First things first it looks polished but the user experience and effectiveness are incredibly lacking 1 took me at least five minutes just to turn on staff note flash cards and that was by accident you you have to choose which music related topics for which you want to see cards and the bass and treble clef notes including ledger lines are not even exposed until level 3 Shouldn t these be on for first launch 2 the flash card format is poorly designed The answers are exposed on the tops of cards in very small type not on the reverse side like in other flash card apps in various parts of the interface the text labels will be cut off or abridged with three dots making them impossible to read 3 you have sig around into the game mode to find the interactive piano keyboard flash cards which is actually useless because you can t proceed to the next flash card unless you get the current one right and you re not penalized for wrong guesses in any way Which brings me to the next point 4 there is no progress tracking or indication of your performance after cycling through the complete deck of notes you could just randomly mash on the keyboard as fast as you wanted it will advance cards when you hit the right one and just tell you the resulting time it took to get through the whole deck Same for the multiple choice mode example I played the multiple choice mode and mashed the four notes as fast as I could I got through the whole deck of 37 cards in 5 seconds 5 usability wonkiness in the lesson configuration area when you enable just a single class of cards within one lesson then collapse the lesson the checkbox interface will look as if the whole lesson is enabled so yes just those little things I will not use this again and this app is exactly why I m reluctant to buy an app that doesn t have a free lite version the screenshots are usually very untelling and I often am looking for specific features if I can t see how well it helps me learn I m going to resent having paid for it even if it was only 99     deceptively inadequate Ray Richland
