The function claims that it can be hided while running like in background But still in dock and take a valuable spot from my dock         Still in DOCK while running jj201608

Has worked fine for the last couple years but recent upgrade to a 2015 iMac has left some of the readings incorrect and no longer reports the CPU temperature             Needs an update Gorbag

A nice program but it could be much more The ability to add remove sensor displays would be great I for one am running this on a new MacBook and the first line in the display is fan speed There is no fan in this laptop and no way to disable the fan speed display within the app sigh             More options please Super☆Dave

What a waste     No CPU temp svenoaks

After I download DeskTopMonitor was working great Tonight my laptop was running awake for few hour using Caffeine apps Later DeskTopMonitor disappear not showing on my desktop It happen few times before after I reboot This time never seen it on desktop I m running 2011 Macbook Pro Hey Buick Wong I love your app When will it update to fix this problem Okay back again still waiting for update he never fixed this problems after all this time I paid him Was given two stars now down to one star Also what up with Apple team Don t they ever review it I don t recommend this app with all the trouble     Disappear Alpinejwh

Just bought this for my MBA 2013 The app is nice but the info shown is not customizable Besides it does not show CPU temperature at all It does show temperature for MBA 2013 for the following items Airport Card Enclosure Base Base 2 and Base3 Heatsink B Mem Bank A1 Mem controller In contrast for my older MBA mid 2011 it shows CPU all three Enclosure Bases Heatsink B Mem Bank A1 Mem Controller Unfortunately I could not see the support level for different HW models before purchasing To be fair the app is useful and displays other good info about the Fan speed and Memory usage             No CPU Temp for 2013 MBA elomage

While I tend to love the author s approach of putting information right on the desktop in a windowless fashion I didn t like NOT being able to decide what to monitor Within hours of buying this I ended up purchasing one that costs more than twice as much making this a true case of false economy although I will bet the author continues to enhance this product proving at least sometimes more is less and vice versa             Didn t like the All or Nothing approach to HW monitoring FlyGuyTy1914

Well all in all pretty good idea and performs well under 24 7 for the last 6 months on my older iMac However today after installing on my brand new iMac it has some issues The first one is that the Ambient temperature reads 7 degrees C all the time It simply is incorrect and just don t seem to update The second thing and there might be more The CPU temperature is not displayed Now I know Apple is good but I m sure they included a CPU sensor Might be other temp sensors missing and maybe even a fan or two But all in all I am very pleased with the application Keep up the good work and squash a few more bugs undocumented features and this will get another review             Has some issues across iMac Max 991

Great app very useful and fun to have on your desktop I would recommend this app to whomever wishes to be able to monitor their Mac s vital statistics The only thing that I would recommend to the developer would be to remove the icon from the dock                 Good App Could Use Improvements Srk1221

I like this app a lot and the price was right so I don t want to complain about it at all If I had to make a suggestion however I would like just a few more customization options a a couple previous reviewers have mentioned Adding removing sensors would be sweet Also the ability to move the fields into a different order would be nice Overall however the display is fairly customizable it just takes some playing around I ll come back and add a star if when this app is updated with one or more of these suggestions                 Pretty good could use some additional options readyforamess

Disappointed that this update doesn t include temperature read outs for the GPU On my Mac Pro 2010 I m also still not seeing a temperature read out for HDD 1 even though I have all 4 drive bays populated Finally I am seeing a temperature reading for all 4 memory DIMM slots even though I only have the first 3 slots populated I had previously contacted the developer to request these additions Beyond that it gives the majority of temperature and fan speed readings             Has Potential awsmith

Desktop monitor has no icon so launch it from the app folder icon won t go away use growl to be notified if your cpu temp goes above xx threshhold set to 95 monitor and alternate tools show 75 notification fires off doesn t respect placement overall it s handy info but very unrefined dev needs to step it up big time for now skip it geektool takes more work but is more powerful and free         could be good but buggy h00ligan

Well worth the price lets you see important system information in real time and lets you control how it looks I didn t see an option for it but it would be nice to be able to add remove unwanted sensors and also a button to hide show DesktopMonitor Excellent app                     Great system monitoring app TheRune

I thought that my MBA was running a little hotter than it should but I wasn t sure just be feeling around the outside of the case I looked around and found this app It looked like it fit my needs so I bought it It does pretty much just what shows in the pictures but it does it well and I haven t had any problems with crashes yet I reccomend it if you need to keep an eye on your computer s status                 The best Lex Luther

Didn t work properly at first after a system update things seem to function as advertised Haven t tried it successfully with my new graphics card yet but hopefully upon reinstallation of the card things will be fine Could have more options though such as font better system placement more options of what shows and doesn t show etc                 Seems to work Isaac1)6543

It s not that much different from the older version but it did fix the problem of having the last few items cut off I don t know what some of the stuff is but it s just interesting to watch becasue I have always wondered how hot my computer got One time my computer went up to 185 F It s only 1 99 its pretty worth it                     Just for fun ...'

I am very surprised by the negative reviews For the reviewer that says the readout is barely readable over desktop background there is an option in the app preferences that allows you to change the color and appearance of the readout this makes it very readable on any backgound For the reviewer that says CPU usage is showing in 25 increments he she should contact the developer Maybe the revewer could post what model computer they are using I have a MacPro desktop and it shows my usage correctly As for the user that says this app uses a gigabyte of memory this app is uses 12 1 MB on my computer which I would consider normal From what I can tell the above issues are probably related to specific hardware and reviewers need to make the developer aware of these issues so they can be corrected I am very happy with desktop monitor and highly recommend it                     Very Nice implementation Jace Nicklien

If you want to check if your CPU is over heating or how fast your computer s fan is turning this application does what it claims However it uses too many resources itself nearly a GB of memory and the display is nothing like what you might expect No it s not the little speedometer pictured nor the preference panel shown in the ad just a badly fonted print display barely readable over your desktop background Unless and until they improve the display I recommend saving your money         Nice idea Bad execution Camera_1

Makes my laptop processor work harder i7 2 8 I looked at system monitor and my cpu fluctuates from 20 75 when I have no other apps running except Desktop Monitor I like the useful readouts measurements were accurate and I compared them with other monitoring apps but it makes my battery last from 6hrs to 2hrs I stopped desktop monitor for the meantime until this issue is fixed Any further fixes would be definitely be appreciated             Consumes more battery MikeL10is

The CPU monitor gives completely bogus readings on my computer always in increments of exactly 25 E G User 0 System 50 Idle 50 etc Comparing to top o cpu the values displayed by DesktopMonitor are obviously way off Maybe it s doing some heavy rounding but rounding to the nearest 25 if that s what it s doing can hardly be expected to give a precise reading Since the entire purpose of this app is to monitor such stats doing so innaccurately makes it next to worthless in my estimation     Innaccurate Readings Le Bateleur

Display the temperature on desktop is easily than widget Ability to config text and background color this applis all kinds of my wallpapers when the preferences windows active I can change the frame size and can eaily drag it anywhere I wanted This is a great geek tool it make me start thinking is the time to give up other software just give it 4 stars because it is lack of alarm function I would like to inform me when the temperature grows too high It is a pity this software can not be set hide the icon in dock when is was running so I need to modify the plist file manually                 great geek tool nelson zhu
