It doesn t make sense to me that if a disk is not active it shows a full red bar It should be black look off when there is no disk activity It is counter intuitive to try to decode which color is which Also would like a setting for 2 states on or off instead of 4 If these were changed or at least I had the option to enable that I would give it 5 stars             Almost good but the colors drive me crazy iScott3000

This little program does the one thing that I missed when moving from the PC world to the MAC world Every PC I had ever used had and LED letting you know when the Hard Drive was being accessed For a good number of reasons this can be helpfull as and example in the case of my old Laptop before my MACBook I figured out that I had gotten one of the evil mail malwares that was sending emails to everyone in I had in Outlook Also it allows you to know that when you start a program that is taking a while to start up that in fact it is doing something I use a lot of Adobe programs and sometimes after their updates it can take a with for the Adobe program to start and run Now with this GREAT little program I don t have to totally wonder if something is going on As my Title to this states What Apple Should Have Done Very basic and to me important                     What Apple Should Have Done TJT Mac Convert

It s not the same as having a disk LED but that doesn t matter much I use this on older Macs to see when the disk is used and how much it s being used It has helped me keep squeezing little bits of performacne our of my older Macs and for that I m thankful                     Very helpful app Krescendo

The update is annoying When I click the update option the process could not continue because the software could not be stopped for the moment So the update could not continue But at the same time the software could not work as well I had to force quit the software and set to avoid opening the software when logging in in the system properties and restart the computer Anyway I think this is a fairly well established software It compensates the lack of hard drive indicator on the Macs Wish it could go well in future                     Useful but with flaws BigGates

It s the same functionality as the disk activity indicator in Windows it s a dummy light that lets you know that the disk is doing something It will not give you any details pertaining to overall loading or throughput which it fine with me It does it s job and performs as advertised with no issues                     Works fine no issues CodeToade

As this hasn t been updated since 2011 I need to point out that when I log out or restart I get the message that Disk LED cancelled that operation and a dialog box I cannot dismiss I am using the utility with OSX 10 8 4 on a Mac Mini 2013 The operation still takes place successfully but that dialog is intrusive and obviously indicates some error in the coding Other than that gripe I haven t had any problems with the utility and it does what it is meant to do And I like knowing that something is happening with my various drives when it appears nothing is happening                 Needs some Updating ptogren

This application has a simple purpose It displays the state of the disk subsystem in real time with a ittle pulse stretching That in and of itself is not an earthshaking big deal What is refreshing and of note is that during my ownership of this program it was easy to install it takes care of itself with no ongoing maintenance required and I never have to worry about it To function correctly and to not cause any trouble That is pretty much what there is to say about this application from the user side But like all apps it took quite a lot of learning to write this application And I don t think the author gets enough glory for the effort to write a trouble free application for Mac OS X I recommend this application                     Just right no more and no less douglas_goodall

This app really saves me a lot of confusion as I copy huge folders with lots of files at once I can tell if the copy is proceeding or has gotten stuck which allows me to respond quickly and saves me a lot of time                     Disk LED artscapes59

I got this app when it was offered for free so I can t complain It works as it s supposed to and has never caused any problems for me My only issue with it and the reason I usually don t use it is that I already have so many goodies up in my menubar that this little light is not visible most of the time I think it was great when offered free but I don t believe I d pay for it unless there was a way to put the light somewhere where I could see it more often                 Nice little app mookzmom
