What is it? --------------------------------------- Fugue is a 16-track MIDI sequencer that allows you to create complex sequences using a few simple controls. To avoid any confusion, this app does not produce any audible sounds. It is designed to ...
This really is a very cool app capable of making many types of sounds Some ideas for the future 1 Ability to set a key 2 Need to be able to set faster track speeds 3 Ability to select starting note minor issue Also looking forward to adding rests Add these and its a 5star app Congrats           Cool but not there yet
After initial bafflement I went to the developers website and discovered that you need to have a different instrument on each channel and that you need to set each instrument to respond to a single MIDI channel Then you get a sequencer that drives up to 16 separate instruments with the ability to transpose reverse invert augment tempo and diminish tempo These are the basic mechanics of a fugue which must be where the app gets its name Unfortunately it is missing one of the most important elements the ability to stagger the entries of the different channels which is what allows imitative counterpoint Thus you cannot use it to creat a canon much less an actual fugue Another problem is the lack of documentation or any sort of demopreset system This means that if you do happen on something you like you cant save it and there are no presets from which to learn I hope the developer will add these features at which point I will revisit my rating As it however I cant recommend this app except as an experimentalchaotic note generator           Interesting idea but hard to use
