While not a comprehensive encyclopedia the app gives a brief description of all the Messier objects and a few caldwells NGCs etc I really like it Useful in the dark while star gazing with my 8 inch dob Unfortunately the wiki links aren t working which would have allowed me to rate it a 5 Great potential I look forward to upgrades                 Quick reference feisteguy
It does what it says no complaints there but it can be greatly improved Addition of a night mode and the ability to enter user notes Notes Log could include info such as check list for users who are completing a Messier Cert That would be nice             It s Good ResQU
A handy quick and very useful tool for less experienced amateurs such as myself An addition of a night mode would make it a handy companion at the telescope too Paul O Donnell Williamstown NJ                 Useful wb2oyc
Shows you messier objects that are visible with binoculars or to the naked eye Perfect app for those who are interested in purchasing a telescope If you know your way around the night sky already this app will probably be almost useless to you I say almost because it does tell you the distance and magnitude of various messier objects Other than that I don t find much use for it             Good for beginners Not very useful for amateur astronomers Martinez_J
The database is pretty good for Messier objects really the best I ve seen but severly lacking for NGC objects thus the so so rating I love the simplicity of having the photo mag distance info on the same page for the Messier objects The link to wikipedia is a nice touch The info for the NGC objects is pretty useless No photo and the description is severely lacking             Mixed feelings YouAreGoForTLI
