The Problem: Managing windows can be frustrating, requiring precision control of your mouse or trackpad for clicking, dragging, pushing and pulling your windows to the size and position you desire. Even with all this work, it ...
If you use unix window managers or use your Mac for professional work this automation tool is crucial to speed organize automate moving windows in and out as your tasks change from hour to hour Being able to quickly throw up 3 or 5 windows in a set pattern really helps me customize what information I need to synthesize or work on complex tasks and that s the whole point of a computer these days I understand Apple s decision to make side by side split view to cover most people s needs but this tool is incredibly useful once you grow past needing two window side by side                     Critical tool for people that need more than Apple s split screen view Mike Bradshaw (bmike)
I don t know what is going on with the new version of the app but it will not open I am running High Sierra Version 10 13 2 on a MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch Mid 2014 This app has become such an automatic part of my everyday computer usage that I keep trying to use my shortcuts without event thinking about it Please correct the app crashing soon             Loved the app for 3 years new version won t open good story, but repetitive
And its great its way better then any simular tool must have for a owner of large screen monitor                     I used this tool for a long long time __gopher__
Been using for years Never had so much as a glitch New OS updates no problem new displays no problem multiple displays no problem Thanks                     Great Software jonny_bouta
I ve used Divvy for a few years now It s very simple and very effective I have just a few global shortcuts defined on my laptop keyboard left half of the screen Command right half of the screen Command and full screen Command Return 95 of the time this is all I need and I don t have to move around windows or resize them with the mouse There are times when I miss the wonderful much more powerful tiling window managers on Linux I used to use but ultimately I prefer something like Divvy for its simplicity                     One of the few essential apps I use mjhoy
I have been usingt he LG software for many months both on my Mac Mini and my PC at work On my PC it kept asking for update but never let me install it Finally it stopped working DIvvy on the contrary is working smoothly on my Mac and is more flexible Great software Next week I ll try it on my PC                     works better than the LG software Rock_Wood
Easy to use and works great Also you can customize shortcuts to resize and position windows where ever you want                     Organize your desktop Amuratovic
I migrated from Windows to Mac a year ago Divvy was one of the first apps I installed because it replicates Windows intuitive window management system in macOS Ever since then it s worked great until I transfered over to the new 2016 Macbook Pro I had already installed macOS Sierra on my old Macbook and Divvy still worked fine Now Divvy crashes when my computer comes back from sleep A simple re run of the app will bring it back up but I often forget about this issue and wonder why the hotkeys aren t working It s a good app but it desperately needs to be updated             Works great except on the new 2016 Macbook Pro DreadGazebo
Keeps crashing on my MacBook pro I report it everytime and and the issue still hasn t been fixed I expect much better support for a 14 tool     Crashing constantly Inksaint
I ve used this for a few years but after purchasing a new MacBook Pro this software crashes constantly Its now been a couple months with Divvy crashing and the problem still has not been fixed The application is useless it will not stay running Either the developers don t know how to fix it or have abandoned the product I m uninstalling and looking for a different alternative     Do not recommend for 2016 Macbook Pro Floidt
The short cut keys are not responding Plz fix bugs     2016 new MacBook Pro Sierra yonseicha
The release of Sierra makes it load twice in the toolbar where one of the instances glitches to a white box every now and then Further should blur the background of the black box to match rest of the UI of macOS to make it more seamless Could also use configuration for multiple displays Otherwise this program is wonderful and I use it several times a day                 Needs some updating but pretty good Aryadee
I purchased this app earlier this year and have found it to be a useful tool for managing windows With the recent release of Sierra it appears that it is now loading twice for whatever reason in the toolbar                 Needs to be updated for Sierra LeftoverSalmon
Pros Keyboard shortcut options Minimal resource consumption light weight Cons Lack of configuration of focus Imagine the following scenario you have two displays You have one window selected on display 1 but your mouse is on display 2 Execute a divvy commany on the focused window on display 1 The result is that your window jumps to display 2 It would be nice if the app provided an option of which focus takes priority currently selected window or mouse location Alfred currently provides this configuration Well worth the money I would be willing to pay for an update to support continued development                 Great keyboard support Some quirks Yolanda Hodoor
I ve been using this for longer than I can remember It s one of the essentials for my day to day workflow                     Extremely helpful when managing desktop space Kung Pao Tigger
I cannot live without this simple tool Apple should just buy them and follow their lead                     Works Brilliantly ReBoooot
Even though I have 2 rows and 2 columns selected this program displays 4 rows and 4 columns This wasn t always the case When it was working correctly I gave the program 5 stars     Bug Incorrect number of rows and columns Owen T Brown
Still can t use Divvy even after the latest fix though it may be an Apple bug System Preferences Security Privacy Accessibility refuses to remember that I enabled Divvy I unlock the preferences added Divvy made sure the box next to Divvy is checked lock the box When I try to launch Divvy it tells me I need to enable Divvy in Accessibility When I go back to Accessibility Divvy is unchecked     The new update is still broken neandrothal
I have been using this app for over 5 years and use it on both Windows and OS X devices Once it becomes a part of your workflow to quickly switch resize and work with Divvy to manage your screens you will be lost without it As was I on November 10th I am very happy to see this issue has been resolved with the 1 4 2 version release Back to the races                     You need this application devonx
Clicking the green plus sign on an app delivers unpredictable results Maybe now the app is half screen maybe it s full screen Different apps behave differently and if you want to move them around you have to click and drag click and drag Infomercial voice There s GOTTA be a better way Divvy sets up a user defined grid that allows you to move things around with ease But wait there s more With keyboard shortcuts you can define grid settings and move things with a keystroke I use t top half b bottom half a full screen 1 top left corner 2 top right corner as well as others So when I launch an collection of apps like a browser a text editor and a terminal I can see everything easily When I use Logic I can move my mixer around depending on what I m working on It works great with multiple monitors as well I use Divvy LITERALLY hundreds of times a day and it is absolutely mission critical to the way I work I HIGHLY recommend this app to anybody who has lots of screen real estate runs multiple programs at once or is just very particular about how things are laid out It will save you a ton of time                     Absolutely mission critical A tool so useful I forget it s not part of OSX Matt the Tech
Divvy was one the first apps I ever downloaded from the app store back in 2011 Thank you for fixing bug I was freaking out a bit because its capabilities to shortcut precise customized screen placement is not matched by any other window management app on the store I have actually tested a few out for a fee and come back to Divvy everytime I m not sure were my productivity level would be without this invaluable tool                     The Best Windows Manager on App store SolarJ
I ve been using Divvy for years It does exactly what I need it to do which is allow me to create global shortcuts to quickly arrange windows Sounds simple but it s a fundamental part of how I work The grid layout is intuitive and when I bought a laptop with a smaller screen I was happy to find that you can add rows columns giving you fine grained control of window sizes I was devastated when an update to OS X took the app out of commission but the devs released a fix in less than two days What more could you ask for                     Perfect window manager for my needs some_nickname_12345
Maximize windows with a keystroke a real maximize not the new full screen thing I set up Cmd NumPad Key to put things where I want them Cmd 7 puts a window into the upper left quadrant of the screen Cmd 9 does upper right quadrant Cmd 8 Fills the top half of the screen Cmd 4 uses the left half of the screen and so on I mapped Cmd 5 to maximize the window to the full screen This utility has raised my productivity 5 stars                     Perfect DanaValerie
I m not someone that uses keyboard shortcuts too often but they always sound good to me So I bought Divvy and it sat there for a while As a developer I often have many windows up on the screen either expanded to full screen or split between them With Yosemite I hate the new expand button and was constantly fighting to find the right positions etc for the various windows I commonly have up Then I remembered I bought Divvy A little while later and now I have a few simple keystrokes to put the windows exactly where I want them It s so much easier than trying to drag these stupid things around I m just embarrassed that it took me this long                     Took a while but I love it RTrueman
Divvy doesn t provide any option to drag a window to the edge of the screen to snap it to one side             Missing Snap to Borders functionality Burbach34
Divvy gives you the ability to create global keyboard shortcuts for pre set window sizes It s a must for making the most of your retina display and it s a steal at 2                     Solves window management in OS X Justin Lamorte
Unfortunately this application doesn t work on my 2011 MacBook Air running the latest version of Yosemite with plenty of solid state memory And yes I read the 18 page pdf manual Restarting doesn t work the two arrows never appear in the menu bar and the Accessibility Preference doesn t work with Security Privacy I could really use an app that would do what this one claims to do At least I m glad that this one wasn t very expensive     Doesn t Work klavman
This review is long over due just bought a macbook pro and this is the first application I am installing if that tells you anything Thanks for a great and simple tool                     overdue RJ Johns
Finally I can orgonize windows as I wish especially with hot keys Thank you                     Very useful application satanTime
Nice app for single monitor use Multi monitor is almost there Shortcuts do not remember which screen they are associated with Because of this a window will either snap to it s position on the preferred monitor or any other monitor Repeatedly pressing the same shortcut key will cycle through the monitors until you find the correct one At first I thought it was malfunctioning until I realized that Divvy doesn t differentiate it s short cuts by monitor For example Snap Left Monitor 1 is exactly the same as Snap Left Monitor 2 It would be substantially better if the shortcuts were specific to the monitor where you set them You can disable cycling through monitors however this means that the window will snap to the position on its current monitor only which may not be where you are trying to go Otherwise this app works well If you don t use shortcuts with multiple monitors then you should find this to be a very good solution             Nice App Would be better if LexisLuther
I was hesitant to spend this much on a window management app However i m running 3 monitors and it has been a pain point Saying that all my problems solved Best money I have ever spent in the app store don t hesitate to purchase                     VERY Impressed Eoverline
I ve been using a similar app that just wasn t cutting it and it couldn t handle a lot of applications like apache open office I was pretty happy after downloading Divvy and seeing how much better it works If you re a cinch user and are thinking of converting definetly do so With the shortcuts and different sizes you can choose from this app is a winner                     Worth the money Ncdsangel05
I cherish Divvy Saves me time maximizes real estate increases productivity Worth every penny                     Essential App joemeade
I ve been using this for a few years and it works great and simple Better yet I just realized if you have DUAL monitors you can hit your short cut twice and it will auto switch to the other monitor very cool That is not very clear in their instructions but much needed So I use Cmd 1 and it goes full size if I hit Cmd 1 again it jumps to my next screen Perfect                     Love IT Schuster Family Account
Greatly increases productivity thanks so much                     Super Helpful Johny742
I have always loved this program but It doesn t work at all after updated I am using Mac OS Yosemite v10 10 Please fix this asap Thanks         Not working after updated MOQN
I love this program and updated my version this morning Unfortunately the current version of Divvy hangs and is unresponsive on 10 8 5 10 31 2014         Great but current version beachballs aryehg
I have been using your application for a few years now and I really just want to say thanks You always update and spend time and effort on the application even after you ve sold your product and there is no new financial incentive to support new operating systems I love the ability to completely grid my desktop applications and though I allow few apps to open on start up yours is one of them Keep up the great work                     Thank You SupaRistopher
This is one of my favorite applications Whenever I encounter a mac without it or an alternative I am lost Seriously what do people do I love it particularly for the global shortcuts I ve got CMD UP for full screen CMD LEFT CMD RIGHT for half screen etc Anyway I ve been using this for a few years now and I noticed the updated menu bar icon so I wanted to review it while I was thinking about it just to say thanks to the dev s for keeping this program up to date                     Essential TrentF
Verry well thought out UI Lots of functionality Easy to setup Good product                     Geat little tool Andres canella
