted to save some of my fellow players the frustration of going back and forth When the map is open place your finger on the little magnifying glass in the upper left Without lifting your finger drag it to the desired teleport location You should notice that the area will become highlighted Then release your finger You either will teleport or another more detailed map will open where you can select a specific room Hope that helps and happy playing              The teleporting map does work

Over the past few years Ive bought almost 100 Big Fish Hidden Object games I stopped about a year ago because the quality of the new releases werent worth the Unlock price However I jumped on this game because I enjoyed the first Edgar Allen Poeinspired app This one started out good but I needed to use the handy Strategy Guide Next thing I know Im being directed OUTSIDE the app to the Big Fish website The Guide is there but hard to see because the screenshots are so small on the iPad But the real problem arose when I tried to return to the game Instead of going back to the scene where I needed help from the Guide the app has to be totally relaunched starting from the very beginning including the opening cut scene Not only is this disruptive but some times the app freezes causing the player to abandon the progress made and start a whole new game Why cant the Strategy a Guides go back to being an inapp bonus REFUND        OFF SITE STRATEGY GUIDE IS A BIG PROBLEM

Its got everything the other games do in the series but for some reason it didnt do a whole lot for me I had no technical issues and the graphics were good the storyline decent the HOS were good and the minigames were ok There was sort of extra items to look for throughout the game but since they were large dollhouses it wasnt a challenge to find them at all The main game and the bonus chapter were both pretty long but one super frustrating point was all the back and forth traveling with no map to transport you quickly I think these companies need to find some new blood with fresh ideas because all of the HOAG are the same these days and its getting really boring I give the game 25 This game is one of the best of the series The storyline graphics and voice overs are all excellent The length of the game was amazing there was the long main game a long bonus chapter and then a long alternate ending chapter There were multiple types of HOS the list of items with some needing an extra step and some with shapes as well There were very unique minigames that were also very challenging Then there was two types of extra items to find throughout the game which I love There was also a great hint and skip system if needed and a integrated map that can be used for quick travel Overall this was a definite 5 plus game Thanks Big Fish and PLEEEAAASE keep the top tier games coming to the App Store Now on to the Dream TeamI absolutely agree with everyone regarding this being a place for reviews and not a forum to shout out to friends give health updates or anything else other than to review games Im sure theres got to be an appropriate place that you all can blog to each other and keep in contact but this is not it Its great you have a nice group of friends who have the same interests such as these games but it is not fair to the many many many other people who come here to look for real input and reviews on the games and nothing else One recent review had no review at all and was only a msg about a hospital stay and a visiting relative really The msgs have been getting longer and reviews shorter and then to no review at all Im sure you guys have telephones or email and can contact your friends other ways instead of wasting everyone elses time here making us read these personal notes of yours instead of a real review Then to accuse someone who dares to tell the delusions of grandeur team how it is of growing up around rats and not knowing what its like to have real supportive friendships is just wrong on every level I dont believe any one of us with this opinion mean to hurt anyones feelings these are just the facts of what this forum is for game reviews           Not So Bad But Not So Great Either PsDream Team

This was a great game It was very well thought out and never bored me I felt heroic at the end of the game for having defeated the evil that was eating the people I am ready for another It took me a week to finish this game I played for a few hours at a time                 Wonderfull

After buying the game and spending several hours playing it stopped working The hints keep saying to go somewhere else The map does not show any objectives or places that have been solved It it just making me run around with no end game Whats going on     It is not working

If their had been an interactive map Otherwise great game The rat was rather useless              Would have given 5 stars

This dark tales series is by far one of the best games Ive played I love the wild goose chase aspect of it its got tons of variety and challenge and a bit of eeriness I dont really know why theres a rat hanging around but I dont care                 Love it

I reset my progress because the game seem to get stuck on to be told I had to purchase again to unlock to keep playing DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY     Forced 2 purchase twice

I was enjoying this game very much until I got in to Estelles room and the center wheel on the cabinet door will not turn no matter what I do I even started the game over and the same thing happened I am really getting tired of these problems trying to get your money back is a Pain           Fall of the House of Usher

Not a bad game allinall Once again though I could do without the occult stuff and the pentagramsthey are as disturbing to me as the rats are to Lynx Minx I usually read the reviews prior to purchasing a game so I feel I have help from my friends to make my decision to buy or not Although I think that I must be the only one that the occult stuff bothers since I have not seen anyone else comment on it Oh well personal preference Back to the gameit seems like a long onebonus chapter too I thought the rat was kind of gross too but the trained mouse was cute IMO Lots of jumping aroundI didnt even use the map after reading about others frustration with it I used the hint button a lot and especially in the bonus chapter where it wasnt made clear what to do next The voiceover for used for Dupin really didnt match his characterseemed more like someone you would talk to in your neighborhood deli The game ran smoothly for me no glitches and the artwork was fine I will rate this one a three only because I dont like references to witchcraft and the occult Happy Thanksgiving and game on           EAP Fall of the House of Usher

I liked this game til the bonus Couldnt figure out how to get things done I was ready to throw my iPad through the wall Very frustrating        Good til the bonus

This game was a ton of fun to play There were a lot of different puzzles and and the storyline well it was Poe so you cant go wrong with that My only beef was that the Map was useless and that made it difficult to navigate              Great Game

Would have been a 5 star game except there is no teleporting map the map is useless The down pointing directional arrow is too close to the inventory and difficult to select at times Many excellent puzzles and games Quickly recharging Hint and Skip buttons           Flawed but Exciting and WellExecuted

I enjoyed the game compared to other games from Big Fish There were a bunch of puzzles to play and the story line was good The story kept me thinking about how to solve the riddles I would like to have a better connection with game progress and the reason to spend money There were no hints to purchase lab equipment nor did the purchases relate to the progress of the game At the end of the game I could play a bonus game but couldnt find it Hope the sequel is just as good and with better connections to the different parts of the game              Usher

Big Fish needs to go back to the inapp strategy guide Leaving the game and then having to restart the game again is quite irritating Ive bought at least 100 HOpuzzle games from BF over the years and this game is only mediocre way too easy puzzles and HO scenes a map that is not user friendly and mispronounced French names names        Its only OK

Give player some chance of knowing what to do Well designed games do not require constant guidance from hints There is some way of figuring out some next step        Usher

Played through the game twice and still can not get bonus game that I paid for Glad I did not pay full price but still a lost at 499     Cant unlock bonus game

Great game free version great to take time away if you are bored hope to get full version soon              Fun game

I especially enjoyed the variety of HO and minigames Beautiful artwork Map works well and the story was easy to follow My favorite of the series                 Excellent

I have all the other Poe games and this one was the best Only four stars though map didnt teleport and I thought it odd that the characters didnt have accents Cant wait for the next one              Entertaining

I just finished The Fall of the House of Usher full game plus the bonus game I am very pleased that this game in the series was more like the first 2 Murder in the Rue Morgue and Black Cat It played a bit longer than the last couple releases The Gold Bug and Mask of the Red Death and was more fun all around Thanks for bringing back the Poe HO games I love and miss              Pretty Good in the Poe Series

I just finished the bonus round on my iPad mini and it performed great It was the exact amount of easiness mixed with difficulty Lots of HOP which I enjoy Loved it                 Great

If I were one for giving spoilers I would have a lot of very interesting comments about the ending of this game regular not bonus Its worth the 499 just to see the ridiculousness of the antagonist On to my serious review The Fall of the House of Usher is my second favorite Poe story next to The Masque of the Red Death Its certainly not a happyending tale It also has a bizarre lingering dreamlike quality to it It blurs the lines between realityand something else In this respect the game did a fantastic job mimicking the convoluted and almost nightmarish style of the story You never know exactly what is going on Things happen that make no sense and yet the story continues Also there is a functional interactive map Its just tricky as to how to get it to work              A dream or a nightmare

I truly love these games First I dig Poes writings and so the storyline to these games are always very intriguing to me I do notice improvements in each new game which is appreciated I have purchased every single one on Big Fish and am constantly looking out for new Edgar Allen Poe games Im never disappointed Thanks Big Fish Pls keep them coming ps The music is hauntingly beautiful                 Constantly checking out for new Edgar Allen Poe Games

I always laugh at the players who comment on rats or mice in games This one has a cute rat that sits next to your journal for what reasonI have no idea But hes adorable none the less and he enjoys sunflower seeds This great installment of the series was really enjoyable to play I cant wait for the next one                 Best in the serieslove the rat

I have just started this game but I have downloaded the games in this series and really love them Love the graphics sound effects and really appreciate the hint button recharging as fast as it does                 Great game

Im at a point where I cant go forward and the guide offers no help Im suppose to have objects in inventory dont have and can not find where to go to pick these up Im about at the endvery frustrating     Stuck
