Harp must be seen to be understood, so make sure to visit http://HarpApp.com/about and watch the video Harp is an elegant, fun, and easy-to-play software instrument for the iPhone and iPod Touch. To play, the left ...
This is one of the nicest apps I have found on the IPAD It is straightforward to use and the instructions are easy to understand The sound is good and I can use to accompany soloists Nice work                 Well Done
It worksyou can actually play the chords to a song My complaints are minor I wish that the notes sustained a bit longer as it actually gets a bit tiring constantly strumming I also wish there were a way to add a base note that is not part of the chord But all in all Im quite satisfied and am pleased at how functional it is I have other music apps that are fun to fool around with but this one I can actually play chords to sing along with              It really works
Come on this sounds worse than a toy Was it really too difficult to sample a real harp        Harp Sounds awful
If you want to be able to easily play all permutations of chords in any key this is the app for you Im a lever harp player and this app duplicates what one can play on a concert pedal harp pedal harpists simply press a pedal to change a particular string pitch from natural to flat to sharp they do this with one pedal On a lever harp its much more complicated because one has to flip a lever for each string individually this app allows me to quickly explore possible chords by selecting the key and chord type minor major diminished etc I can make much faster arrangements this way once I decide on a chord I then figure out how and when to make the lever flips This app should be in every musicians toolbox because it easy shows all of the relationships in a very easy to use interfaceWell done developers                 Very useful app
This is great like an Autoharp that can play any chord you want I disagree that it is limiting This is an amazing tool Great to have for a songwriter to work out ideas on the go or on vacation with no instrument More chords are available in 1 touch and glide than any other app The only way I could think to add to it would be the ability to trigger different sounds Autoharp for example or even acoustic guitar or piano Worth the 3 bucks IMO                 Brilliant
I was one of the judges that voted for Harp at iPhoneDevCamp 2 and it won best educational app because the very innovative interface encourages you to learn the nature of music through chords and the circle of fifths simply through playful experimenting I love the way you can use gestures to change the kind of chords and how the related chords are grouped next to each other many other music apps could learn from this UI My only suggestion is some way to record music chords for performance later like what the Tingalin app does                 Great User Interface for Learning Music
Needs better samplesplease and perhaps a little reverb The click wheel is not very trustworthy It is very fun though Good if you have kids           suggestion
This is the best musical instrument Ive seen on iOS You can easily get to all 12 chords which makes it easy to play man songs This app is also great for kids who are curious about music                 Extremely Fun
I looooooove harps and the sound of harps and when I saw this pretty much Jd in my P Haha Its awesome and once you find out how to use it youll J in your P Hi Heather D                 Awesomeeeeee
The first few times I messed with this on my iPad 2 I thought it was nice but maybe too simple Then I spent more time varying the strumming using both finger and thumb to strum sometimes strumming only part way up or down during a chord change Suddenly the instrument became rich expressive and incredibly beautiful I was lost in beautiful music Not just a song but a musical experience The app cannot be approached as if it were merely simple chordingstrumming Be creative vary the technique Try something new Play outside the box It is truly an amazing app and a totally new form of instrument with a great potential Thank you for creating such a new and unique instrument Definitely five stars                 The longer I play the more I love this app
The interface to the music settings is wonderful I really like how easy it is to select various chords I would really appreciate controllable sustain and possibly other effects Here is my big criticism You can only strum in this tiny little section of the screen with basically one finger Think about the movements required to play the real instrument I was hoping to be able to do twohanded strumming across the face of the iPad I would then also appreciate to see the strings across the face and be able to easily play it with two hands for more fluid glissando It does allow you to do this now but the touch has to start in the bar area and drag out I would settle for the strings taking up abot 50 and the chord selections about 50 Three stars for now Thank you           Great for three bucks
This application should be called autoharp not harp I play the harp and this certainly has nothing to do with harp This application is an autoharp which is a different instument all together It is misleading to call it one thing yet have it be another        Umm
Nice sounding Harp Lots of Chords It could use a bit more sustain              Harp
Changing chords is extremely difficult to do unless you want every chord you play to be a maj7 with a different root its pointless Definitely a waste of 3 Also overpriced in general Im bummed     Too difficult to play NOT PRACTICAL
Not loud enough and you cant even play a song on it        Just ok
I too have been holding my breath for this release ever since I first heard it at the iPhoneDevCamp in San Francisco The crisp pure tones caught me but everything about Harp has keep me enthralled I have a most difficult time putting it down The interface is clean easy to use and very visually appealing The load time is minimal in comparison to many other apps Ive experienced I have but one requestwhen will chord sheets be available on the Harp website Looking forward to spending a lot of my free time playing this sweet musical instrument                 Elegance and Style
I think this app could be better than it is Arciem LLC please take a look at the app GUITAR by Frontier Design Group Your app is taken up by the key selection That could be placed on the flip side and then you could have the strings on the front like a real harp and I think the sound of the harp could be more realistic So I hope Robert McNally will make some updates as we did pay some cash toward this app In app land we expect more for 199 Thanks though for your hard work and hope updates are coming soon        This app isnt as good as it could be Hope they update it soon
Ive been waiting for this app ever since it was demoed at iPhoneDevCamp It seemed so simple and elegant I looked forward to playing it and this first release doesnt disappoint The controls are simple and natural and the included helpinstructions screen provides a nice introduction to music theory from a how to make the harp sound good perspective Im no musician and I was able to improvise decentsounding tunes in less than a minute from starting the app A little more time and practice should be enough to start playing recognizable songs The harp sound itself is a bit computery but Im not sure if thats a limitation of the iPhones voices or the app Cant wait to see what future releases bring This is the first application Ive paid money for and its worth every penny                 So very beautiful
I really like the idea of this app You can easily choose different chord structures and keys quickly BUT it sounds like its being played through a blown speaker I have it running on the 32G iPod touch Everything else sounds great Ive tried it with headphones without headphones and it doesnt matter Hope they fix this problen then I would really enjoy this app Its a great teaching tool           sound is breaking up
Nice app lots of fun I really enjoy playing with it Would be absolutely super if on a separate tab it included a history of the last 8 16 or 32 chords played It could be useful for people who come up with awesome things accidentally Lots of fun though well done              Chord history would be terrific
