For those who said Bait and Switch and Bull you are an idiot Try the Dragon Dictation You dont need the extra software for Dictation Dragon Recorder app is for use with the software Its an added bonus if you have Dragon Naturally Speak Premium or Higher This app works great You can also get other free apps without needing the extra softward like Dragon Go which is similar to other search apps But for those with the software also try the Dragon Microphone for dictating into the software You dont need to connect anything to your computer its remote                 GREAT

Works great Wifi file transfer works on PC much better with Safari than with Internet Explorer Then you can use Dragon Naturally Speaking to transcribe the recording                 Dragon Recorder for IPhone

Would love to see integration with Dropbox and other file transfer apps The wifi transfer is a little clunky it seems              Great app for existing Dragon users

Have been using with dictation software But each time iOS updates more and more functionality is lost PLEASE UPDATE for iOS 8 soon Really poor support to see this app not being supported technologically with the new OS        PLEASE UPDATE

I used to like this app but now I cant move forward or backward in a recording which makes the app virtually useless Nuance should not promote this as it brings down their reputation and brand name     Awful these days

One more time Nuance got it wrong This and their no support for Mountain Lion on DD 252 makes it a big fat 0 company     Doesnt work with Dragon Dictate for Mac

Although I am a huge advocate of their desktop products and have used and currently use it would seem as though all of their mobile products specifically for iPhone have been left behind There are no updates there is no attention to moving progress forward I would simply request that there was a public statement in the apps to state that the Nuance organization is taking a new mobile direction and will no longer serve the existing applications that have remained static and stagnant     Left Behind

This app requires the professional version of Dragon which is 100 more I found a PDF via Google that mentions this however this was not clear reading the app description nor was it clear reading the information on Nuances website I have the Home edition and wasted two hours of my time trying to make this work     Unclear requirements

After the last IOS update the slider between start and end of playback has disappeared Please fix        What happened to the slider

I use dragon at the office On the iPad or iPhone use Dictamus It works great Just email the Dictamus file to your desktop open it in dragon and it will transcribe Works much better than this app     Better out there

Their description says the app is free and does dictation Then the app says you need to go the web site and use the manual to see how to dictate Its in the manual where you learn that dictation costs hundreds of dollars They should be upfront about the costs rather than play hide seek with it     Bait Switch

As others have complained you think you will be taken to a user manual when you click the link on the phone Instead you are taken to a sales pitch I have most of their Mac products including Dictate 3 for use with Lion and above The linked page states compatible with Dictate 3 but the requirements at the bottom of the sales pitch says otherwise This company has never been Macfriendly and the instructions on how to do just about anything are confusing and frequently linked to things that are not related to what the link implies Apparently THERE IS NO MANUAL FOR THIS PROGRAM no matter what the tour states Once you reach a set of links for product on the Mac instead of PDFs for future use there are a lot of video guides They try to hook you with Dictate andor Scribe a good example being the MacSpeech Dictate that was replaced with Dragon Dictate for the Mac for preLion which now requires Dragon Dictate 3 for Lion and above but in order to use this app you need MacSpeech Scribe in spite of the fact the preview states and now Dragon Dictate for Mac 3 to dictate Just be careful This Mac user started with the first 128k in April of 1984 and has been a beta tester for many programs over the years not new to this game PS Additional information Using an iPhone 5 set for WiFi attempting to connect to either MacMini or AirPort network I tried a number of browsers including Safari Nothing showed up anywhere By entering the suggested address for a nonBonjour browser in the address window I was able to see the list of dictation files The first controlclick on the link to the file opens a window of code By hitting the back key I returned to the list This time controlclick DID download the file to my designated download location This time I was using 1068 and used MacSpeech Scribe as listed as required on the linked web page Of course I had to start over with a new profile and teach that profile how to transcribe I dont think the Nuance people have any idea how to make product work on a Mac I tried a few files that I had dictated as Voice Memos on my iPod 4 and they converted more accurately than the two using this app        Most misleading company I have dealt with

The produce does a decent job of recording I dont like the fact that you dont seem to be able to insert dictation other that at the end When using Bonjour to transfer the audio file it automatically inserts and html extension You have to go into info after right clicking the file and delete the html extension It does a decent job of transcription but the correction function is grayed out If you use a microphone attached to the computer to edit the dictation you can correct the dictation from the recorder but it wont allow you to save changes to the user profile So it basically wont learn from any dictation done on the recorder           No Speech Correction

I found the voice files from this recorder to be accurate when transcribed by Dragon Medical              Pretty good for Dragon Medical

Many of the reviews here are completely incorrect so hopefully this will clear everything up Dragon recorder is used as an offline dictation app It is good because when youre not around your computer or not able to use your Dragon dictation you can record something on the go and then you can transfer it to your computer to be dictated later since youre not online The app is also very easy to use and is also very convenient for making voice memos which is pretty much the only reason I use it Its very convenient and if you have Dragon dictation software on your PC it gives you an added bonus since you can record things that will be dictated later Again the app is also very useful for making voice memos which is the only reason that I use it since it records better I hope that this review has cleared up all of your questions                 Great app last reviews are WRONG

To save the Iphone file to your PC you have to buy QuickTime for 30 Get you coming and going        QuickTime

I was hoping to be able to use this program with Dragon Dictation on my computer However it is completely inaccessible with voiceover A voiceover user cannot even figure out how to record with this program as it is     Completely in accessible with voiceover

When I saw the announcement of this app I was thrilled I own Dragon Dictate 25 for the Mac and thought this would be a perfect compliment to it Now I find out I have to purchase their MacSpeech transcription software for 150 more Beware     Doesnt work with Mac Dragon Dictate

There is absolutely nothing novel about this app Lacks features And not necessary to use Dragon 12 or 13s transcription feature All that is needed is a recording in a format that is acceptable to Dragon If anyone here knows why this app should be used any other then please do tell     Garage

I use this app to dictate notes at the hospital on my iPhone 4S and then upload them to my PC for transcription It works surprisingly well even with the background noise of the nursing stations Once you have your file transferred to your computer be sure to simply save it to your hard drive then open it directly with your dragon software You will have to tap your phone screen during the file transfer as it corrupts if the phone goes into sleep mode during the transfer You will have to increase the available file size on your computer of you end up with 45 min of dictation at the end of the day as I often do What I miss and really must be added is the ability to at least back up your recording and then record over an error youve just made Currently you can only back up and listen to your errornot helpful My dream would be to have both the ability to record over a mistake and the ability to insert at a point in the recording              Almost There

Recorded my voice clearly Saved it well on the iPhone and then transferred it effortlessly to my computer over WiFi where I have Dragon already installed and the conversion from voice to text was perfect It took me 30 seconds to set this up and use it Im going to be using this regularly now to collect notes while Im on the go Then Ill periodically transfer them and transcribe them onto my computer                 Works perfectly

Downloaded the app And bought the dragonet premium app that cost 199 What garbage I speak well and often in public setting up my voice recognition was arduous and highly inaccurate I wasted an entire day trying to get the program to work Dont waste your time or money If you are going to utter simple emails as the examples Nuance uses for the product then OK But if you have to dictate anything in sophisticated vocabulary the program is incapable of accuracy I am furious and exhausted at the end of the first day Its ready for the trash I could have typed what I needed faster What a waste     Horrible

very disappointing Just purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking but neither the recorder nor the remote microphone will even install on my iPhone No support was available to help you with this problem I had been looking forward to using these tools and am very disappointed in Nuances lack of support for them     Wont even install

I have used Dragon for PC for 5 years and now also for the Mac So I tried Dragon Recorder Here is my review note I work for Cisco Systems and have used Macs and PCs for as long as they have existed in short I am experienced Before I begin I use Dragon 115 for PC and Dragon Dictate 3 for Mac both work very well Dragon Recorder my first use Took about an hour to figure out I read all the documentation and followed it step by step Nevertheless each step was not obvious The endtoend process is tortuous and required further research It was really designed for a PC The instructions tell you how to do it either way until the end when the Mac instructions cease and you are on your own I could figure it out but good luck to a non technical person In the last stages there were surprise steps like transcription services no mention of this in the directions and really not clear what you a re supposed to do Again I guessed It took my text and began calibrating a process which took about 2 minutes for about 40 seconds of spoken text It turns out this is a onetime process and is analogous to voice training on the actual Dragon product for PC or Mac In short there are so many tricky steps in the process I will have to create a cheat sheet for future use I am sure with repeated use if I even find this worth doing I will get this down but you should not expect ease of use being an experience you will get An hour later OK so it does work it is just a arduous set of steps but now that I have discovered how it works it does work pretty well I did create a Cheat Sheet and here it is CHEAT SHEET For MaciPhone Start Dragon Recorder on iPhone Record the passage by clicking Record button When back to yourMac start Safari on the Mac On iPhone in DR turn WiFi Sharing On On Mac with Bonjour enabled in Safari find Bonjour and click in the iPhone selection You will all your recordings that are on the iPhone CTRL Click on the one you want select Download selected link as and select the file location Remove the html extension if there is one leaving it as a wav file At this point you have the actual voice recording on your Mac You can play it if you want with any program that understands wav On the Mac in Dragon Dictate select ToolsTranscription This will open a Dragon Pad window and you will see the text appear automatically as if you were actually dictating When done you can copy the text and paste it into the application of your choice Good luck you will need to get going Once you get the hang of it it does work well           You should not expect ease of use being an experience you will get

Still cant handle the larger screen of the iPhone 5 Cant be that hard to update        Years in still no iPhone 5 support

Ive been using this app for over 2 yrs and find recording quality to be outstanding Works great with Dragon transcribe feature Needs upgrade that allows saving to cloud like Dropbox and that allows editing files              Great app but needs upgrade

Works as advertised Only suggestion is to allow upload to DropBox to transfer the audio files so they ate there as ready to transcribe                 Works well

Dragon doesnt make it clear that the iphone audio files created on the iphone are incompatible with Dragon NS for PCs A converter must be found and used to get a file to be readable by Dragon Nuance never mentions the problem in any of their literature     Silly Little App

Im not sure why this app doesnt have the same functionality as the Dragon Medical app I paid 120 for this software and would love to be able to 1 Rewind and record over mistakes 2 Transmit over 3G 3 Organize my recordings ie Todo Journal Ideas etc I know that these arent all in the Medical app but I dont see why the ones that are arent also in this one Spread the wealth and youll get 5 stars from me        A bit disappointed
