I had over 2 01 berth the day before and and over 8 05 in berth that equals over 10 hours in berth signed off on previous day and dropped on duty that morning did my inspection and drove off alarms and flashing red lights started going off and I didn t understand nor still understand why A different time I did a DPF regen while in berth status somehow it threw me in on duty status and I didn t know until I logged back in to leave shipper said I only had 7 hours of drive time after satisfying a 10 hour berth due to how long it took to get loaded I also have it set to Yard moves some distribution centers have distances similar to a small town for check in and docking before leaving off sight or street parking before you enter it would be nice to be in full control of the drive status with a shipper receiver button press the button it becomes red allowing you to maneuver freely during your time on the property waiting moving to dock waiting moving away from dock waiting receive paperwork click button S R button it allows you to enter laden info if you like or roll out I actually tried to google more info and find YouTube videos to get a better understanding of this device but nothing totally on point or official from that media yet why do we have to sign off logs on a ELD when our PIN number to sign in holds the same weight we verify that we are the user when we put in our secret numbers just trying to eliminate how many steps it takes to complete a log         Violation2 a lot of info here kelsobarrett

Honest Owner op review I purchased this device 3 weeks ago and I have not been able to have successfully day logged in with out any issues Per other customer s reviews this device was rushed in to the market with out any real life testing totally agreed 1 It is not user friendly it s dull 2 It does not recognize when you are Off Duty or On Sleeper Berth for your 10 hrs rest If you are on sleeper Berth for 9 5hrs then you go Off Duty for 35 minutes to the restaurant restroom etc then you are 10 hrs and 5 minutes not driving you are ready to start a new driving day right Wrong The software does not combine the hrs of both Off Duty with Sleeper Berth to to make your 10 hrs before you start a new shift 3 You have to stay your full 10 hrs on your Sleeper Berth or full 10 hrs Off Duty before you start a new day it does NOT combine both to make up your 10 hrs otherwise the software will send messages that you are in violation when you are driving It s annoying and distracting for the driver and it puts the driver and public in danger because it is sending you distracting messages when you are driving telling you that you are in violation of HOS hours of Service when you clearly have new 11 hrs to drive 4 If you are On Sleeper Berth for 9 hrs and you move the truck with in the yard waiting to be loaded or unloaded etc for 2 minutes to a different spot and use the option Yard Moves at that point you have been 9 hrs resting on Sleeper Berth then your 9 hrs are lost and you clock starts again At this point You are thinking that you have to wait 1 hour on Sleeper Berth and you are good to go Wrong Again the software is NOT recognizing the changes This is very frustrating and disappointing to say the least At this point you are on the clock to make your delivery or pickup and THIS freaking POS device is sending you messages that you are in violation on HOS and have no hrs to drive On one of my loads I picked up from Sacramento Ca to Pomona Ca I was On Duty loading and I started driving thinking that the software will update like it had done before to Driving status but instead it kept me on On Duty all the way to my destination It did not detect I was driving the whole way but it detected my yard moves at the shipper s site 5 After reading some customer s reviews I agree with other users of this product on where rightly points out that Garmin rushed this product to the market with out testing in it real life with real truckers on the road By Garmin putting this product in to the market before it is ready fully tested debugged it is irresponsible and dangerous to public and the driver s safety 6 Deleted the app and reinstalled it again on the my IPad and all info was lost not able to retrieve it Good thing I am still using my paper logs 7 The parameters for the administrator are a joke you can not correct edit or combine or add record If you certify the log for a previous day or days you can not go back and see it or edit anything at this point you have to copy the file into a memory drive and view it on a different computer in this case my IPad will not read the files I just copied So if the CHP California Highway Patrol or the scales ask to view the past few days of records Good Luck convincing the officer or inspector 8 Went Off Duty mode last nigh at 9 15pm so I have 2 hrs 50 minutes of Off Duty time On 01 10 18 kept Off Duty mode on 01 11 18 til 5 42am that is 5hrs and 42 minutes and at 5 42am went on Yard Move for 2 minuets from then went on Off Duty mode from 5 44am to 9 32 am that is a total of 9 hrs 30 minutes Off Duty plus 2hrs and 50 minutes from night before is a total combined of over 12 hrs and 22 minutes Off Duty since last night But according to Mr Elog I have no hrs to drive and this POS is sending me messages that I am in violation on my HOS Hours of Service So why I m in violation if I have more than 10 Hrs of Off Duty Time combined I guess the Developers could not figure this out Hey Mr Developers any ideas on how to fix this and make it more user friendly Did you guys ever tested it on the road or real life conditions My guess is not because from some responses from the developing team it has only been approve by the FCMSA 8 Lastly Buy it at your own risk Buyer beware For an owner op it s hard to make money when you have to figure out and deal with all these issues that have to be already iron out before product lunch The only good thing about it is that it has no monthly payments for now Anyhow I m returning it to Loves for a refund Too many headaches     Is Garmin Elog a piece of rubbish Honest owner Op.

I just bought this device to save on cost and monthly subscriptions The setup was easy and the platform is nice however it s not functional Their missing parameters for driving you can t drive an inch without going on and off duty I m unable to set any parameter as an administrator nor am I able to see what the drivers are doing while out on the road I m still confused on how to perform a DVIR IFTA edit delete or anything It seems to be just a big display of what you re doing it s non functioning and eats up your hours From my experience you ll spend more time with the phone trying operate the program then actually focusing on driving It s a waste and a wasteful experience So disappointing     What The Peterbilt

I have been a loyal Garmin customer for many years I have the Dezl 770 in both my trucks and was very excited when I discovered the adapter for ELD My hope was to turn my GPS units into a one stop GPS ELD unit After purchasing adapters for both trucks I encountered the first problem the GPS won t connect to the ELD adaptor It keeps telling me that the device is not compatible It s a freaking Garmin product Ok no problem I ll download the app I have an iPhone 7 Plus Got it downloaded and working but within 2 days it had a major error and changed the duty records of my previous logs in to 24 hours of driving even the 7 days BEFORE I activated the app That s when I discovered that there s no way to edit logs BIG PROBLEM So my next solution was to buy a dedicated tablet that only ran the app After downloading opening finding an issue deleting and reinstalling the app 4 times I got it to work I ran one full week with no glitches including a 34 hour reset Then this morning BAM Previous 7 days ALL CHANGED TO DRIVING FOR ALL 24 HOURS Of course there s no way to change it Moral of the story I m out 500 in adaptors 200 in tablets Don t get this system until Garmin fixes the issues     Hopes dashed onegrumpytroll

Installed device and after 3 hours OFF DUTY it s starting to use time from 11 hours driving time not 8 till violation after another 3 OFF DUTY hours start also to use driving time from 8 hours right when I was ready to go I got a message R data recording compliance malfunction the system has reached the maximum capacity storage basically after 8 hours the storage was full It s disconnecting sometimes and have to stop to sign in Change status from Sleeper to On duty instead of Driving VERY DISAPPOINTED P S Could not find anywhere to fill up DVIR     Lots of issues Draqula

I too am experiencing the same problems as reported by others plus some Keeps losing the vehicle VIN which you have to re entry before you can use it Does not interface with Dezl 770 as advertised Will not store logs on Dezl instead of phone Cannot change status from Dezl as advertised Says the vehicle is in motion and no one is logged in which is incorrect Too many bugs to be usable     Still Beta Quality Tikt4u

I have this thing now for about 5 days it keeps disconnecting from the phone easily and every time my phone locks up I have to log in and this means that you need to log in every time your phone turn to locked position and first day I was driving for 75 miles and my statues is on duty not driving It didn t change to driving statues and it disconnected from the Bluetooth several times and I have iPhone 6 Plus Garmin needs to fix these issues but I think I am going to return it     Garmin too bad Kit it

I bought the device Application changes records after signing the log I logged off duty the app said it recognized it I signed it started my next day and it mysteriously changed my 10 hours off to a driving violation Stay away     Violation now non compliant

Really wish we could use the app without the device It would be nice to see how the app performs before buying the device         Needs a manual mode No ELD Jsn5586
