The topics and level of explanation is high But the way the content is provided through the App is average There are 2 main problems 1 the app is ridiculously slow in loading itself I have iPhone 5s It is a general problem caused even if I use high speed wifi LTE connection although the loading shouldnt be affected by access speed and or have episodes already downloaded to the App 2 each episode contains high amount of embedded marketing and commercials content Good but has 2 big flaws
App is very buggy Episodes often skip and start over on their own I got this for the older episodes that are not available on the podcast but am very disappointed Love GG but app is poor
Like most reviewers here I am a big fan of Grammar Girl so I bought this app thinking Id be able to listen to the podcasts and have access to all of them via the archives Potentially this may be true but my experience from the first few minutes I played an episode is that the podcast froze and I had to do a hard reset Then the podcast went into an insanely fast fastforward Thus far I havent really been able to enjoy this app I know Ms Fogartys lessons are normally great but they need to upgrade the site and fix the bugs so the subscribers can hear them correctly Please fix this Im sure you can and will Just do it Thanks Buggy doesnt work properly

Stick with the free podcast Most podcasts are not add free Downloaded shows still buffer You have to play them through QuickTime if you want them in the background and whichever way you play them they will not play one after another App is very buggy and has trouble playing through Bluetooth Save your money

Im an avid Grammar Girl podcast listener and I thought that this app could only make searching for new episodes a lot easier Well the app has more bugs than you can shake a stick at and when you contact tech support via Contact NO ONE gets back to you Some major issues that Im experiencing include Whenever I try to rewind the app goes crazy and switches episodes Buffer time is ridiculous on 3G The app doesnt work in the background The app will want to randomly switch episodes after you pause Some of the so called ad free episodes actually have ads at the end Unless the GG app developer is working 247 to fix these issues Id hold off and just use the iTunes app that comes on your iPhone Save your money
I tutor and straight grammar can be boring This app brings it all together and makes a delightful game of parts of speech My two boys fought over the iPad for an hour trying to beat each others score The stepbystep progression the timed and untimed options and the variety of sentence structure makes for good teaching It helps to have memorized the auxiliary verbs and to have some experience with the parts of speech before playing They got to level six but stayed at level five trying to improve their scores They knew they needed to get better at the concept of adverb before advancing Better that they decide that than I Marvelous
I realize this is the Grammar Girl Podcast App but it would be great to see a Grammar Girl Tips section added to the app I enjoy getting my daily tips emailed to me However it would be even better to have something similar included in the app Grammar Girl Podcast App

I am happy to support Grammar Girl the best thing to come from Reno since Fozzie Bear The app so far has downloaded and played episodes smoothly Some of the episodes are not adfree The variable speed playback is gimmicky and worse than useless I do not like the very faint darkened text color of already played episodes the very faint gray superimposed over the GG silhouette makes reading nearly impossible Played episode titles can be displayed in white text like unplayed episodes Just OK
The app doesnt have backgrounding so you have to have it open to listen Also only SOME of the episodes are adfree I bought the app because I like supporting podcasts I listen to Whoever is updating and developing this app needs to take a look at the Today In iOs podcast app and make this one a bit more like it Backgrounding is a must for this type of app Looking forward to an update Good way to support the show but

Im a new user of this app and I love it It has been updated so that users have access to all of the Grammar Girl podcasts It has a search bar to help you find the right podcast for your grammar concerns You can also email Grammar Girl within the app see her Twitter feed and her Facebook page as well as get a glimpse into some extras thrown into the app as free gifts I regret buying the Grammar App which is another app that recently came out It cost me a 199 and its basically a 1dimensional Power Pointflash card app that teaches very basic grammar no punctuation lessons included Its more for ESL and grade school students than adults who want to finetune their grammar The Grammar Girl app is the app you want instead Worth Your Time and Money
