Guitar Lessons by Guitar Tricks

Okay I had played the guitar none stop for three years self taught I had played with some of the best local musicians and was told I was pretty good I came to a brick wall I couldnt riff I tried to get lessons but with a family I just couldnt find the time I had tried other online lessons but nothing helped I researched enough and found Guitar Tricks Probably the best research Ive done since college I absolutely love this site and I have already learned so many things that I thought I had already known The instructions are dummy proof I promise there is no site out there that will make guitar learning any easier than GT If you cant learn to play the guitar on this site then I suggest another instrument                 Clean app thats so simple to use

Ive little time within the app itself but have found it an excellent way to quickly return to lessons Ive been going through in the past via history link Which in its self isnt enough for five stars yet I find its simplicity of use in finding lessons a major factor That simplicity runs throughout the app as far as I can tell so far with my limited use and makes navigation much easier and quicker Ill say that since Im a beginner with short patience I jump around between lessons within guitar tricks and elsewhere That being said me being a little slow to pick up on the big picture Im starting to realize if I just followed through with my first comprehensive lesson plan guitar tricks membership Id be much further along than now If your a beginner do yourself a favor stick with one lesson plan and follow it through guitar tricks being a very good place to start Sure definitely find your guitar knowledge anywhere you can but always have that one comprehensive lesson plan to keep you moving along I may add to this review after Ive actually gotten more realtime use with it I think itll only get better from here                 From a long timeterm beginners point of view

The app is working great on my iPad Guitartricks is hands down the best way to learn guitar or complete songs All the instructors are great Very well worth the cost                 App works great

I use it at almost every practice session because it is much more convenient than my computer I can hook it up to a small speaker system to enhance the sound from my iPad Overall the lessons are good but there are some issues that arent handled as well as I would like The instruction on how to develop a good technique for up strums seems to boil down to just more practice Id prefer some ideas on how to overcome problems like they have for developing smooth chord changes I did some google searches and found a little bit more help but not thorough Im guessing that a face to face lesson might be needed but I am not in a position to pursue that Maybe something to addressed in the future for Guitar Tricks unless no one knows a good answer           A practical and useful tool

This is just what I have been looking for The app allows me to proceed at my own pace and provides an excellent practice tool Guitar is my second instrument so I dont have a lot of time to read and research Guitar tricks really sharpens my focus and helps me optimize my practice time The ability to loop a track and play along with the instructor over and over again is a real bonus Great as is expect that time will only make it better              One Great App

I have been playing guitar for 35 years Learned songs and solos with record players Over the years I play less often and have not been in a band for years What a way to learn Within months I am playing better than ever The lessons are broken down in a way that makes learning and practicing easy and fun Never imagined I could play Crossfire by Stevie or solos from Boston But I can The app is a natural extension for me because I play guitar through Ipad almost exclusively Way to go                 Great product great app

Useless app Will not accept the same login as used on the website Keep getting an error     Wont let me login

I am very excited to finally have a dedicated app for guitar tricks I noticed that some of the hyperlinks dont work for example a link to a video tutorial on how to change your strings A great start              Really nice though it could use some polish

Next button needs to progress to the next lesson not the beginning of the same lesson Should function just like the web lessons but it doesnt Have to close the lesson then go to menu to progress to the next lesson           So close to 5 stars

Although the video streaming works well and the guitar instruction is thoughtfully designed and entertaining the premium song choices are limited not enough alternative indie rock and theres no way to sort the song lists by artist The only reason I even use this app is because the Guitar Tricks website now keeps hanging on my iPad        Needs Improvement

Portable guitar lessons Excellent                 Great app

Finally Guitar Tricks made an app I learn how to play the guitar faster on Guitar Tricks than at my guitar class The reason I gave this app four out of five stars is because since its new its missing some things that it has on its site Other than that I wouldve given it 55 stars Its a very good app I believe it will improve later on I recommend you buying a subscription of Guitar Tricks I have the 1year subscription its worth it              Very good app

Really nice to have the app since I plan to use my iPad in a iklip holder Only thing I would like to see is a flag of some type to indicate when Ive completed a lessonthe history section accomplishes that but it gets muddy if you take a look at anything else in the library                 Well done

Really good for both beginners and advanced players Lessons are great taking songs in sections and being able to replay over and over if you need I find this really helpful in learning songs and getting to be a better player overall                 Great Help

Best all around music learning program I have experienced Its got everything you need and want I highly recommend it                 This wont disappoint

As an adult beginner I have used several online apps two Tutorial CDs and one private instructor All have advantages and disadvantages but I find Guitar Tricks online lessons fit my busy schedule best are well organized and use teaching methods that build on incremental skills              My Go To Guitar App

Cant get through a lesson without it locking the video Sometimes it has sound sometimes not It needs a complete overhaul     Terrible app

The display is continuously improved to give a clearer picture of how to form chords etc Also appreciate the addition of amp settings with the lessons The iPad app is a major plus just set your iPad on your music stand and play along              Continuous improvement

I love the content of guitar tricks lessons They do a great job of teaching a variety of styles and techniques The lessons are thorough and well done BUT its hard to navigate to lessons and you cannot rewind something mid lesson to check it out again It took me a while to figure out how the jam tracks work in the context of the lesson Im not convinced that I truly know how they work Hopefully they are working on a new version that fills in some of these little details Its also not possible to see the entire group of lessons within the lesson These folks are on the cusp of something great if they can attend to a few details           Great great content but

This is a great app Ive been casually playing for years and always wanted to kick it up a notch by learning fingerpicking The beginner lessons were able to take me to the next level The lessons take you slowly through each step and and are very thorough                 Finally learned fingerpicking

It is a good app But it would be better if it stops freezing up Please fix it           Everybodysayfreeze

Cant search for songs or artists have to just hunt through the lists Cant sort by either of the above either Also the sheet music during a lesson is tab plus standard notation No way to change that Well I only want tab which you can select on the website And the dual notation takes up precious screen real estate on my iPad I dont need both let me choose the notation I prefer Also missing advanced features Like being auto scrolling tabs as you play the song or instantly jumping to sections of the lesson you are working on But overall its a really solid app that could use some further development              Good but

Guitar tricks is a great way to learn to play guitar The new app is good not as easy to navigate as the website but I am sure it will get better down the road              Guitar Tricks GREAT
