Fractals are not common knowledge so a brief introduction is a must The Mandelbrot set is a famous example of a fractal Basically a fractal is a function that feeds back unto itself In other words the functions output value is plugged back into the function and it repeats this process The result is a reoccurring pattern The Mandelbrot set is a good example The further you zoom in the same pattern will reappear Who cares Well natures formula seems to be based on fractals so we can mimic how nature creates such an amazing wonders Common examples are snowflakes crystal formation lightning river networks and blood vessels Its commonly used in computer games generating organic environment fractal antenna found in cell phones the new digital camouflage and lot of other scientific applications If you want to know more go to wikipediaorg and look up fractal A little bit about fractals
