This app worked great for the first year 6 issues I renewed the annual subscription and got the 7th issue as well When the 8th came out it said I had to buy it again I deleted the app and all data hoping it would wipe out any corrupt data and let me redownload the issues Now I cannot read any of them it says I have to buy them even though I already paid for them Im not sure what happened to this app but its a bummer because the content was excellent UPDATE Clicking on the dollar sign at the top and then hitting the circle arrow icon popped up and error message but did restore my purchases        great content bad app
Well what can I say The app does not work I tried to purchase a subscription but the login dialog shifts down when the onscreen keyboard is up preventing me from completing the fields Minimally there should be nextprevious buttons on the OSK to navigate the form After that the app refuses to close the keyboard requiring a hard kill to reset the app So then I decided to purchase a single issue for 699 only to find that upon pressing the Load button I am presented with the same purchase dialog Selecting the button and pressing refresh does not work Ive paid for my content but cant get it Long story short stay away from this app     Horribly Broken App
This is laid out as a magazine that assumes you have an iPadsized reader You cant read it on an iPhone without scrolling like crazy        Not for the iPhone
Ive enjoyed the magazine so far its written at a mildly technical level but is light reading suitable for relaxation On the iPad mini the fonts can be a bit small Its possible to zoom in but the text doesnt reflow Not a big problem though it could be annoying The active hyperlinks are nice and the embedded web browser is very useful I particularly like the splitscreen default              Good content good reader
ive been unable to unpinchzoom to enlarge text so even on an iPad Air reading the squinty text is painful What I dont understand is why BSD Journal seems to have its own reader which is quite unlike the readers for other magazines in Newsstand Its not better its just different gratuitously so If BSDJ is going to be in Newsstand please get with the program and use the same reader           Great Content lame reader
I paid for an annual subscription and was charged for an additional single copy and yet no content is available to me At a minimum I would like my 699 refunded        billing needs work
Im starting to question why Im using supporting promoting etc this thing called FreeBSD First year was good got first issue after auto renewal But now cant get second issueand from the cover I really want to read it When I try the lock it always says authentication failed But the dynamic edition takes the login just fine Except the latest issue isnt available this way Trying the buyrestore purchase route says You have not already purchased this issue Also the login route had worked fine since the iPad Air 2 that I own now didnt exist when I started the subscription Makes me question why I resetup recurring donation to foundation because it just stopped silently rather than give me any way to up my credit cards expiration date etc Update After eventually emailing someone else at the Foundation messages were forwarded and contact was made but then nothing My login now doesnt work on web Since I had purchased subscription originally through Amazons AppStore I contacted Amazon support I got a full refund which makes it possible to get a subscription via iTunes Wonder if I should test if my new login works on my Kindle Fire HDX 89 which I hardly use since I got this iPad Air 2 Only time will tell what will happen next year        Another strike against FreeBSD
Its too bad that this product is being published by the FreeBSD foundation because their horrible nonexistent customer service has not only cost them a subscriber but a supporter of the foundation as well My subscription autorenewed and yet I cannot access any of the new content Ive contacted both Apple and the Journal Apple responded but didnt fix the problem and the Journal apparently doesnt care enough to respond This leaves me no choice but to dispute the charges with my credit card company     Lost a Customer and a Supporter
