Home Concert Xtreme

I have used Home Concert Xtreme for Mac for almost 10 years and the iPad version for about 5 years It has been hands down one of the most valuable apps that Ive used with my students If it was just a MIDI accompaniment player it would be fantastic just for its easeofuse but its so much more than that It displays MIDI files in real music notation with automatic pageturns more eloquently than any other app The Learn mode gives immediate feedback to piano students by stopping the music until they play the correct keys with helpful prompts on the onscreen keyboard The real magic though is in the Perform mode where the MIDI accompaniments intelligently speeds upslows down and gets softerlouder based on the pianists playing This gives pianists the opportunity to play with more organic fluctuations in tempo and dynamics for meaningful musicmaking experiences This app is a musthave for both piano teachers and students                 One of the best apps for learning piano

I think it is very safe to say that this is one of the most significant breakthroughs for piano teachers students and for the many many folks who just love to play the piano Accompaniments available in myriad styles and levels of difficulty playable at any tempo with or without the solo quite frankly Home Concert Xtreme on the ipad is a dream come true I have used this software on my computer for many years I have taught with it I could not in fact imagine teaching a student young or older without it It is a tremendous tool for helping players become better readers for helping them to play with rhythmic solidity and conviction for helping them to understand style and above all for increasing their joy in making music with verve and vitality I teach a graduate course in pedagogy at the Juilliard school and have been coteaching a similar course at Westminster Choir College of Rider University My pedagogy students are all enthralled with this software and are quick to see its implications I am not a totally disinterested commentator for I am a composer of student materials and have created many MIDI files to accompany my piano pieces My happiness approaches a state of delirium at the thought that these files are now accessible on this extraordinary platform Paul Sheftel                 Wow

I had a digital piano but really wanted something to help me learn some songs With HCX I was able to stick my iPad in the music stand and just go It feels like Im living in the future I had one problem which turned out to be a documentation problem and the folks at Zenph got back to me within minutes Amazingly good support This is by far the most expensive app Ive ever purchased but so far it seems like it was worth it                 Good App Great Support

This is a great piano instruction program and is implemented perfectly on the Ipad I bought the Apple USB camera attachment plugged in a USB cable to my Kawaii C93 digital piano and it worked right away No expensive USBmidi converter No frantic calls for tech support Great job TimewarpZenph                 Fantastic

I have been using the desktop version of Home Concert Xtreme since the beginning and I am excited that it is finally here for the iPad This is handsdown the best MIDI app out there for pianists of all levels Not only does it aid with learning the notes it is a powerful practice and performance tool The program extracts the piano part from any MIDI file and displays the notation If the pianists chooses to use practice mode the program will show any incorrect notes and display the correct note on the keyboard display However where this program excels is when you choose performance mode Performers can use the iPad and Home Concert Xtreme to display the notation during a performance and the program will keep track of where you are and even turn the pages for you as well as following your tempo or dynamic changes The program is very easy to use right away and is useful with just the basic features After you become comfortable with the basic features you shoul delve into the more advanced features like indicating finger numbers dynamics and creating practice loops There is no other app like this I highly recommend it for pianists of all ages and ability levels It helps make practicing fun and brings an exciting dynamic to live performance                 A great MIDI app worth every penny

I have been using the HCX program on my laptop with my acoustic piano even before I bought a Clavinova last summer The iPad version is very easy to use I was able through DiskAid to transfer all of my midi files from my laptop to the HCX program on the iPad I am looking forward to using this with my students and I have already recommended this purchase to my piano students to use at home whether they have acoustic or digital pianos Bravo Zenph and HCX                 really exciting app

Home Concert Xtreme makes practicing so much more efficient I use it to practice hands separately gradually increase tempo and to keep myself focused on tackling hard parts with the Loop Feature Its also great as a performance tool and powerful enough to integrate with other MIDI software and hardware in a professional setting I have even used it the desktop version to control multimedia elements straight from the keyboard What a great product Why didnt someone one think of this sooner                 such a fun way to work with MIDI

I just downloaded this app on recommendation from a friend and its really a great value for 999I just started tinkering around with it but it has some great features I hooked up my iPad to my home midi piano setup loaded a midi file and started playing right away with the score following feature It can follow your playing or force you to follow along at the right tempo You can loop a section play left hand or right hand parts separately and it has a builtin metronome too All in all an excellent valuewhether youre a beginner or an accomplished player or somewhere inbetween I highly recommend this app as a great practice tool                 Cool app great value

This is the most expensive app Ive ever paid for and it doesnt work correctly on the Ipad I bought it as an accompaniment to use with with piano concertos but the Garriton music files dont work on the ipad Why isnt that fact specified in the description of the app If I had known that I would have purchased the computer version instead I tried to contact support but they are rarely available     Doesnt work on I pad

Wow 3999 bucks for a midi player that cant even play half the midi files out there due to improperly formatted midi files One would assume an app at this price would be smart enough to forat them correctly Midi files open fine is nearly EVERY computer program out there but not this overpriced app Not even gonna request a refund as it seems fairly impossible I would ever see my money back Better be sure your midi files work before investing in this garbage And for the record this means browsing the Internet at several known midi files resources many of them will not play on this app Poor poor poor should be ashamed of themselves for asking such a high price     Waste of money and overpriced
