I did change a few things I wrote previously so here it is again Duplicate detective does what it says it can do It works quickly is selective and driven by me If you don t trust what you see don t delete the file You can selection multiple files to delete in file folder or just one at time very tedious I can write more but the stars say it all 4926 5 stars from the last version against 188 do not like stars I read some of the do not likes It seems they might just need to read the help or possibly ask for help and don t delete without looking at the file if you are concerned                     I bought I used I liked It works Yor B

I always drop my MAC HD onto it whenever I want to find all duplicaates and boy does it do an excellent job When I first started it took forever and ever it seemed but the little emessages pop up and say be patient we are not finished yet we will tell you when we are done and yes it does This app has freed up so much space on my computer Now when I run it it maybe finds a a dozen duplicates all the time Once you use it to the full extent to find all your duplicares it will make sure your computer has no more in it when you run it the net time I give this app a 5 star because it has really freed up my computer and helped me find all the duplicaates inon my HD I love it use it regularly and would recommend it to anybody using a wonderful MAC                     EXCELLENT SEAERCH ENGINE zezee3

I have so many pictures all over my hard drive and external hard drive I wanted an app that would find the duplicates Yes it found duplicates but not all Once it scanned which it took forever by the way it would come up with some duplicates I could take the file name that it found and put it into my Finder window and found a ton more Too time consuming to delete them like that It will also tell me that there is one in my Photo app and when I go to search for it it s gone Or it will tell me there is one in the Photo app and one in a file folder So I thought I d delete the one that was showing in the folder saving the one in the Photo app Well it ended up deleting them both I did NOT have them both checked but it still deleted them both Anyway all that aside just make sure when you hit delete that you aren t deleting something you want to keep Going to look for another app                     Just OK Tazman_OH

I have been using Duplicate Detective for several years and absolutely love it Recently I discovered one can select several folders then drop them as a group into the app s window I wish I had realized that when I first started using this app The path name shows where the file is located for each set of duplicates which makes it easy to mark if there are distinctive names for folders I d give 5 stars to version 1 95 for its ease for deleting the duplicates in one step The current version 1 98 is not longer quick to delete thus I give the latest version 3 stars After trying it I reverted back to 1 95 which I will be careful not to update             Duplicate Detective sdengle

This is a very simple app to use in order to eliminate doubles and triples The only bug I found is that auto select on the left side and oldest on the right did not work for all the files I had to hit auto select and older one by one in photos I am not sure why this happened Previously I only had to tap auto selecto and oldest once and all files I chose worked                 Nice app but a little cumbersome Maths+
