The download mechanism is pathetic Downloads are slow on fast internet WiFi and if you switch to another app or your screen lockout times out the download stops and cannot resume This is amateur work guys     Needs work CinemaBass

I love the magazine and is a longtime subscriber This app makes it impossible to read I finally managed to download an issue which took several days of trying Now the app crashes ALL THE TIME even when the iPad into sleep mode or when you just switch to another app And the app DOES NOT REMEMBER YOUR PLACE So you have to open the issue again and navigate to the place you were It is thus impossible to read an issue because if you put aside the iPad even for a second you have to start again Simply inexcusable     Horrible unusable app Lleehh1212998712

Since the update I can t leave the app and try to return to the same place later as it forgets and just loads the homepage again and on opening the magazine I was busy reading it starts on page 1 again Annoying     No more memory Jjmbotha

Had a digital subscription for more than three years Had no problems and it was a great magazine Then came the big update Issues never downloaded Now I ve got issues I ve already paid for that I ll never be able to access again When they tell you part of the fix is to turn it off and turn it on again you know it s totally messed up Finally had to just cancel it     RUINED BY UPDATE 1234161

I ve had a digital subscription to Empire for several years The app wasn t fancy but it worked After the update I can t download the issues I ve deleted the app reloaded it restored purchases and it still doesn t work It says issue downloading and then download error Love this magazine but it s not worth the purchase if I can t read it         Can t read this magazine anymore Blue polish

App now takes double the space instead of less space With the current issue it used to be around 750 MB Now with the latest issue the app takes around 1 5 GB The previous issue used to take around 450 MB In the new app it takes around 900 MB     Now it takes double the space Abhijitme

The previous update made it impossible to subscribe without a customer number from a paper subscription The iOS 8 update doesn t fix the problem Customer service suggested creating a subscription online but all of the subscription links for the US Digital Edition just point to iTunes as all subscriptions are supposed to be created in app Empire Customer Service is still looking into this but it s pretty obvious they would rather have our 4 99 per issue than our 19 99 for a subscription Don t buy this app unless you already have a customer number and even then it sounds like downloads aren t working                     Still can t buy new subscriptions iOS 8 or not Marie66653

I ve always loved the magazine but it was just too expensive on the newsstand The digital version is well worth the subscription price UPDATE The app does not work with iOS8 Either it tells me to restart the app and I actually had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work or it deletes the issue I just downloaded after closing the app and then i have to go through the uninstall reinstall process again UPDATE 2 Update for iOS 8 has corrected the issues I can read my magazine again Thanks for the quick fix                     Great app great magazine CRDFilm

This app has problems Empire is a fun read but the digital version can be a problem to access Today I had the March 2014 issue show up in my library but I cannot download it I am instructed to go to the App Store for the latest version of the app The latest version was released in JUNE 2013 I was able to read every issue until the current one I deleted and reinstalled the app but nothing changed Still can t get the issue Past experience with The app s developers tells me I ll get no help in resolving the issue Argh         Nothing but FRUSTRATION OBXboy

The best movie magazine in the world has converted into one if the best magazine apps on the iPad I used to have this delivered to my home in the U S because since Premiere stopped publishing this was by far the best movie magazine in the World What used to cost me 100 a year to have delivers from the UK now costs 20 for a year The content matches the magazine exactly and is even better on the iPad with extra digital content I loved getting the paper copy in the mail it is a beautiful magazine to have and looks awesome on a coffee table I grab the latest copy whenever I am in the UK and will grab the occasional one in a Barnes and Noble if it has a feature on a movie I am really excited about most recently they Man of Steel issue But you lose nothing with the iPad version It is the best magazine app I have found an look forward to each issue along with the convenience of having it with me all the time to read when I have the chance Can t recommend it enough                     Best Movie Magazine in the World Scottdsmith23
