FINAL FANTASY TACTICS: THE WAR OF THE LIONS

You might balk at the 13 price tag for this game but dont its a full port of the classic PlayStation RPG with many hours of play In addition all the game text has been retranslated and animestyle cutscenes have been added Theres value in this title The biggest problem as of v12 is that the game isnt very stable Ive seen a crash about once an hour which in a 60 hour RPG adds up two of which were hard enough crashes that they forced my iPhone 6 Plus to reboot something which simply shouldnt happen If Square Enix can fix the stability issues in a later rev this will be one of the best RPGs available for iOS           Worth the price but needs stability fixes

Combat is clunky and unintuitive they added a 3D map that constantly spins around during a battlefield making it a pain to target enemies the art is bland and makes everyone look the same youre forced to have AI members in your team that often work against your tactics which is ironically in the title of the game The leveling system is slow and redundant If a member of your team dies in battle theyre gone for good so I hope you like saving and loading a lot Despite a lengthy tutorial if you dont have previous knowledge of FFT youve just wasted 15 bucks It gets two stars because the movies are nice but Ive played the game for about 24hrs of play and I wont be going back square will get no more money from me        Very sad what was done to FFT

Im a huge fan of this game and have been since it first came out so it would take a lot for me to give this anything but a five star rating Somehow Square Enix managed to do it Im on an iPhone 6 plus with the latest version of iOS and the game crashes constantly There doesnt seem to be any pattern to the crashes sometimes I can play for an hour or two with no problems whatsoever but sometimes it will crash every 5 minutes Absolutely unacceptable Square Get your act together I do see why some reviewers have complained about the controls since the port does not handle the conversion to touchscreen as elegantly as it could but it just takes a little getting used to Normally Id give a game with these problems only one star but Ill throw Square a bone since this is one of the best strategy video games ever made Please please PLEASE release a patch to fix the crashes        Crashes constantly

This game could use a few essential updates such as larger screen support and MFi controller support     Needs more support

Player vs player like the one on PSPText display are blurry Update to full screen on iPhone 5 and scenes It is high resolution unit graphics but why not make text high resolution too Text need to fix too Better resolution        Fix text to highresolution add PVP

This game is my favorite since playstation Of course there are bugs but I havent had any serious problems since I save all the time Square Enix we definitely need a sequence to this game in the style Much more interesting than the other FF formats Will there be a sequel                 We need a sequence

For the price of the game I expected a more decent support from the developer Still no optimization for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus If ever they would decide to optimize the game I do hope that its a true optimization and not like the optimization they did for Final Fantasy 1 wherein they only added banners on both sides iCloud save function for the iPhone is still not working despite the issue almost being 2 years old Not to mention random crashes of the game I do hope the developer would find time for the game considering the number of people who have purchase this We were basically given a substandard game     Optimization and Bug Fixes

Great game though I have a feeling something wasnt covered by recent patch notes Ive completed the ninjasamurai battle near 10x at The Interstice and they dont throw chaos blades javelins etc at me anymore Anyone know if this was patched out              Great port but patch notes questionable

It doesnt make sense to me that there are two versions of this game for iPhone and iPad I originally bought this app for my iPhone and I decide to look for it on my iPad and it says that this version might not work as well on the iPad I ask that you please make both versions free for those of us that bought either version because I dont want to have any sizing issues playing on my iPad The game is amazing and my most favorite among the FFT saga              Two Versions

I loved this game when it came out on the playstation Ive been looking for something to pass the time lately and saw this came out for the iOS I was surprised and so I bought it On my iPhone 6 plus this was easy enough to play on There were some things here and there that could be fixed like the prompt it gives you every time you hit move could be removed if possibleit does crash seldomly However this is why I have given it a 1 star rating Everything was fine and dandy I got up to lvl 60 no problems with a couple crashes but nothing majorthen one of the crashes I boot it back up and it crashed again I started it again and now everything is dis colored in a glitchy fashion I thought well whatever And rebooted it again and still there Ok I reboot my phone and boot the game up again Same thing Ok so I reload from a save file previously to where I was at to see if maybe that would fix it It did not So I figure the only way to fix it is to reinstall That wipes my save data and I have to restart This is very upsetting I spent a good 30 hours on the game and lost it all Thats why I give a one star It would be nice to have it be saved somewhere on my device to where if I reinstall I wont lose everything     Was great at first

Playing this game on an iPhone is actually an improvement over the original PSP version I have more options when rotating the map allowing me to see better around buildings and other environmental objects This is almost a perfect port of the game but a few times the game has crashed on me If I would change one thing it would be how you enter text when naming your character It would be nice if they used a QWERTY keyboard                 My Favorite Title to Play on iPhone 6 Plus

Save file constantly gets erased and the game does this on purpose with no way to stop it or make a duplicate save     Dude wheres my save file

1st Buy this game You are here because you are a tactician and love tactic games 2nd XCOM Enemy Within Final Fantasy Tactics Red Banner Saga Ravenmark Spectral Soul Record of Agarest War The soon to be released Sid Meiers Starships Battlelore Command Summoner Wars The last two are board games but they represent unit tactics These are our cream of the crop squad based tactic games on iOS Great flashy graphics nice engaging stories Stimulation upon stimulation We are in a good time now my iOS tactic gaming brethren Tactics Ogre would be the King of this list if Square Enix would release it I do not understand why they havent already So much money to be made off that one title alone That said Final Fantasy Tactics for iOS is the definitive edition in my eyes Silky smooth play great visuals deep story updated graphics excellent implementation of touch control UI excellent tutorial These guys really thought it through and executed it well Bravo Square Enix Hi Corp Round hand of applause I wish we had mulitplayer or a single player skirmish mode with all classesmonsterscharacters open to us so like in XCOM we can test out different squad builds and dig into the synergies combos of potential classesmonstersstory characters that sync well together this game would had been legendary if such modes existed But thats besides the point here This game is a must have if you are a fan of turn based squad tactics I dont mean Civ Rev or Starbase Orion 4x both beautiful games but those are strategy turn based I dont mean turn based JRPG games those do not have tilehex movement of individual units you are prompted for a battle and all bunched and take shots one after another at the enemy Nothing wrong with that its a fun genre too But I am speaking about Turn Based Squad Tactics where action points determine the ebb and flow of the units moving across boardmap and where making a decision before committing to it can lead to a tacticians master mind achievement or instant punishing death Tactics I LOVE this genre Square Enix if you are reading bring Tactics Ogre the vita edition help complete our library of collections for these masterpieces here on iOS and every other platform for that matter                 A MUST BUY

Dont get me wrong this is one of my favorite games of all time I love the story and the original Playstation version I bought the iOS version just to keep the collection going on my phone But I rarely get to play this game and enjoy it The game glitches badly during battles either by distorting the gameplay freezing up restarting the app even giving me the blue screen on my phone if I try to restart the app Other than that gameplay is hard to control at times but needs getting used to When I can successfully play the game for longer than 30 minutes without any problems Ill be happier           Glitchy gameplay not worth moneytime

Since the update to iOS 83 the iCloud save feature no longer seems to be working Please look into and hopefully fix the issue Otherwise the game is great              iCloud save feature stopped working

The game itself seems to play fine Im choosing to rate this 15 stars because weve had the wider screen iPhones for just about THREE YEARS and SquareEnix continues to leave these games with the black bars on the sides     The game itself plays well however

this game is perfect i put over 300 hours into this game as a kid on the PSX cherished every minute of it this game is something you can hide in a closet making yourself comfortable on the coats with a little bottle of your favorite liquor for me its vodka and just play for hours until someone notices your missing because they need you to do something for them                 wow flash black to my childhood

The game went to a blue screen and it wanted me to report to the programmer LIBGUdecode2 I remember when the game first came out there where some bugs but they were fixed and now it seems the bugs are back Sad face           Reporting LIBGU decode 2

Its definitely an awesome game But the port has some serious bugs It tends to crash at random times On rare occasions those crashes can even erase your save files Also at random times the in game menus may disappear completely leaving you with a cursor floating over nothing And worse yet they still havent fixed it Will improve score if they fix issues     The game is good Port not so much

After playing through this game a dozen times through the years I was overjoyed to see it come in its most polished and complete form to date and available anytime on my phone Love                 The best it has ever been

Amazing game Ive beaten it so many times and its still one of my faves the only problem is I cannot load my old saves due to iOS 83 blocking programs like iexplore so I cannot put in my old saves I have on my computer which blows                 Awesome

The port is great I have not encountered and glitches or forced closing Touch screen isnt bad at all The camera takes a bit of getting used to but once you play around its not an issue For those who dont read the app description This isnt is not a universal app Kind of a poor decision on SE So be wary on what device you pick this up on Major flaw I have enabled iCloud saves within the game menu but every time I save in the iCloud game save only allows 1 iCloud save spot 3 local saves it claims to be saved but when you go in to load the game or save over the last game save there shows no data Major issue if you are playing on multiple devices Even if youre playing on one device its bad because you cant have a cloud back up of a game that you can spend dozens upon dozens of hours in This needs to be fixed Which isnt likely because this game hasnt been updated in 2 years           Great but issue with Cloud saves

At the first battle cannot even figure out how to place my people into the squad there is nothing to help me figure it out What the hell     Annoyed

This has officially become the definitive version of FFT for me The updated graphics are great Runs like a beast on my iPad Mini Retina Now bring on FFVI VII VIII and IX and we will be in business with iOS gaming                 Definitive version

I got this game because I loved both FFTA and FFTA2 and I knew from the start it would be a much different experience due to the lack of advanced at the end At first I really hated the controls on the iPhone but as I played through the game further I learned how to manage them efficiently so they were no longer a problem at all While the storyline was a bit subpar my real complaint is with the characters function in battle The only characters which often used moves other than default attack were the mages and a few really OP storyline characters It definitely didnt feel as intense as other games in combat when all I was doing was spamming the same thing over and over And by far the worst part of my experience with this game was the end of the storyline The storys ending itself was fine but after youve watched the last cutscene you can only reload your game into the middle of the last bossfight In order to find the last few optional characters and see all of the sideplots the story has to offer Id have to start an entirely new game and play through the same first 50 hours or so of using deffault attack No thank you If youre interested in this game you should get FFTA2 instead        Good at its core but has issues

Very few complaints Controls were hard to understand at first and the gameplay started out very difficult but I found it got easier on both counts as time went on It does drain battery quickly though                 Great game

Ive played more of this game on my iPhone than I ever did on ps1 I never had the patience to play but being able to just pick it up and go is a great motivator All in all this is a pretty good port It does take some time getting used to the microscopic menu selections but you get used to it after a while My only major issue with this game is a technical one it crashes constantly on startup before the main menu and several times during gameplay This seems to be completely random possibly a compatibility issue with the iPhone 6 Still I keep coming back to it and plan to finally finish it this time around              A classic with some technical issues

Square says they have been working on it since July of last year Nothing happened since then        iCloud saves dont work from iPhone to iPad

Its an amazing game I always love playing it Theres too many crashes though Every battle or two the app crashes on me and its hard to finish the game this way Please make an update to solve the crashing           It keeps crashing

I wrote a long review but the App Store erased it Thanks Apple This version of FFT has all the extras of the PSP version except the multiplayer It also has many bonuses of its own Higher res wide screen graphics Redrawn sprites Variable zoom Variable camera angles Touch screen controls which in my opinion are very intuitive iCloud saves In call you hear game but they dont Closing the app pauses the game even midbattle The developers did good on this port Ive beaten FFT start to finish atleast 7x Only once on iphone but this is the best presentation so far                 Best FFTactics
