Guthook`s PCT: Oregon

I bought this sections app along with the others so I had the entire Pacific Crest Trail covered for my just completed thruhike Its just what I wanted in an app for the trail My location in relation to the trail water sources how reliable they were potential campsites and other helpful points of interest One of the best features are the photos Just by looking at a photo I can gauge how good a campsite or water source is or isnt Now I gave it four stars because it isnt perfect Though for the first version its pretty darn close My version would crash often and sometimes my blue dot location wouldnt appear for a day or two Not the end of the world just annoying I could still see the map and general location I was at That being said I talkedhiked directly with one of the developers and the bugs will be worked out and hopefully some cool new features added in the next couple updates If you plan to just hike a section or the entire PCT get Guthooks Apps Well worth the small investment No need to print physical maps              Used for My 2012 Hike Its AWESOME

I am presently using this on my section hike It is spoton Worth the reasonable price Provides all the ontrail info one needs Highly recommended                 Top Notch

I used this app for a 50 mile stretch of the Oregon pct It was dead accurate on location campsites and water sources Thanks                 Worth every penny

Sure sorry to see your app now requires iOS 6 There are a lot of us who cant or wont upgrade to 6 due to its numerous issues Very disappointed     iOS 6 mistake

Im a PCT section hiker and use this app extensively in my pretrip planning Very useful                 Great app

This works really well I love the elevation profile as well as the line of sight feature The pictures that are preloaded also give you quick ref very satisfied                 A great app

Excellent app Thanks Guthook This app pushed me over to taking my iPhone this year The only thing I see missing is any elevation profiles I REALLY depend on these I wake up in the morning and check the days elevation profile to see how much up and down I have Add that and you have a 5 star              Great app looking forward to see how it grows

Guthooks guides to the PCT are supremely helpful on the trail My favorite feature is the Trail Register where users can upload details about campsites and water sources Through NoCal I was able to avoid several long hikes down to an off trail water source because hikers ahead of me were actively reporting water source conditions This alone will save you hours and frustration Also if you lose the trail you can navigate right to it using the built in gps I cannot say enough about this series of apps                 Incredibly helpful

Older versions of the California maps are excellent The latest release of Oregon and Washington maps wont download map data In the current form these apps are completely useless Definitely need a rev before buying     Wont download map data
