Flash Block is a menu bar app for easily toggling the flash browser plugin on and off. When you need to maximise your Mac's battery life, enable flash block to prevent flash ad banners on webpages ...
Since Click To flash stopped working I was hoping Flash Block would stop flash videos on CNN No such luck It won t stop the auto playing flash videos on CNN They apper to be some kind of mpeg4 that start will a spinning red banner Looks like I m out 0 99 I should have seen this app was created in 2011 and is version 1     Wont work on Mac 10 12 1 Sierra Jeffpb3
Flash block does work You have to quit Safari then re open it It s not a perfect App but I loathe flash When I m reading the NYTimes CNN Mac Daily News or the Washington Post the moving ads were so annoying that many times I just left the websites Now I just hit Enable Auto Kill and the moving ads go away The reader function in the address bar of Mountain Lion OSX is better but it is only activated when you re inside an article or story When my system fan rev s at a high speed I know Adobe Flash is the culprit so I just hit Enable Auto Kill The battery on my Mac Book Pro Retina went down to 1 within three hours due to the Adobe Flash software                 It s quirky but it works RCHPE
This product does as advertised A previous reviewer commented that once it killed flash he was unable to bring it back except by restarting Safari I am unable to replicate that behavior Refreshing the page does indeed bring it back if Auto Kill isn t enabled It also works across all popular browsers As of writing it also works on Safari 5 2 My wish list Configurable keyboard shortcut for Kill Active Flash Configurable keyboard shortcut for toggling Auto Kill Whitelisting domains to never block Flash Support for Reviving Flash on a page Once you kill it on a page it s gone Being able to click a placeholder to bring it back would be great My only concern about buying this in the App Store is that it seems unlikely to survive Apple s upcoming Sandboxing requirement                 Works Well vcsjones
Once you choose Kill active flash it stays killed Refreshing the page does nothing I had to close the app and then close Safari Next time Safari launched Flash was working again     Can Mac-Nut
